perixx PX-1100 Backlit Gaming Keyboard – /Blue/Purple Backlit – Brightness Control Wheel – Adjustable Palm rest – UK Layout – OK, but probably not worth £40.
Great keyboard, very sturdy and love the options that this keyboard gives.
I’m always worried about buying a keyboard without physically seeing it first, but i have no regrets about buying the px-1100 (uk edition). Although it is billed as a gaming keyboard it is also one of the easiest keyboards i have ever typed on, and the build quality is absolutely fantastic (it weighs a ton). It comes with a 2 year warranty but feel like it will last much longer then that. Changing the colour/brightness is a nice feature, although i agree that the purple is a bit pinkish. The only thing to note is that the uk edition features px-1100 stamped across the spacebar- a very minor point but one that isn’t clear from the pictures. Fantastic keyboard, outperforms keyboards i’ve used that are double the price and beyond.
I was searching for a gaming keyboard for a while, and this 1 looked like it ticked all the boxes and it certainly does. I had a normal dell desktop keyboard for 5-6 years, but was looking for an edge with mmo gaming. Plus notes very sturdy build and the keys are really good quality the 3 color lighting is just a bonus , the whole feel just oozes quality nuff said. One minus in my opinion , the raising clips at the back of the keyboard are a little lower than what i am used too ie i like it to be a little more tilted towards me when i am in sloth mode. 5 stars is 5 stars thank you perixx.
Bought to replace the missus old illuminated keyboard which was suffering with sticky keys and faded keys. She is well impressed with this one however had 2 points worth mentioning. The keys are higher and slightly larger than her previous keyboard so this will take a short time to get used to. The keyboard does not remember what colour setting you last used. It reverts back to the default blue on pc startups. This can get a bit irritating after a while changing this each time. Otherwise, a great keyboard for the price.
I bought this keyboard in april 2014 and after thousands of hours of gaming, it’s still going strongall the keys, switches and lights feel like they did from day one. The coating on the plastic body has taken a beating, but it still looks more than presentable.

I was planning to get a razer keyboard but i felt like the brand was just over priced, needless to say this keyboard is absolutely amazing, has 3 colours to choose from & a nice palm rest so typing is a blast. Gaming on this keyboard is so enjoyable and stress free.
This was keyboard for my 16 year old. I had my own perixx keyboard (1200 model) and mouse for few years and can’t fault them. I used them for gaming and everyday use. Good quality and long lasting products.
I have never been happier with a purchase. I was sceptical about buying such an expensive keyboard (i don’t spend more than £10 on anything) but i love this like a baby. The keys are a really nice texture, not cheap plasticy feeling. The hand rest is a nice added piece and i was surprised at how much it makes a difference. The led lights are great and you can adjust the level of them with the dial. There’s a nice aqua blue, ruby red and a pinky/purple which you can switch between and turn off with a button. They’re nice and bright too so you can easily see them at night and when they’re turned off or in the day the letters are white so they’re still highly visible which the cheaper keyboards sometimes don’t have. Music and volume can also be controlled from the buttons which is a massive plus for me. A massive worry for me when buying a keyboard was if it was going to be ‘clicky’ and unstable like the old school keyboards. Even though it isn’t mechanical it almost feels like it.
For the price i cant fault it. I purchased it due to it being able to change from, blue red and purple, and wasn’t paying a premium price for a product that does the same thing as this keyboard. Windows 10 instantly recognises it the second it’s plugged in. I love the volume, pause and play buttons on the top right of the keyboard (because i’m lazy) and saves me a few clicks in the task-bar on the desktop.
I have tried many keyboards and they all seem to fail in functionality in some way. I was initially concerned about this one because the price was so reasonable for what was offered. However it turned out to be the best keyboard i have had in many years. It is well made and the lights can be dimmed on a rotary dial. It has a soft touch surround and a hand rest that actually work (detachable if you don’t want it). It would be nice if the back light stayed on the colour of my choice, but it always reverts to blue on reboot. But that is a minor niggle as many people will like the blue. I use it for gaming and photoshop, two very different uses and it functions well.
This keyboard is the same design as the saitek eclipse ii which i bought this to replace. It has the same weight which gives you a feeling of quality. Keys have a good responsive feel to them. The media function keys and dimmer dial all work in the same manner as the saitek and function as you would expect. One thing that was disappointing and i feel the wording used in the description and marketing is slightly misleading on is that the keys are not illuminated as in the description. They are only ‘backlit’ as per the title and the light comes from around the keys but not through them, unlike the saitek that this is undoubtedly based on. With the saitek, the lettering on the keys is translucent and so the light from underneath illuminates the lettering and keys making it much easier to use in the dark. This keyboard however misses out and lacks that functionality. The keys are not as illuminated as the pictures would indicate which leads me to think that the keys may originally have been illuminated but that has been dropped to save costs. Disappointing, but the keyboard still functions well, though not as well in the dark as it could.
I’ve now had this keyboard for a number of years and it is just perfect in many ways. It is not only one of the most aesthetically pleasing keyboards i have laid my eyes on, but it’s functionality is exceptional for its very reasonable price. The aesthetics behind this keyboard are easy on the eye. The ability to change the colour and brightness of the keyboard makes for an ever changing appearance. There was not a single second that i did not enjoy the way this keyboard looked. The smooth glossed finished that made the keys easy on the touch, and the matte textured finish on the surround edges of the keyboard that made it a joy to handle. The functions of this keyboard are endless. However my favourite of them all were the media keys, i myself spend a lot of time in full-window games with music in the background. These media keys allowed me to stay full-screened in my game whilst i changed, paused or played music, including the ability to mute or change the volume. This proves extremely confident and ergonomic for someone like myself.
Back in 2009, i bought a ‘saitek eclipse ii’ keyboard. This, apart from some trivial cosmetic differences, is exactly the same thing. The old one still works perfectly, but some of the key legends have worn out from use. That could have been avoided with two-shot moulding using transparent plastic, but that ain’t gonna happen at this price. 99 all-in, this was a couple of quid cheaper than in 2009, so i really can’t complain. I’m not a gamer: i haven’t the foggiest notion whether this is a good keyboard for gamers. I bought it because it glows in the dark. If you want a keyboard that glows in the dark, i don’t know a better one :-). Here are the specifications for the perixx PX-1100 Backlit Gaming Keyboard – /Blue/Purple Backlit – Brightness Control Wheel – Adjustable Palm rest – UK Layout:

This is the second perixx keyboard i’ve had. I usually try to get a new keyboard every year or so (even if my old one is still nearly perfect, like now) and always usually get something different. While this is a different model then my last, i’m keeping with the brand. Perixx keyboards are fantastic keyboards for the price, the lights really add personality and they’re so comfortable to use. I’m a hardcore gamer and writing my own novel, so my keyboards get a lot of use (or should i say abuse?) and perixx is the only one able to keep up. I will only ever buy perixx keyboards from now on.
I bought this to replace a steelseries shift keyboard that i managed to spill a whole glass of water over, what attracted me most to the perixx px-1100 was the great price. The lights looked pretty too. I have been using the keyboard for a really long time now (sorry i forgot how long, i know this matters to some people. ) and so far it has been nothing short of fantastic. The keys are responsive and they make just the right amount of ‘noise’ when typing to the point where it’s strangely therapeutic. The wrist guard was mostly an inconvenience for me as i didn’t even manage to get it on (i couldn’t even get it on to my steelseries shift mentioned above so no biggie). Dota 2, league of legends, diablo 3 and a small selection of fps games (arma 3, far cry 3) are some of the games i have tried this keyboard with and it really does perform. As some of you may know, the first few games mentioned require a ton of keyboard interaction and the px-1100 remains comfortable, yet effective, whilst staying reliable in a long gaming session. If you’re in the market for a gaming keyboard – or you’ve broken your old steelseries/razer keyboard in a tragic accident and don’t want to dish out £60+ for a new one – look no further than the px-1100, or any perixx keyboard actually.
The build quality is good and lighting function works well. The positive key response may be good for gamers but feels very inefficient for typing. Think i would get rsi on no time at all typing on this all day due to key weight spring tension.
This keyboard seems to be the same or a replacement of the saitek eclipse ii keyboard. It isn’t a mechanical keyboard (which for the price you might have thought it’d be) but it’s not that bad. However the shiny parts of the keyboard are a fingerprint magnet. Having a matte or dull finish would have been nice. One thing you don’t get from the product pictures is that the keyboard has a large enter key, which i quite like. I can’t stand keyboards with the small version. However it does have the product name (px-1100) printed on the spacebar which is to its detriment. I quite liked the look of the plain space bar it has in the picture. I guess with some rubbing alcohol it can be removed (not sure if it’d affect the warranty though). It is quite heavy compared to my last keyboard (saitek eclipse ii) and whether that’s to make it feel like a high quality item i don’t know, but it seems to be functioning okay.
I type a bit and game a bit and so needed an above average keyboard but didn’t want to splash out for a mechanical one. The keys are responsive and quite soft, and well angled in response to the fingers’ down strike. The adjustable palm rest is useful but doesn’t feel sturdy and will doubtless break. The left ctrl button is lower than the other keys to make it easy for the little finger to glide down and find it. Having said all that, compared to budget keyboards for under £10, this doesn’t feel like £40 well spent (£20-25 would have been fairer). I went to pc world and sampled all the keyboards in their gaming section, and concluded that the razer series was nice, and if money were less of an object i’d go for one of those. Anyway, i’ll probably keep this because i can’t be bothered returning it. Maybe look at the cheaper perixx keyboards as i’m sure they’re very similar to this though without the palm rest.
The backlit keys are great quality, the layout is great, i use a foam wrist wrest instead of the one that comes with it.
Reviews from purchasers :

