Speedlink Decus Limited Edition Laser Gaming Mouse – Fast and customisable but some Windows 10 driver issues which I am sure will be sorted soon

I was given the mouse to test by my wife and as i have said before i am a fan of the logitech mice and find that once you start with a gaming mouse you find it hard to change. I enjoy online gaming and use my pc for browsing the web and playing team fortress 2. First thing i will say about the mouse is the setup was a bit drawn out but worth it in the end the mouse surprisingly fit well in my hand and felt natural which is one of the reasons why i enjoy the logitech so much. As functions go it takes a bit to get used to the mouse with the buttons positioned as they are but it wasn’t as hard as i expected. To begin with on the mouse my game was effected as you would expect took a bit of time to get used to but after usage it felt like the logitech i have been using for years so credit to the mouse as i am really fussy when it comes to which mouse i use. The mouse also seemed able to withstand a bit of bashing about as i played a game so i would consider using it as a long term replacement for my current mouse. I found the lights a bit strange as i tend to game without many lights on and thought would bother me but it didn’t as much as i thought it would. What did surprise me is when my wife told me the price of the mice which is really good value for money i would’ve expected a price tag much higher that what it’s currently on sale for. All in all solid competition for the logitech and i am considering using this mouse in future.
Gamers will appreciate this great gaming mouse from speedlink, which is robust, and has seven programmable buttons, with onboard memory. The mouse is reassuringly chunky in black and red, and attaches via usb chord.
This is a very nice gaming mouse. It is well built with a tough cord and comfortable feel. For the more advanced functions it is necessary to install the software which is included in the box on a cd. My favourite feature is the led light which illuminates the mouse from the inside in different colours.
Pretty good mousenever heard of the brand, but it is well made, looks good and has decent software to customise the buttons and responses. It is corded, that means it’s faster, no delays in waking the mouse, no battery costs and the cable is braided and super strong. There is a colour apsect to the functions, via the software. Should you wish, you can have it pulsating, ideal for teenagers. In use it fits the hand very well, i have big hands, so hate the teeny portable ones, i get crampdecent thumb rest too and an unusual button near the thumb to auto-fire and reduce the enemy to dust. I use it for simulated bi-plane dog fights, where it functions very well indeed and you can configure the buttons to copy key combos, so looking behind one as the evil baron trip-plane approaches is possible. The box is colourful, but a bit flimsy, but never mind, the box is re-recyclable – once you have managed to get the mouse out, it’s not easygood mouse and much easier to use than my failed expensive logitech moose. (yes it was a moose in use).
Probably one of the best gaming mouse i’ve used and seen, the speedlink is a great looker, very impressive how it illuminates and looks. The mouse comes with software that you may need to upload to get the best out of the mouse, my lad is a massive minecraft player, and has a few mouse that he insists enhance the game. He used this and simply loves it, only grumble is its wired, he normally has wireless ones, he gets tangled in the cable pretty quickly when he’s got a mouse and headset on. This is a proper professional gaming mouse, not a cheap pretend one, it has customisable functions a very precise laser sensor, seven programmable buttons incl. Dpi switch and rapid-fire button, five profiles with separate button, sensor and colour configurations, auto-loading game profiles plus it has a grippy scroll wheel and finger indents. Software is fairly user friendly, i never like new software, i never enjoy finding my way round new software, i think my brain is not wired right for some software. This is a cracking mouse for not a lot of money, if you want a gaming mouse you’re not go wrong with this.
This is my second gaming mouse and it wipes the floor with the other. Genuinely comfortable to the hand and extremely smooth in its movements. Plus its fun, colourful, illuminated and feels quality.

