Razer DeathStalker Chroma RGB Backlight Membrane Gaming Keyboard – Great keyboard for gamers!
I bought this as a christmas present for my boyfriend. He initially wanted a mechanical keyboard by razer but is happy with this version as he feels it has freer movement around the keyboard with the lower keys. The backlight colours are impressive with such an array of colours to choose from. I was happy with the price of this keyboard as he was so happy with the quality of it. I would recommend this product.
It was finally time for an upgrade, i had been watching the price of these for quite some time, so i decided to bag one in the end of year sales. Yesstraight off the bat, the presentation and design of the box is great. The packaging of the product is great. In fact i can’t bring myself to throw the box away, so i have shelved it for now. The welcome pack of documents inside is a great touch from razer, it almost feels like the company are treating you as an individual and not just ‘any old customer’ when you read them. The quality of the keyboard feels robust and sturdy, but is still quite light. I find the deathstalker expert is very comfortable to use, the wrist rest is of a nice size and angle, so long gaming sessions can (and will) become much more frequent. The membrane keys feel great and i find they are reasonably quiet. The install was a breeze, it was great to see the led backlight appear for the first time, bathing my face in the traditional razer green colour.
Very good keyboard with very good backlight. Has 3 zones of programmable rgb lights. Isn’t the most silent keyboard but isn’t loud either. The only disadvantage is that the left shift is too small which in the item description and in the front of the original box it shows the large shift. I don’t know why mine it came with small shift and the character ‘\’ between ‘shift’ and ‘z’.
I have a mechanical gaming keyboard but finding typing on it to feel clunky and loud. After some shopping around i decided to go for this keyboard. I’d read one or two negative reviews but took a chance on this anyway as it looked good in the photos. On opening the box i was nicely surprised a sit looked just as good as the pictures; some reviews claim is slips around but this keyboard does have rubber feet and doesn’t move at all for me. The styling of the keyboard is great, its very flat and i also really like the green back-lit keys. However, by far the biggest plus point for me so far is the typing experience. It’s very comfortable and the flat chiclet keys feel great to type with. It’s a fairly expensive keyboard but overall this keyboard has exceeded my expectations. The only criticism i have is that the keyboard is all plastic so you don’t get that super premium feel, it would be stunning in metal but then it would be triple the price.Still i would definitely recommend this keyboard.
I was a slight bit sceptical when i order this keyboard as i have had 3 other razer keyboards in the past, the lycosa, and 2 blackwidows, but when my blackwidow keyboard died, i wasn’t sure i would be able to revert back to low profile keys, but using the deathstalker to write this and playing some games, this is a great product, with some amazing build quality and would defiantly recommend for both gaming and home office use.

This is a decent keyboard for a decent price. While this may be a membrane keyboard rather than a’holy grail’ mechanical keyboard, it is perfectly capable. This is a lot quieter then a mechanical keyboard, a lot sleeker/slim-lined and has plenty of functions to allow to maximize your abilities while using it; whether this be gaming, typing or anything else. While the back-light may not be to everyone’s taste it is easy enough to turn it off or adjust its intensity. My only issue, which has now subsided after use, is that it feels different to ‘normal’ keyboards; however this is my personal feeling, other may instantly love how it feels. One concern i had before i purchased was whether it was a uk version; i can confirm that this is indeed a uk qwerty keyboard with the usual £ and € signs.
I bought this keyboard for gaming about six months ago now, here are some of my thoughts. I wanted a keyboard good for games such as minecraft, battlefield 4, watch_dogs and more. When i opened the keyboard, it had a few guides to do with the warranty and how to set it up, as well as a couple of razer stickers. Naturally, being excited i just plugged it in and the stunning back lights came on and i was ready to game. All it takes is a 30 second download and you are typing. This keyboard is good for gaming and typing essays, although if you aren’t a particular fan of gaming you would be better of getting a different razer keyboard, as this has flat keys and is not what most people are used to for typing. There is also a software which you can download of the razer website called razer synapse 2. This allows you to assign different keys to do different things, as well as turn off certain keys for when you are gaming. For example, i have made the enter key on the number pad to the right open steam and the + key on the numberpad to open minecraft.
