Mad Catz PixArt PMW3310 Optical Sensor Module, Amazing mouse. I’m doing a full user review for

Fantastic mouse i have large hands and normal mice are very difficult for me to use and you can adjust just about everything on it, absolutely great for gaming, definitely recommend.
Very expensive but wow it is great. The response is fantastic but i can’t give it 5 stars as it lacks some of the best features from the rat 7 and 9 which allowed for adjustable pinky and thumb rests for larger hands. Also, the palm rest just clips in where the rat 7 had a manual release to be able to adjust. I have had excitable moments where the palm rest has scrunched in due to pressure and then it no longer fits my hand properly and requires adjusting again.
I have a rat9 but this mouse , albeit , a lot lighter is much more responsive , and i love the profile selector. Yes it is expensive but if you love the rat range this is definetly the upgrade path to go.
Pros: lightweight, adjustable palm rest, changeable sensors. Cons: palm rest is wobbly, rear thumb button has high depress force which results in the mouse moving when it is pressed. I have large hands and prefer the fit of the r. 7 in comparison to the pro x (have both). The thumb section is not adjustable on the pro x either, which does affect long term comfort for me. In some fps games, i map the thumb buttons to melee on the 7, which does not work so well on the x due to the high press force required – you need to clamp the mouse with your pinky to anchor it, resulting in tiredness and on-screen movement when you press the button – this also makes accuracy difficult at crucial moments. The pinky rests are interchangeable, which is great, however, the pinky-lift portion does not have a rest, so there’s no ideal option for me. I like having a pinky rest, and would like to have a rest and lift in one. Perhaps cyborg have plans to make these parts available at a later date. The swappable sensors are a nice touch, as is the lightness of the mouse. However, i feel build quality of the plastic parts is not reflective of the asking price. Seems most of one’s money is going into the chassis, and the option to swap sensors. There is the possibility my expectations are marred by the comfort of the r.
It’s accurate and comfortable but the big problem is that the company has gone bust so you can’t get the drivers off their website and if you ever have a problem with it there will be no support. If you spend enough time searching the internet you can find the drivers.
I’m doing a full user review for my clansite at present. Com/forum/page/3/m/28206608/viewthread/19219600-gaming-mice-reviewstestingpricesi have about a 100 or more gaming mice and this is the gem in the collection. Only for those who are serious gamers though, due to it’s price which just seems to be going up on amazon. The nearest to this is possibly the razer ouroboros which is a favourite of mine. Alot of money but there is alot in the box. You’ll be half an hour just sorting the bits out. The side thumbs are kind of unique, not felt anything like them before, they’re rather like triggers than buttons.
Previously i had been using the rat 9 (r9) which has been one of the best mice i have ever had, and due to my age, that’s a long time . Primarily i use the mouse for gaming and some office work. Firstly the negatives; i am slightly disappointed with the rat pro x. One of the joys of the r9, was the way it was totally configurable including the weight and angle of the thumb rest. Having big hands and suffering from rsi, the ability to configure the angle of the rests was a real benefit. I had assumed that the r pro x would be an evolution, yet retained these features, unfortunately it does not. Furthermore the software (sw) the new mouse comes with, is as buggy as hell and difficult to configure, even when you have it seems to lose the configuration regularly and you have to set it up again. That said i have no doubt they will be improving the sw at some point. It still has lots of opportunity to customise and configure.

Great Mouse, but missing the best features of the RAT 7
,
RAT 9 (R9) which has been one of the best mice I have ever had
,
fantastic mouse
“

It was a gift to my friend, and he loves it.
My mouse came with the 5200 , i have now fitted this module and it works a treat and very responsive.
Don’t have much time to write, but am sorry to tell you that the rat 9 is the mouse i keep on coming back to – it’s solid, durable, well made, and will function as you wish whether you are a pro or an average user. I do in fact own two rat pro x’s (don’t ask me why) one laser, one optical), plus a razer mamba – the rat 9 has them all beat. I had great expectations of the pro x’s but mine have had quality problems – and they just do not have the solid feel of the rat 9 – the pro x’s look good and are light – if such attributes are important to you. Oh and if you can tell the difference between the optical and the laser sensors you are a better man (or woman) than i.
I did a huge review on this ratprox for my clansite. my one developed a fault after about a month. The dpi lights didn’t come on, at least only when the dpi button was pressed. Madcatz replaced it straight away without even a whimper. I must have about a 100 gaming mice now, no, not joking. The is definitely out there. The ratprox is an attempt in my opinion to give a pro gaming mouse that’s not shaped like a steelseries sensai, you know, that simple shape that pro gamers can do tricks with. Honestly, think they have succeeded. A very fast mouse and you need to be very good to do it justice. ]
The special ‘kill’ button is the reason to buy this, once pressed, a swat team (or teams) will crash through your enemies doors, thus distracting them and allowing you to win. Other than that, its an ordinary mouse, with good build quality and enough buttons to satisfy anyone.