Very good mouse, never had a problem with it and
-
Extremely beautiful mouse! I adore the futuristic design

This mouse is well made and comfortable to use. The colour lights are attractive.
A good mouse ,its comfortable in my large hands, does the job looks the part with the lights but we are using this with our playstation 4 as both the pc gamers in the house have claimed ‘it doesnt have enough buttons’ and left it in the box.
Very pleased with this item. It performs and came well packaged and arrived promptly. Great purchase great seller.
Solid gaming mouse with some nice features. Build quality is really good and i like the glowing light detail – this is also configurable within the settings, which is a nice touch. It’s very customisable, with seven configurable buttons. I found that it was easy to set up, and once i’d done so, i can’t really see the need to go back and tinker with the settings, though it’s nice that you can do so. It installed easily under windows 10 and i was able to use it straight away without going into any of the settings. The mouse fits nicely in your hand and the scroll wheel has a good, solid action. It slides well and i had no problems with the tracking.
The years pass and technology gets better and madder at the same time, to be honest i never thought a mouse would become a sought after thing or an expensive thing but there you are and to be fair this is a brilliant gaming mouse. It has a look that dazzles, it feels great and it does its job with ease, i wouldn’t pretend to be a great gamer but my brother in law has this now and he has told me this is first class.

So, this is the speedlink decus core gaming mouse. It is currently on offer on amazon at a really good price of £27. So, in the box we get the mouse itself of course, and a quick install guide, which covers all the decus features. Also included is the disc that contains the driver. The mouse will function (as a basic mouse) without using the disk. To unlock the device’s full potential you’ll need to install the disk. It is however always good practice to download the latest version from the manufacturer when possible. The latest versions can fix issues and on occasion add additional features. Speedlink, is a brand that’s not that well known here in the uk.
Speedlink decus limited edition laser gaming mouse with 7 programmable buttons, 5000 dpi – redin the box. The mouse with fitted usb cable and gold plated plug, software disk and instruction booklet. The mouse can be used as a general mouse right out of the box. However, it is very customisable using the software provided. This allows each buttons function to be customised to each particular game. You can set up several games using the macros and save them inside the mouse as it has a memory. I had no problems doing this in windows 7 and 8. However, there are some issues with windows 10 and this will be sorted in an upgrade to the software. Like many other peripherals windows 10 has presented some problems but they will be ironed out.
Update july 2017: i have had this mouse for 22 months and it is used daily. It is still lighting up and working well. I had thought the cloth covered lead would fray but it hasn’t. My son who was using it for gaming has upgraded to a much more expensive logitech mouse but this mouse is still in use as the track pad on my laptop has become unresponsive and i am using this instead. Comfortable and has lasted well. I have played with it a lot now and like it very much, it has 1000hz polling rate(how many times it reports its actions to the computer per second) but you can choose for lower options as the high speed may lag the computer a bit. Its shape is nice although the ring finger rest is a bit short but that’s just my hand shape, also it holds well even on a fingertip user. The buttons are nicely placed and easy to reach and place(apart from the one bellow the wheel), the wheel has a lump for each click and it feels nice and easy to scroll(although it is a bit to easy to scroll in more fast paced games). The wheel button is easy to press and can be pressed from above but also from the left side(by just sliding your finger along the mouse from the left mouse button), something i’ve noticed on other mouses, no idea whether this happens in all mouses or not. It slides nicely along most surfaces, although it is a laser sensor mouse, which can be picky about the surface they are on.
My son has been pestering me for a gaming mouse for a while and this caught my eye. In his words ‘awesome’ – beautifully crafted, fits nicely into his (and my) hand with a very sturdy, businesslike feel to it. But not to the detriment of manoeuvrability on the tabletop. The various controls are well placed around the mouse body and my young warlord has found no problems in setting them up for his favourite games. The body and controls have a lovely non-slip feel to them for maximum grip, and the cable is both generous in length and quite tough, so i imagine it will stand up well to the rigours of teenager gamer use.
I’ve been a pc computer gamer for years and i love this mouse. If you like flash lights and colour its got it all and looks very impressive. It feels even better than it looks. Its comfortable and fits my hands very well. The mouse wheel is smooth and the buttons are very good. Dpi settings are easily configurable. Its a typical of most good gaming mouses i have used being very sensitive but these settings can be adjusted according to what you like. You can program the buttons (all 7) using the software that comes with the mouse. Very easy to install and use.
I adore the futuristic design, it works very well and fit perfectly the price. Not the perfect choice for the palm grip, i can use it only with the claw grip.
Ultimate in ergonomics

