Sigma 19mm f/2 : This is a wonderful lens, I’m not a complete beginner when it
A bit slow to auto focus on my sony a6300.
This is a nice prime wide angle lens at a reasonable pricei enjoy using it for landscape shots and anytime i need something wider than my sigma 30mm prime or sony 55-210mm lenseswell worth the money & always nice to get a lens pocket & sun shade included with sigmasi use this lens with my sony a6000 (which uses the sony “e mount”)the only drawback with the sigmas is your don’t have optical image stabilization so shooting video without a tripod can be a bit less smooth.
Very pleased with lens, extremely sharp for the money.
Essential lens for my sony alpha cameras. I’m not even sure if sony make a similar lens, but the reviews online of the sigma 19mm f/2. 8 dn are so good it was a no brainer to buy it.
Nice quality but hunts a big too much and violently. Making for unusable footage in low light situations.
Purchased as a cheaper alternative to the panasonic 20mm f1. Very happy with the compact size and improved dof with the wider aperture compared to my kit lens. Closer focussing distance is a bonus too.
Not this excellent quality as the 30mm or 60mm, but very very ok, and a fantastic price/quality ratio.
I had read good things about this lens both online and in trade publications. I am still assessing the lens on my olympus omd 10 and olympus pen epm-1. It’s an okay lens, good value for money but it’s not got the ‘wow’ factor of the olympus or panasonic lenses i own, but then it is a far cheaper price. The ‘art’ label is a clue to the fact that it isn’t a lens of the finest of optical quality, with visible vignetting on the images. Also my lens makes a worrying rattling sound as if an optic is loose, and if this persists or worsens i will request a refund or replacement from amazon.

It’s great, you get what you pay for. I can not fault the lense for what it is. Obviously if you pay more money you get better glass. I would definitely recommend it.
Well made and fits snuggly to my om-d. Focuses quickly with minimum noise. Plenty of contrast and sharp enough for screen and a3 print. Very pleased with it as a general everyday lens. In between wide angle 14mm and 25mm so wide enough without distortion of perspective or bringing the subject too close. Good to get a lens hood included. Advisable to use a uv filter as the curved front element feels a bit vulnerable to scratching.
One thing you will notice with mft lenses, and that’s the price. Expensivei almost didn’t invest in an omd em10 because the mft lenses seemed expensive compared to other systems. Only sigma seemed to have addressed this issue with a range of great looking lenses at great prices, which are also great lenses. No, you won’t get jaw dropping bokeh, not from a 2. 8, nor is it super fast, but it is still fast enough for most purposes, and the more you use it, the more you will fall in love with this great looking all rounder. I’ve used it as a general walk about lens, the 38mm equivalent focal length makes this suitable for street, and everyday use, it’s also not bad close up ( not macro, but a few inches is close enough) long exposures doing light painting have produced impressive results with the omd om10. You also get a lens hood, and a lens pouch, something the other lens manufacturers who charge considerably more, omiti hope sigma go on to give us more great lenses, a faster 25/1. 8 to rival oly/pana’s offerings would surely put the cat among the pigeons.
I bought this lens before a recent trip to nyc and i have to say, the image quality for the price is remarkable. Don’t get me wrong, you can pay more on a lens for nex and get better results but when you compare the images side by side, its difficult to justify the large increase in cost. The fact that you get a case and a hood for this too, is the cherry on top as you do not have to go out and spend more money to complete the kit. Overall, this was my lens of choice while away for 80% of the photos i took, instead of using the kit lens but gave me some flexibility in not having to switch to my 50mm 1. On previous trips i found myself having to use the 50mm much more due to lighting conditions or faster moving objects that the kit lens just couldn’t handle. If you are looking for an upgrade to the standard nex kit lens, i would thoroughly recommend one of the sigma lenses whether it be this, the 30mm or the 60mm and you wont be breaking the bank to do it either.
This is a wonderful lens, i’m not a complete beginner when it comes to photography, but i couldn’t decipher the shots from a particular body and lens combination in the same detail as most lens reviewers. To my eyes though the results yielded from this lens and my olympus e-pl5 camera are fantastic and on a whole new level of sharpness and definition from any other lenses i’ve used. To my mind this lens is unbeatable at this price. I bought one of the open box units from amazon warehouse and it was as new in it’s original box with lens case and hood. It even looks great with it’s metal finish and stubby lens hood, it matches the olympus body very well and feels great in the hands just walking about. I’ll probably purchase the 60mm equivelant at some stage. My only bugbear with my purchase relates to amazon. I am in kinross, 8 miles from the dunfermline depot it was dispatched from. The dates on the box show it was packaged on the 8th of november, i never received it until the 12th, they obviously prepared and then hung onto the parcel before dispatching it seeing as i hadn’t paid any extra for fast delivery. Never encountered this from amazon, i get their reasoning, but it’s pretty poor really.
Utterly brilliant piece of kit.
The lens is very sharp, nice colors, good value.
8 dn se fit lens – silveri really do like this lens. I use it mainly for night shots with my sony a6000. The star burst and bokeh you get from it is great. For the money you really need one in your camera bag.
Sigma is a good brand and i’ve had a couple of their lenses. This felt like a well constructed, good value budget lens, but on my sony a6000 the continuous auto-focus (which i uses all the time) seems to be confined to the very centre of the field of view. But if that’s not a problem for you, then i can say the auto-focus was fast and quiet and the price makes it a no-brainer.

Excellent lens – using on a sony a600.
These sigma prime lenses for sony e-mount mirrorless cameras are secret gems. I get outstanding results with my a6000 in a very small and light weight package.
Takes great, clear images, especially portraits. Can get a bit too contrasty in bright sunlight, however.
Good lens for the price, though not as sharp as the olympus 45mm.
Superb quality lens and totally at home on an olympus pen or om-d , makes a fantastic street photography lens with top notch image quality and fats auto focus.
Bearing in mind the price, this is an excellent performer on my aps-c camera. Well built and comes complete with lens hood and padded nylon zipped case.
Colours are slightly different to the stock lenses but they’re still nice. Not an awful lot sharper than the 15-55mm kit lens.
Looks great, nice build quality, comes with hood and padded case, can produced good photos with rich colours. Not the sharpest or fastest. Smooth focus ring takes a bit of getting used to. A good lens for the price but don’t expect it to compete with lenses that cost twice the price.

Transforms pictures taken with the gh2. Works well in auto modes also. Far better than the kit lens.
Nice lens, works well in fairly low light.
Focus not quick as sony lens, but image quality is great, like it.
8 dn se fit lens – silveri purchased this lens to fit my sony a6000 camera. Having read some great reviews on this lens, i was not surprised that it performed well. I was surprised to find it performed much better than i expected though. The contrast and sharpness of this lens is at better than i thought it would be for the price. My camera has an aps-c sensor rated as a 1. 6 crop which makes this roughly 30mm equivalent on a 35mm film camera. This is a great focal length for everyday sightseeing pictures as well as having great creative potential. 8 means that, compared to normal kit lenses, you have a couple of stops more light and significant control over depth of field.
Works great on my sony nex and gives a much sharper picture.
Much better than stock lens 16-50mm in terms of sharpness. The focal length is just ideal for novice street photography and landscapes as well.
Terrific value for money an excellent prime lens and must have for your omd.
