Neewer 35mm f/1 : Very good lens for beginners

Really excellent quality for the price, the glass takes very decent images and the build quality make them feel and look like more expensive lens, great purchase.
I take photographs and do not use my camera for video so cannot comment on the video side of things however as far as photography goes this lens is fantastic. It is manual which as far as i am concerned is a bonus. This is how photography should be. So glad i bought this and saved an additional £300 on not buying the power zoom sony lens.
Nice and sharp lens but my eye sight is not v good so i was struggling with manual focus so i returned.
When you buy lens at this price range you hope for decent quality and pray its not disastrous, these lens really surpassed my expectations, very good presentation and it takes some very very decent photos.
Only just received this gem. Hats off to amazon who delivered the order on time. The neewer lens is well-built and has an expensive look to it which would rival any of its competitors. Now for the test… my real passion is flower photography so i headed out to the woods near my home and did a few test shots. The results are really commendable: crisp, sharp images bringing out each flower’s individual natural beauty. Exactly what i was looking for.
Great little lens for that price. If you like manual focus and big aperture, this is your choice.

Doesn’t matter what glass is used unlike what some people have comment on the reviews, it takes fantastic photos i bought it desperate for a wedding the next day and photos have came out better than someone else’s nikon 35mm so on one hand you get what you pay for on the other hand i can’t fault it and i normally go for more expensive quality lenses.
Excellent out of the box performance. Sharpness is good throughout larger apertures, while build quality is on par with more expensive kits. On a crop sensor (aps-c) 35mm equates to a 56mm focal length, which is almost ideal for general subject-based photography. The only dislikes i have about the lens are that the focus wheel is slow moving (i. Requires reasonable effort to twist), and the aperture wheel is free moving throughout 1. 7-22 (rather than click-based movement). Both of these are minor as they are simply down to personal preference.
Manual focus good once used to it.
Great value, works amazingly with my a5100.
Easy to operate, and produces very clear and crisp pictures.
The lense is completely manual, so don’t expect to be able to just point and shoot. It does require some practice, but once you get the hang of it, you can get some lovely shots with a great depth of focus. For macro, get a tripod or something you can stabilise your camera with. Would look get further lenses my neewer now i’ve got the skill down.

I happened to stumble across a review of this lens on youtube and after watching a few more decided to give it a go. I am very happy with the purchase. This lens is great for such a low price. Yes, the manual focus takes a little practice to get right however it takes some lovely photos and creates a great blurry back ground effect when used at a low f stop. Performs great in low light and has become my favourite lens at the moment and will be for some time i think.
Pretty good but nothing to write home about, i give 5 stars cause for 50 pounds they are functional and if you use them properly can deliver some decent images.
I am not one for spending massive amounts of money on a specialist lens, especially after losing one in my airport luggage once. It is just not cost effective. This looked like a reasonable deal, but hold the front page. I was bowled over by the quality and performance and, irrespective of it being a manual lens over an automatic requiring the correct exposure, i am really thrilled by what i’ve received for the money paid. The final result has been really fab.
I bought this lens as i wanted to take photos with a shallow depth of field that aren’t possible with the kit lens that came with my sony a6000. The lens is easy to use in manual focus mode using the camera’s peaking setting. I’ll be looking to upgrade shortly but if you will struggle to find a lens better than this under £100.
Good product, feels nice and heavy, good quality pictures. Fits perfectly on my sony a6000.
Neewer 35mm f/1.7 Manual Focus Lens for Sony E-Mount Digital Cameras with APS-C Sensor, Such As Sony A7III A9 NEX 3 3N 5 NEX 5T NEX 5R NEX 6 7 A5000 A5100 A6000 A6100 A6300 A6500 : Bought this lens as a cheap prime not used it much since i’ve had it general pics taken with it look ok tonight been to a wedding and put this on instead of image stabilised stock lens and wow some of the pics i took luck awesome considering crap lighting and using stock lens with flash this lens blew my stock lens away without a flash awesome product.

It feels like a quality product, built well. No autofocus can be a pain but i think it’s helping me not rely on the tech all the time.
Ordered it for my sony a5000. The lens is good, it’s all manual (no auto focus or zoom) so it takes getting used to, i wanted a cheap lens as i’m a beginner and it’s doing it’s job well.
Only had it a few days but it is fun to use. For 60 pounds, it is very good value, image quality is good (4/5) and nice bokeh. Very small too and lightweight which i like.
I was really not expecting this kind of sharpness on cheap lens, these are surprisingly well built and take very decent photos, i could not see any lens distortions or chromatic aberration whatsoever.
This lens has made getting my sony a6000 worth it. I only just had enough budget for the camera and its kit lens, but getting this has made all the difference. It works amazingly in combination with the a6000’s focus peaking (which lets you tell what’s in focus when using the lens’s manual focus). The pictures look pretty great. They obviously aren’t as good as something much more expensive, but they definitely do the job and as someone just getting into photography this lens has been what really taught me about my camera and its settings. I’m very happy with it, especially on a budget.
Excellent for the money, pretty decent build quality albeit a little utilitarian. It takes some pretty crisp sharp photos considering they cost a fraction of what a name brand would charge, very satisfied with this little lens.

As an amateur photographer i could not as for more, great quality at an affordable price. I showed these lenses to a friend who is a professional photographer and he was very surprised when he heard how much they cost. If you expect professional quality look elsewhere, but these do a pretty darn good job.
Cheap lens are always a gamble, but this is as safe a bet as you can make, the build quality is pretty basic but decent enough for the price. The glass quality is excellent at this price range and is definitely something that one can use without having to worry about distortions of any kind, very happy with my purchase.
I don’t write very many reviews, but for clarity the quality of this lens feels great, picture quality not so great. Once in focus it looks fine but the slightest wobble it’s out of focus when you look back at the photo its very blurred.
At this price range this lens do an excellent job, i got this for my son who just recently started diving into the world of photography. Rather than entrusting him with my expensive lens i decided to get him one that he could experiment with without me having to worry too much, and i must say that after trying it out myself for a few times they do not disappoint. Very decent quality and surprisingly good glass.
It works brilliantly on the sony a6000. Manual focus works beautifully and great scope for portraits as well as landscapes. My first non kit lens but am really enjoying it.
Very good glass quality and build quality, they feel quite heavy and take very sharp photos. An absolute steal at this price.

They feel well built and the finish on them is comparable to much more expensive lens, image quality is more than decent and my friends could not believe how much i paid for them, great buy.
If you are on a budget then this will suffice, very good glass quality and very birght and clean images.
