D&F Auto Focus Macro Extension Tube Set Close-Ups : Five Stars

Although the tubes work brilliantly once attached to my cannon eos 700d (i am able to control the lens aperture and auto focus) within 15 minutes of trying them out the release catch on the longest tube has stopped working and the middle tube release is iffy. The manufacturer contacted me based on my previous review and sent replacements directly from their factory. I have played with these and tested the catches and they are working fine and feel much more solid than my first set. Based on the second set and the quality of the response from the manufacturer i am more than happy to now give 4 stars.

goes between the lens and camera body. Note you have to get the camera closer to the object it doesn’t just give you more zoom from afar (i don’t know if that differs from macro lenses). Anyway all of the above is common to this type of device. As to this particular one it seems well made, everything clips together nice and solid. Has all the electrical connections through to the actual lens so you don’t lose any functionality. Comes with a little storage pouch and end caps.

Simple effective, well packaged. Decent build quality which truthfully i wasn’t expecting. Would love to do business with the supplier/ manufacturer more.

This did exactly what i wanted at a good price. Well worth it and recommended.

A nice introduction to extension tubes, the only thing missing was a good users guide, but there’s plenty of information out there. If your on a budget, these are the ones.

I was so delighted to purchase a set of macro tubes with electrical connectivity so cheaply. I use them with a cannon 5diii.

Fair value for money, not the highest quality feeling product in the world, but if you are in the market for macro extension tubes and are a beginning photographer, these are a great starting place. I own a canon 4000d, i find the extension tubes fit the camera body moderately well, with some slight difficulty with the 31mm tube against the body. The shape of the connection could be better for an easier and more consistent fit, but they work with some fiddling. These add some nice versatility to nearly any lens. With low mm lenses, getting focus can be difficult if not impossible, beware. (for my 18-55mm at 18mm, the subject would need to be inside the lens to get it focused. (as far as my testing has gone, not a professional photographer).

I thought the fit a little tight. But this may well be due to engineering tolerances. Which could wear in with use. Stick to the golden rule attach to camera first and attach the lens to the tubes last. . I would now say i am very pleased with the quality of this product.

A bit of a fiddly fit to the camera body but works ok.

I thought that i had just broken my new camera when i tried this out since it behaves differently tothe other canon lenses. Play around with it before attaching it to your camerato figure it out. You just push the metalic levers towards down (towards the camera if it was attachedto the camera). This lets you rotate and take off the extension. As i said, try it out and very easy. The extension tubes are like i had seen on youtube and let me take lovely pics of bees and flowers, veryclose, to get big zoomed in images with fine structure of the bees wing and more. I have played around withit a bit, as in a few goes in the back garden, and once of my favourite purchases.

They were not expensive, but work and look quite professional.

Does the job nicely without breaking the bank.

These are great, fast delivery, super value for money. The sample pics are taken with an 18-55mm kit lens with 18mp camera the close up one with the fibres is just a 100% crop of the other photo to give an idea of the detail you can achieve. Quality of the tubes are pretty good, the switch/clippy things work fine everything is as should be. If i was to have a gripe about anything its that they can feel a little ‘gritty’ when attaching them to each other. There is no grit or anything, its just the type of plastic feels a little ‘sticky’ not a big gripe tho. Id definitely buy them again. Autofocus works, aperture works, but i prefer manual on a static subject. Worth buying to dip your toes into the macro world.

Very good and have proved a positive purchase.

I recommend reading the description. You will find exactly what you need. These extensions are for macro.

Have used it and tubes work fine, locking pins seem to work fine and for the price they do the job.

Found these really easy to use and took some good pictures with them.

Perfect for photography fans – very realistic.

Bought this for my first dslr, a canon eos 800d. I needed to take some macro shots where the kit lens with close up mode wasn’t enough. The cheap method is to use extension tubes instead of buying a proper macro lens. I didn’t want to spend that much on a macro lens either. I’ll get straight to the negative. The tubes fit into the body nice and snug. However my kit lens is not a snug fit to each of the 3 tubes. You can move the lens slightly in all directions, most noticeable when you rotate the lens focus ring. They do work but the loose connection between the lens and the tubes are no good.

When using all 3 tubes with my eos system, both ef and ef-s lens types failed to auto-focus correctly and continued to hunt for focus. Using a single extension did not show this problem. However as this flaw is obviously a design problem in the electrical contacts , and the product is advertised as working fully with the in built metering, it isn’t acceptable and it’s likely that i’ll return it.