This is a nice mouse, slightly let down by not being wireless. Verdict of the teenagers in the house was that the flashing colours are a bit tacky, but don’t let that put you off. It is robust and comfortable. It has handled everything thrown at it and there is no risk of me going back to my old mouse. Serious gamers might worry about the details and prefer a higher spec but this does a great job.
The thing that strikes you first is this mouse glows. The wheel is a medium blue, while the sides and back cylce through six (manly) colours: volcano red, flash yellow, colbalt green, iron blue, midnight blue and tyrian purple. Now that’s out of the way, this is a big mouse. I currently use logitech m705 and performance mx for my pc & mac and the decus core (dc) is bigger than both. Despite having large hands i find the performance mx a bit too ‘ergonomic’ for my liking (and it’s only a right handed mouse), whereas the dc fits better. It fits nicely in my right hand is lighter than the performance mx (mainly as there is no battery inside) so it glides well. Having to plug it in, yep this isn’t wi-fi or bluetooth, means either you need a usb hub on your desk or have the computer close by (i used one of the pc’s front usb ports). The cable is about 6 feet long (180cm-odd for you youngsters) and the wire is clad in what looks like a shoe lace, but is in fact nigh-indestructable nylon paracord (that your pet or child shouldn’t chew through). Both cord and mouse are decked out in a snazzy red & black colouring. Note: the metallic red parts are not as bright / vivid as shown on desciption listing here, it’s actually darker, duller and nicer.
It fits your hand like a fine glove, glides seamlessly along any surface, has amazing accuracy at a decisively low price-to-dpi ratio and, still importantly, looks sexy as hell too (with ultra-arousing colour leds that can be customised to match almost any rig’s colour scheme. )the mouse comes with a moderately convenient driver cd that let’s you modify virtually every decisive factor of the mouse, from the tenacity of your rapid-fire button to the streadiness of your four quick-switch dpi (sensitivity) settings, although it does have an amateurish layout/presentation (e. It mis-spelled ‘papid fire settings’ in the menus, and the driver has yet to be updated in it’s lifetime. )i actually find myself marvelling at the mouse’s aesthetics and ergonomics every so often, and for a £30-£40 mouse, that’s no laughing matter. All the buttons feel noticably more responsive than your average gaming mouse, and the mouse wheel glides under your finger like running water. Finally, the wire is in a sturdy lycra-like material, and the mouse feels pretty durable itself. This is likely to be a long, happy investement if you buy it, so yeah, i say buy this mouse. If you don’t then you should feel bad.
I really do like the mouse, but it’s not as comfortable in my hand. There are grooves for where your fingers can rest and give a good grip of the mouse, but i must hold the mouse a little funny as two fingers lie on top of the raised side of the groove. Potentially this could be very comfortable if you use the palm grip, but i use the claw grip. The mouse is very well made; it doesn’t feel fragile, but feels a little light and makes it feel a little cheap, which is a shame as it handles very well. It is aesthetically pleasing. The colours are vibrant and bright and just makes a simple mouse much more interesting. Overall, i am very pleased with the new mouse and may bump it up to 5 stars when i am used to it.
It feels a little chunky compared to an egg shaped one, and my daughter laughed at me for the way i have my middle finger over the scroll wheel, leaving a moulded finger grip free. It has an extra four buttons which you can program withing game for extra functions, and a nifty way of cycling through five or six coloured leds. Biggest problem i found was it’s dpi setting was so high it took me several attempts to drag it across the screen, so used am i to crappy old mouses. I went back to my old one and my daughter took this one, squealing with glee.
The decus core speed-link sl-6397-bk – laser gaming mouse, usb, red/blacki think at this price it is quite a self-indulgent product. Here are a few key points:^^ it looks a pretty smart gaming mouse in a cool, matt dark red and black colour. ^^ it has a matching red and black corded wire, which is very protective and hardwearing. ^^ the ergonomic design makes it very comfortable to reach all the buttons whilst playing, plus it has a rubberised side grip and wrist rest design. ^^ seven buttons include: 1. Dpi resolution (800dpi, 1600dpi, 2400dpi, 5000dpi) 7.
Ultra-precise laser sensor with adjustable resolution from 400 to 5.000dpi