Finally, a keyboard that works well. Highly recommended.

Not the best quality for the price

So far so good – finding it hard to get used to the

This is a semi reasonable price for a backlit gaming keyboard so i won’t be too harsh. Aesthetically i can’t really fault it – the backlighting looks awesome and the brightness is fully adjustable via a knob near the media controls. It’s comfortable to use thanks to the wrist rest (though i did expect it to be padded like my previous keyboard, oh well) and fairly quiet compared to other keyboards i have used. However there are some niggles that prevent me from giving it 5 stars. Every time you turn the pc on, even from stand by, it reverts back to the original blue colour. I know there are ways to change this because my mouse which also has backlighting stays the same colour permanently. It’s just laziness on perixx’s part. I don’t like the fact it has the model number on the space bar, something that isn’t made clear from the photos, it looks quite odd. As previously stated the wrist support isn’t padded at all so it feels very cheap. I haven’t decided whether or not i will bother keeping this as it’s really annoying to have to change the colour every time i turn my pc on as i don’t have it on all the time.
So i’ve spent dozens of hours looking for a good keyboard. I wanted quality, gaming, back lit (with different colors and adjustable brightness). Also the keyboard had to look and feel normal (classic), even when lit. I’ve had it for few months and it’s still perfect. Seriously, it’s the best cost to quality ratio on the market and you won’t be disappointed.
Nice board for the price, its not going to blow your mind but its a decent board. Key presses are sufficient, again nothing awesome but its quiet and has a decent feel. Selection of lighting colours and brightness control, i just wish it was only the keys that were lit up and not the whole board. One thing i will say for this board is the rest. They are usualy a pain in the rear and just get in the way and seem to be an after thought more than a design feature, i usualy don’t even unwrap them, here however the rest is very well done, its adjustable which made me even more sceptical but it works and works well. Its not piece of crap that was chucked into the box ‘just because’ the board works way better with it than without it. And due the board being very shallow without the rest its doesn’t take up half your desk space with it attached. Its also very comfortable to use. Considering i usualy hate these things i was surprised by its design and function. 2 stage risers on the back are also good and very usefull. Again its nothing super special but it does what it does well, and its growing on me the more i use it. Yea i think its a decent board.
I’d start with the packaging the keyboard came in was less then satisfactory as it was bashed, ripped and looks like someone opened it from the side, it came in it’s original box thus the damaged keyboard box is none collectible which makes me annoyed. As for the keyboard it’s self, i am typing this review with it as we speak, the keys are soft and easy to type with no confusion of where they are placed, the back light is nice and not over powering, the wrist support is a bit flimsy but works well. For first impressions i would recommend this keyboard to others.
Im quite a big fan of perixx so much so i have about 4 of their products. Its just a shame 2 of them i could never find or get cheap of amazon and had to go to ebuyer. But anywaysthe keyboard itself is nice and comfortable to type on. Tho the keys do require a bit more pressure to push down in order for the keys to register. But for the price and style its a very nice looking keyboardonly gripe i have with it – is the backlit led’s under the spacebar, they are so out of alignment that depending on how youre sitting and no matter how or where you look at, that led will be constantly shinning in your eyes (see picture)you might not be able to tell the difference but the space bar area has the most oddest led coverage, while heading down to the numpad itself its very dim compared to the restthe px-1100 on the space bar is not even fully lit up because here is only 2 led’s under the there and 1 is on the left and the second is is barely reaching the middlebut hey for the money you pay for it, you get what you get.
It’s a great keyboard, the arm rest makes it comfortable to use, the feedback on the keys is just right and it’s control panel comes in handy. My wasd key’s have started eroding but that’s to be expected with most keyboards.