As comfortable to play games with as it is to write lengthy documents. I think it looks pretty great too although that’s personal taste of course. Owing to the plastic build, the keyboard does flex when force is applied to the center but this is not noticeable in day to day use. I also would have liked dedicated media buttons instead of having play/pause and volume controls embedded into the function keys; the razer synapse software thankfully makes it very easy to solve this issue though. For those who don’t like mechanical keyboards (i generally find them too noisy when typing), then this keyboard is probably your best choice.
Initially bought a £30 gaming keyboard. Which came faulty and after a days use had other problems. I decided to throw £25 more at amazon and ordered this keyboard. What can i say…as soon as you start unpacking the product, the quality hits you in the face. The keyboard itself is rugged, good looking and programmable. Have been gaming on it a lot lately and nothing worth noting. Yes – its a little more expensive than other keyboards, but worth it. I can see this thing lasting a few years. One thing i would say is that the keys do come across as a little stiff.
As a gift for a young teenager, this meets the brief adequately. Not only is razer a recognisable brand, worthy of that all important approval from the peer group, but the keyboard features a bright multicoloured pulsing backlit design. I think the appearance would appeal to teens much more than adult gamers but anybody who likes their gadgets, quite literally, flashy would be pleased by the design of this keyboard. This is a wired keyboard and was literally a ‘plug and play’ device when connected up to a monitor. No software was necessary and this was recognised immediately once connected. On initial set up, the keyboard is set to pulse between alternate key colours every few seconds. Many of the features on the keyboard can to customised to meet individual preferences using the free razer synapse programme. This was straightforward enough for my tech-savvy teen to install and use without any adult input. (bearing in mind this is the same child that seems to be unable to locate a bin, washing basket or dishwasher. )as a non gamer, i have tried to use this keyboard for basic typing and didn’t find it as intuitive to use as expected, despite being a confident touch typer.
As comfortable to play games with as it is to write lengthy documents. I think it looks pretty great too although that’s personal taste of course. I really like the feel and look of the buttons. And this is the best backlit i’ve ever seen. The letters only are glowing, and no any side light. The buttons pressing is very accurate and the keyboard itself is very responsive.
Really great product from razer, here is some points:pro’s:- good and nice build quality. – colour control is awesome. – well designed for hand rest for gaming. Con’s:- razer program seems to sometimes forget about the colour changes if not updated. – hard to get used to from a mechanical keyboard (expected though)- colours dont show huge differences between some shades of the same colour.
Purchased to use at work to replace a keyboard which was giving me really bad hand cramp. The keys have a really nice activation sound, and do not feel to heavy to press but still have a slight resistance that lets you know the key has been pressed. The backlight is a bit ostentatious in an office environment, but worth it for the comfort of typing. Second death stalker keyboard iv now bought first was for me now the missus needed one for her new gaming setup. Completely bulletproof product and the best keyboard out there for the price.
I purchased this keyboard on the 8 august 2017 – and it still holds up to this day. Usually i don’t expect to keep keyboards/mice for that long, especially a mid range if not low range razer keyboard, as they just don’t seem to last very long unless you suck it up and spend some crazy money (and even then it’s still a gamble). But with weekly cleaning, and a lot of rage induced desk slams, this keyboard still performs as it should. If it did end up faulty, i would buy another, as it is so comfortable and sleek, and the key clearance is perfect for gaming. If you buy this, you wont regret it.
Already a big fan of razer products and i purchased this keyboard specifically for work use. I’ve had it for a couple of months and use it on a daily basis and don’t have anything bad to say about it. I do have some trouble getting the synapse software to work on my computer and still haven’t managed to do it although it does work on other computers.
