Meike MK-35mm F1 : Worth the money
Not very bright when wide open, great outdoor lens and sharp.
For the price you are getting a very well realised lens. Good center sharpness and totally usable edge sharpness. Excellent if you are keeping it wide open for portraits although it is a little soft so sometimes best to step to f2 or so. Colours are good and it renders a lovely image. It has that certain something that is hard to pinpoint in manual vintage lenses, maybe it’s the softness, i think it’s more that it’s got character. Build quality at the moment is great. Very smooth turning aperture and focus rings. The fact that it’s made for aps-c and for the e mount means no adapter rings like when i use old lenses which keeps the size down. This with the sony kit pz lens is a very portable packagehave ordered the 50mm as well as its that good.
Very good prime lens for the price you pay. As already expected it is a manual lens, as a family man it takes great photos but when the little critters starts running around better to use something with auto focus. Apart from that very good images.
We get brainwashed by advertising when it comes to photography. People, youtubers and companies are paid to sell us the utterly ridiculous life changing reasons for buying similar branded af lenses costing thousands. Any photographic hero you may aspire to be, certainly didn’t have digital cameras let alone phase detect auto focus and weather sealed kit. If photography is your business then buy whatever makes money for you, if you shoot super fast moving objects then stick with af lenses. I bought this to fit my fuji x-pro 1. I take portrait shots in my own pace. I think about the shot and set my camera for it. This is a well built metal lens. It has no image issues that i can find so far (500 shots).
Although i ended up biting the bullet and purchasing the fujifilm xf 35mm f1. I donated the meike mk 35mm f 1. 7 to a photography student and she is happy with it and geeting decent image results.
A very well made manual lens. If fitting to fuji xmount remember to go to menu and in the button section select ‘no lens’. If you do not do this it will not work. The aperture and focus is entirely manual and the aperture will not show up in the camera. Focusing is critical and the lens is very sharp but at wide apertures it is tricky.
Good quality, fair price, smooth focus and aperture rings, sturdy. Bokeh is acceptable on an aps-c sony mirrorless.
Was looking for a cheap lens and i am not disappointed with the quality and the price.
- Waste no time and buy this lens
- Great for the price
- Simply impressive

It’s a very good value for money 35mm lens. For full frame, you need to switch the aps-c size capture on, otherwise it has very strong vignetting. Good for experimenting on 35mm.
Since i cashed out to buy a sony a6000, i couldn’t afford to buy a sony or sigma prime lens with big aperture and native auto-focus. I decided to invest on this inexpensive lens after all the positive reviews i read and watched on youtube. After having it for almost a week now, i am really happy with the lens and i totally recommend it to those who do not want to spend a lot of cash or just want to add another prime to their collection. It feels sturdier than the kit lens (sony sel1650). The focus and aperture rings are click-less and operate really smoothly. – good image quality and great bokeh. I am not very experienced with other lenses, but in comparison with the kit lens, the quality is quite nice. Plus it produces a soft blurry background (f1. 7) which is perfect for portraiture and other artistic shots.
Beautiful images from this lens. Think i could change all my lenses to manual.
I bought this for my fujifilm x-pro1, it does such an amazing job. I’m glad i bought this instead of a high end lens that would’ve emptied at least £500 from my bank. If you’re looking for a cheap 3rd party lens 100% get this. You won’t be disappointed.
Overall great lens for the price. Focus ring is smooth and easy to use. The only two things are the green-bluish chromatic aberrations, which are not too crazy at all an easily fixable in post, and it doesn’t handle lens flares that well. I really enjoy using this lens. It has been on my camera a lot.
Added this to the glassware, solid 35mm. The build is great and i’ve been very happy with the results. This is great lens for anyone looking to shoot 35mm on a budget.
Not really put through its paces but it works with the camera and manual operation for video is great. I’m sure it has its own character which will help with the night filming its been used for.
This lens has met my expectations. The performance is very good and has saved me spending £320 plus pounds for the sony 35mms 1. I,he only had this lens for less than a week but have tested it quite extensively on my a6000. First of i must emphasis that you must focus this lens very accurately i found that using leaking is not accurate enough and needs tweaking in the magnification setting. When i do this i get very sharp images. I,be set my picture to vivid with the sharpness at 3. This way i have had sharp and to me great colour rendition. If you don’t need the speed of auto focus this lens is a real bargain purchase and i’m sure become even more capable with practise.