I’ve had this keyboard for a good few years now (3 or 4?) and it’s lasted well. I have just noticed that the print on the letters e, d and c keys are just starting to fade, but all the rest are fine. I like the option to be able to change colour, as i wish (i love the purple) but i do wish you could select the colour you want to be default rather than having to change it from blue every time you turn on the pc. No complaints, nothing has gone wrong on it, it works well, can recommend if you’re after a basic keyboard that allows you to type.
Keyboards are a very personal thing. I have tried many in the past and this is about as good as i have found. It is a bit bulky and clunky but don’t let that put you off.
I like the adjustable lights and the plug and play functionality of the keyboard. However, the keys are a bit too soft for me. Retrospectively i would have got a more expensive mechanical keyboard, but if you’re tied by price, this keyboard will suit perfectly well.
There are only a couple of things that bug me about this keyboard, but other than those i am very pleased with this keyboard. First of all, some of the printing looks a little ‘cheap’, where it has started to bleed a little bit, and is a little ‘blurred’. Secondly, the lighting isn’t very bright, so you can’t see the light through the key lettering, which is what i expected. Thirdly and finally, the palm rest isn’t very grippy, so is a little bit useless when you have the keyboard raised on the adjustable feet, but it is length adjustable to 3 positions, which i didn’t expect, and is a nice touch. Those are my only gripes, and they don’t really bother me that much. The keyboard when typing feels amazing. The keys are soft and responsive, and are finished in matte, meaning my fingers don’t slide everywhere when typing or gaming. They are also appropriately spaced and sized, so you’re not pressing more keys than you wanted to. Haven’t had a chance to use the multimedia keys, but the lighting key (on the same sort of button as the multimedia key) feels solid and smooth, so i assume the multimedia keys are too. Overall, a fantastic keyboard and worth your money.
My logitech media keyboard was getting pretty old and i decided to purchase a replacement. I went for another basic logitech keyboard (k120) and was disappointed with the quality and noise (considering how cheap it was i wasn’t that surprised). I then decided to research gaming keyboards and after lots of searching found this one. I was reluctant to spend over £40 on a keyboard so the price of the px-1100 was pretty good and i spent a lot of time reading the reviews. My first impressions are very good; the keyboard is heavy and does not move around on my desk. When i move the keyboard to a different angle whilst gaming there is no squeaking (k120 was really squeaky) and the keys are very quiet (useful at night) and have a real quality feel about them. The lighting is a bit of a gimmick, one which i’ve turned off but i can see how it would be useful to those that play in the dark. The media buttons are useful and work well; in fact the only downside i’ve found is that the material the keyboard is made of seems to be a bit of a dust magnet. So much so that i’ve just ordered a perixx gaming mouse (which will be hopefully of similar build quality).
I have been using this keyboard for a few months and it has been a great addition to my desktop. The keys feel durable and have a nice amount of travel when pressing them. The keyboard itself has a nice weight to it, making it feel a lot more premium than its price. I have found the colour wheel to be a bit useless – i have not touched it since the day i bought the keyboard to test out what it could do. It would have made a lot more sense for it to be a volume wheel instead. Otherwise, i can’t fault this keyboard and would definitely recommend it.