On top of the ability to customize the back lighting to your hearts desire, the 10 key rollover improves gaming abilities, and the low profile keys make each press instant, (no travel time like on mechanical with raised keys)i recommend this especially if your’e using a razer mouse and or mouse pad.
This is the first time i have spent more than £25 on a keyboard and at over twice the price, i wasn’t sure. However, going on the rave reviews i decided that it must be great. Initially i wasn’t that impressed with this keyboard. I am used to using a mechanical keyboard at work and the one’s we have are fairly solid. This is similar to the keyboard on my macbook, but the keys seem less sturdy. They wobble a little bit and seem to lack definition. I have now been using it for around two weeks and safe to say it’s grown on me. It’s a comfortable keyboard to use and it’s quiet, which makes a change from what i’m used to. Backlit keys are always a good idea, as with a standard keyboard you find that frequent and repeated key presses wears off the paint. It also makes it a great deal easier to use in the dark.
Definitely worth the purchase. I had a deathstalker before i bought my blackwidow chroma. As much as i loved the blackwidow it was just too noisy. Every key press was being picked up on my microphone. This keyboard is a nice compromise. Not as customization as the blackwidow though. You can only set the entire keyboard’s colours whereas on the blackwidow you can set a colour for each individual key. Not as colourful, but a heck of a lot quieter. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a good substitute for a very noist bit of kit.

A well made keyboard with some minor grievances

Pure Gaming Keyboard

Bought this to replace a dell alienware keyboard that i was becoming rather frustrated with, due to some of the keys (notably the space bar) becoming rather wobbly and unresponsive. I researched a few keyboards before settling on this one and noticed a lot of fuss being made about mechanical switches (particularly the cherry mx type), regarding their accuracy, feel / responsiveness and anti-ghosting properties, but in the end decided that a chiclet type keyboard was for me. Chiclet keys are much smaller, with shorter travel distances and just seem to suit my typing style much better. Overall this keyboard is a pretty straightforward piece of kit. No banks of special function keys, screens or usb ports, as found on higher-spec models. It is still built with the gamer in mind though, as 2 of the standard function keys enable macros to be recorded and disable the windows key (no more accidentally switching to your desktop mid-battle). It can also be configured using the synapse software (not included – you have to go to the razer website to download this). So, not the fanciest keyboard around, but it does the business for me.
Great keyboard, so far had this for a week but can see this lasting me for at least the next two yearspros:- near silent keys, so great for streamers and content creators. – rgb backlighting, though only has 3 zones which may be a negative for some. – reprogrammable keys for any gamers, especially good for mmorpgs and mobas. – though plastic, this keyboard has a very sturdy build quality and does not feel cheap in the slightest. – back legs for angled wrist support. Cons:- only has 3 zone lighting and does not support individual key lighting. – is not mechanical, though for the same price a good mechanical alternative to this would be the logitech g410 atlas spectrum, or possibly a razer ornata with a mecha-membrane switch set. – light which may be a negative for some.
After receiving this in the mail, i was impressed from opening the product, to trying it out for the first time. The packaging is extremely high quality. I am extremely impressed, i have only encountered maybe one company with as good packaging as razer. The keyboard looks great, and i love the green glow under the keys. It feels even better, and is very natural to use. Currently i use a mac, as i mainly play world of warcraft (but also do a lot of design/animation work) – even though i cannot use the software, everything maps perfectly, and warcraft i have just set up in game. I look forward to when i can get a pc again, and really use this to it’s potential. I would recommend razer products to anyone looking for gaming gear or high quality hardware.
Perfect besides one small flaw that probably wont matter to most people. If i power down my pc and unplug it from the wall, when i turn my pc back on the previous lighting profile doesnt load back up. I have to unplug my keyboard from the back of my pc and then plug it back in for it to light back up. This seems to be a problem with thre keyboard as i also have a razer mouse and the light profile for that perfectly loads every time, again besides that very small gripe this is an awesome keyboard.