It is good mouse,it fits big hand very nice and programm what is goming whit it it is wery useful.
My teenage son is newly addicted to gaming, and only recently bought his first gaming mouse, so he was keen to have a go with this one. It certainly looks very impressive with its sharp, sleek design, the vibrant red colour, and the way it lights up in use. He found it very comfortable to use, and was happy with the responsiveness of it compared to the mouse he was used to. He’s left-handed, whilst this is a right-handed mouse, but this wasn’t an issue for him as he prefers to use his right hand for operating the mouse, and have his left free, for the keyboard. We’ve dropped one star, because we simply couldn’t get the driver installation software to work, so whilst he’s quite happy using it with it’s default settings, we simply haven’t been able to customise it at all.
This is a fairly ok quality mouse featuring ergonomic sculpting for a really good comfort fit. Although it did take a while to get used to it as it is a big mouse. If you have small to medium hand, at first you may feel a little stretched out. Installation was easy enough and the drivers were downloaded from the manufacturer and seem to work under windows 10. The drivers do not work as nicely as some of the more expensive gaming mice. With more expensive mice when trying to change mouse button you just click on the keyboard key you want and it is done. On this one you seem to have to set up a macro to do this, which i didn’t find that straightforward. I say it is a fairly ok quality because the palm rest at the back has much thinner plastic and as such bleeds light which kind of kills the whole lighting effect on some of the colours red and yellow mainly. It could do with being maybe black with some sort of texture to let you grip with the palm more but still with parts that let out light. The cord is generously long and nicely braided so no problems there and with no batteries the mouse feels light.
Very good mouse, never had a problem with it and the dpi settings are just right for me. Only difficulty i had was programming the buttons but that was more a user error than software.
This is a nice looking and very ergonomic mouse, it fits well in my right hand, but not so well in my left (its not been designed for left handers) the default controls luckily are very intuitive one scroll wheel and 6 other buttons. The mouse also lights up and scrolls through colours although you should be able to change that if you want. Which brings us to that which lets this down is as my son has found out the interface software which is used if you want to define your own buttons, is useless and seems to be incompatible as others have said with windows 10 which is why i said luckily the presets are good. My son who is quite computer literate has tried a number of thins even examining the config files to try and understand what is going on but so far no luck. We will report back if a solution is found.
The description states ergonomic, and it’s absolutely true – an incrediblycomfortable mouse, which is a pleasure to use (my hand is medium sized, and itfits fine, but would still be very comfortable with a larger hand). The mouseprovides support for all parts of your hand, including the fourth and littlefingers. Though the way it is curved so perfectly to provide this support doesmean that it’s hard to lift up, which is something that might cause some fpsplayers problems, though this shouldn’t be a problem if you utilise the mouse’sability to change sensitivity with just the click of a button – very handyindeed. It moves smoothly across flat surfaces and is a pleasure to wield. Theextra button by your index finger is very useful and relatively easy to reach. The scrolling bar is easy to move, grip and you can feel a slight click as itmoves into its next position – particularly useful for switching weapons in game(or similar functions). The wire is hardwearing and flexible, which makes iteasy to use – though it can get bent and tangled easily if unplugged, but that’snot much of a problemif you want a really comfortable mouse, then this fits the bill – though it’sparticularly spectacular if you’re going to use it for pc gaming. The only minor drawback is that it’s such an attractive mouse, it may result inyou lapsing in concentration mid-game and dying.
The decus is one amongst five units currently on offer in the speedlink range – this one is one down from the top model kudos z-9. The mouse itself is fairly large – approx. 125mm x 70mm – and has plenty of glowing colours to entertain the eye. The ergonomics and styling of the mouse enable it to fit in the hand well, but only for right handed users. It’s useable with the left hand, but clearly intended for the right. Personally i find it a bit over styled, and would prefer something a little more compact. The cord length is adequate – 180cm (just under 6 feet) but i can’t help wondering why it isn’t wi-fi given the cost of the mouse. I can see the benefits of some features, including rapid fire button and the dpi switch for 800, 1600, 2400, 5000 but the adjustable lighting effect colours are a short term gimmick for me. Set up is easy – as i would expect any mouse to be – and it’s compatible with windows xp, vista, 7, 8 and (presumably) 10. As a mouse that works and fits in the (right) hand this is a good gaming add-on, but if it was wireless it could be so much better.
On/off switchable LED illumination with 6 breathtaking colours

7 programmable buttons incl.