As i do a lot of work and study at my computer i wanted a keyboard i could use in low light conditions instead of having to turn the light on. To this end, i bought this keyboard after having put it off for a while because of looking for a unit that confirmed it had full sized keys. This keyboard stood out to me because it has a range of colours available from the same unit that can be selected at the press of a button (same button that scrolls through available colours). The problem i have with it is that it doesn’t play well with linux because pressing the button to cycle through available colours causes the system to either block or allow a given action to be carried out on any of the four colour settings (including none). When this happens, the only way to resolve it is to reboot the computer. I don’t know if this is because it’s a faulty unit or that perixx in their infinite wisdom only decided to check compatibility with m$ windows so those with one of the the various versions of windows may not have the same problem. That being said, if the desired colour is chosen prior to rebooting the device and not changed once booted, there should be no problems. I will try plugging it in through a ps2 converter next to see if the problem remains.
This keyboard with the light up keys removes the need for a lamp at night when game playing and the brightness is adjustable so you can tone it down easily.
I have been using it now for about a month and it is an exceptionally good keyboard for the price. I am a student and require a good keyboard for typing out essays and lecture notes something that not only does this keyboard allow me to do, but unlike many other keyboards that i have tried it allows me to do it comfortably thanks to the overall key design and the handy xl palm rest that comes with the keyboard. Apart from the work side i also spend a fair amount of time online playing computer games such as dota 2, league of legends, starcraft 2 etc. All very keyboard intense games requiring multiple key bindings etc. Although this keyboard doesn’t offer any add-on keys specifically for the user to macro to suit a function for example call the courier like in dota, i found this not to be an issue as i am using an mmo based mouse that allows for 9 keys to be bound souly to that, i only really needed my keyboard for basic commands that i could do around the wasd keys. There is 1 downside to this keyboard that being the back-lighting, specifically for me i have a duronic monitor stand that places my monitors roughly 15 inches above my keyboard with the monitor facing down so this could effect it but in my opinion i found that the keyboards back-lighting although good in terms of it having it, doesn’t have the brightest setting that i thought it would, currently my entire system and peripherals are illuminated blue unfortunately i have to illuminate my keyboard red as i found it the brightest led’s that they have. Overall i would recommend the keyboard as it is very comfortable to type on, easy to setup and generally looks great, i will say however that if you work in a dark environment where the back lighting is important to you then maybe look into another keyboard as although this lighting is satisfactory for my day to day use i dont believe that it should be the keyboards main seller as many people are identifying it to be.
Seeing the resemblance to an old saitek eclipse i had years ago, i enquired with perixx. . Turns out that this *is* the saitek eclipse ii and originally perixx just rebranded. I feel this version looks a bit more premium with the rubberised soft touch surround, however. The board itself weighs (a lot) and has good feel to the key depressions. More sturdily built than most keyboards these days. The plastic is good and strong, so it does feel solid when bashing away at the keys. My only gripe is the legs which are on the flimsy side – something more solid and chunky would be worth it. This is what had broken on my previous saitek board. Well worth the 30squid though.
This is a swap out for another of the same that had lasted years. Very nice positive keys with a full enter and arrow key. As i am very picky i did a sight mode – the bottom row of keys: ctl win alt sp alt win menu ctl, show a little too much light at the angle i use it at. My solution was to cut some 4 mm strips of black electricians tape (to cover 3 keys at a time) and carefully place just below the keys.
Keyboard works perfectly as descirbed amazing for the price. Only gripe is the backlight could be bright but its no dealbraeker, very happy with it.

So far so good – finding it hard to get used to the higher keys on this keyboard compared to my older one. I’m finding for my fatter man fingers that the keys are a little bit closer spaced than i would like – sometimes suffering from multiple simultaneous keystrokes when typing – but it’s early days yet and i imagine my brain will soon adjust to the new layout – the pressure required per keystroke is minimal and it’s very comfortable to sue. The wife loves hers (i bought two) and she’s a dedicated touch typsitthe illumination is useful when working at night with the main lights off – but it can also be a little distracting – i would like to have seen more emphasis given to directing the light more into the keys themselves and less spill out around the keys. Make the alpha numerics more visible without having to filter out the lower light spill out from behind the keys – this is slightly distracting – for this reason it only gets the four stars.
Uk buyer here and it comes as standard uk layout. 3 backlight colours, play/pase, stop, next, prev, mute button. Slider to change brightness of backlight. Cant recommend this enoughstandard feel to the keys but the weight of the plastic and finish are well worth paying the extra for. I use it for casual gaming (civ6, fps games etc) amd day to day stuff (office work, browsing) and im contemplating buying a 2nd for when this one is worked into the ground. Its very tough to find a keyboard with all the mm buttons that is backlit and has a standard uk layout which also features a right click key. Maybe im a super niche market but this keyboard ticks all the boxes for me.
The post perixx PX-1100 Backlit Gaming Keyboard – /Blue/Purple Backlit – Brightness Control Wheel – Adjustable Palm rest – UK Layout –
OK, but probably not worth £40.