I have had this keyboard for a month or two now, and i still love itthe keys are very well made, very easy to glide across the keyboard and very nice for gaming. As someone who primarily started on a laptop, and having a quiet(ish) keyboard was a necessity in my build, i went for this. And whilst the keystrokes aren’t silent, they are nowhere near as loud as a traditional keyboard. The backlight is very nice, i wish i could choose custom sets of keys to be backlit. You need the next keyboard up for that capability. Overall a great buy, although the wrist-rest is far too big.
This keyboard is a brilliant piece of kit. I’ve never really treated myself on buying a good quality keyboard until now and my god it is worth it. Obviously as this is my first high end keyboard i wanted to make sure i was getting the right thing for my money, so i watched a lot of reviews and to be honest most of them were throwing hate towards this keyboard saying that it was built well and it felt cheap and it was too flexible well i completely disagree. For someone just getting in to playing video games on the pc then this is your buy. It’s awesome for productivity and is super quick and responsive. The keys feel so pleasurable to touch and the backlighting is so cool. In my opinion this is the best looking keyboard made by razer and i would recommend this to anyone starting gaming on the pc.

They only thing i don’t like so far is the backlight on the enter key. It’s uneven and sometimes it bothers me. I don’t like noise so this is better for me than the mechanical keyboards. Fully programmable so i’ll finally have some use for the keys on the right (i’m using the the numbers above).
This is an amazing piece of tech (i’m typing on it right now). It is extremely fast and precise. Whenever i use a different keyboard i keep missing keys, because the 2mm click distance is easy to get used to. Haven’t had a single problem with it and it’s really easy to use with the green color light from the inside, makes working in dark really comfortable. Also looks impressive when lights turned off. A great buy if looking for a gaming keyboard or simply a really great one.
This is a great keyboard, the keys are amazing for gaming and general typing, and do not take that much pressure to push in. They are low-profile keys too, which is nice. They also aren’t that loud either, certainly not as loud as your average mechanical keyboard. The wrist west (or whatever you call it) is a nice addition too, as it supports you hand while typing and furiously tapping the wasd keys while playing an hardcore fps match. The only problem i had with it is that after a while, the r of the enter key was not lit up, if that was me or razer i don’t know. Also, i have heard that the wrist wrest gets dirty easy and is quite difficult to clean, but i have not had this problem, so i cannot say much on that subject. They also choose a weird font too. I can read it alright, but others may have difficulty. I gave it a 4 star only because of the r not lighting up on the enter key, and this could cause other back lights to fail as well. But from my experience, this is a really great gaming keyboard, and would recommend it to any of my friends.
There’s two things that are sort-of annoying but ultimately do not really change the product performance as such. 1) there’s small ridges around the wrist-rest which are tiny, but they collect dust and dirt. It’s quite hard to get in there to get the bits of dirt out as well. This is just a build up of dead skin from the wrists and probably is more so a design-flaw than anything else. 2) the keys are sometimes overly sensitive. You can press a key once, and get two of the same letter. It’s very inconsistent but after hours of use, you may notice it and perceive it to happen quite frequently, but i can assure you it does not. Everything else is awesome, down to the lighting customisation and overall aesthetics of the keyboard.
I’ve been looking for something that is as good as my razer blade laptop keyboard. I do not use it for gaming but a lot of coding. I tried the apple magic keyboard which i would say has a nicer key feel but the keyboard is too small to be comfortable. This is the best full-size keyboard i have used.
Best non mechanical gaming keyboard i’ve used. Does show a bit of finger grease but easily cleaned. Feels high quality like most razer products. I’ve seen some negative reviews on youtube and to be honest the things they have complained about haven’t been an issue at all e. Is great for typing as well as gaming. Really wish i had one in workedit: one year on i have knocked a star off as my w key had started to go funny due to overuse in gaming. It required more pressure to activate and stay activated in games. Didn’t have an impact on typing but something must have gotten compressed overtime making it of no more use for serious gaming.

I’ve had this for about 8 months now and found no major problems with it. The keys are stylishly placed low which means crumbs cant get into the keyboard at all, and they make it look beautiful. The lights are really nice, and with razer’s software they can be customized near-limitlessly. My only gripe is that when i put the keyboard on the slowest ‘wave’ settings (to give the impression that each key was a different colour, but in fact the colours were just slowly moving to the left across the keys) there was a quiet high-pitched noise coming from the lights. This was barely noticable though, especially with headphones on, and was fixed now that i use the ‘spectrum cycling’ colour mode.
I bought this keyboard to replace a very noisy mechanical keyboard, as the computer sits in a lounge room and the sounds of me mashing buttons on my old one was driving anyone else in the lounge room mad. The keyboard is well made, and feels good. It’s got high quality plastic components. The keys are soft to the touch, much like a laptops with positive feedback, though not on the same level as a mechanical keyboard. They can get slightly slippy when playing a game. The green lighting is nice enough, subtle without the garishness of rgb keyboards and excellent in the dark. A minor grievance is there are no physical indentations on the keyboard, so you have to look at the keyboard to centre yourself sometimes. In summary, a well made keyboard with some minor grievances but the added bonus of being a lot quieter than a mechanical keyboard.
It’s a good keyboard but gaming wise it’s terrible i built my first gaming pc back in february i bought this because of the brand wish i payed attention to reviews because this is terrible for gaming but overall good keyboard would recommend to a kid for the rgb but for a gamer get a mechanical.
Excellent plug, download and play. The software is easy to use, every key is programmable and the key action is lovely. It’s not silent but i’ve gone right off mechanical keys and their rattle and this is a vast improvement. The quality of build is there and yes the wrist rest makes this a large board but it too has been perfectly designed and manufactured so is simply quality to use. Wish i’d paid the price years ago.
If you’re like me and don’t require extra macro buttons, even though you play mmorpg, and you like a more ‘laptop’ type of keyboard with low profile keys, then this is the keyboard you should buy. As i’ve now almost used it for a full year and haven’t had a single issue with it, i can safely say that this is the best keyboard i’ve ever had, and that’s coming from a past steelseries supporter. Keys are responsive as they should be, legs that keeps the keyboard tilted are strongly built and very sturdy. And even though i was afraid of getting the us version of the enter key as it shows in the image, i got the eu standard ‘big’ enter key. Also worth mentioning is that most razer products wants to be set up via razer synapse (software), i’m using it without this software and it works just as good, so it’s not software dependant, as any keyboard shouldn’t be. I definitely recommend buying this product.
A perfect investment for any gamer. This keyboard is a delightful bit of engineering. The box that the keyboard is packaged in is even well designed. I purchased this to replace a faulty wireless keyboard(i know, some gamer i was) and instantly felt comfortable with the layout and feel of the new board. Being backlit allows for the keys to be clear and perfectly at all times and with the added feature of adjusting the brightness makes it that bit better. The wrist rest is comfortable and slightly textured for comfort. Each key provides satisfying response any time it is pressed so you know you’re hitting the right keys. While being a slightly large keyboard is, however, a very compact board compared to some of the alternatives out there. With the software that razer provides on their website to allow users to program macros into certain key presses and the option of switching on gaming mode which disables or enables certain options during game play makes this keyboard a highly functional piece of technology. Overall, for comfort, ease of use, and functionality i’d recommend this to anyone looking to upgrade their keyboard.

Had this keyboard for over a year now and i love it, great feel when using my pc which provides less of a strain on my hands when i am on my pc for an extended period of time so i may not need to take as many breaks. Aswell as this the keyboard provides a variety of different features and macros such as the feature which allows you to input up to 10 keys at once which may be played on will which may come in handy for gamers were you may need to use multiple keys at once in a short amount of time. A downside to this razer keyboard however is that it can become dirty very quick meaning if the keyboard isnt cleaned every now and again it will start to form gunk under and on top of the keys.
