Razer Taipan Expert Ambidextrous Gaming Mouse – Fab

Comfortable (right handed), looks good in white although dirt is easily seen. Middle-click broken after 2 years (only registers 1/10 times), and if dust or hair gets inside the optical hole mouse movement registers wonkily. Two buttons on left are the same as the two buttons on the right unfortunately. Apart from all that, great mouse.

Exactly what i was looking for.

Really good mouse good feel smooth operation works well, i have one issue however which is that often when i’m browsing the internet etc. I often accidentally press the side buttons as they require very light pressure to operate which can mean i end up going back a page when i didn’t want to. But all in all a good mouse especially for gaming. I also think it looks like a tornado gr4 which is just an added bonus for me, you probably wont care though.

This is my first ever review and truthfully i am not impressed with this product. Scroll function jitters creating a bad experience.

Smooth glide, great feel in the hands, perfect for right or left handed gamers. Only comment is it feels a little on the light side (great to avoid strain but perhaps a little more weight would feel more reassuring).

Superb mouse for ambidextrous or left handed individuals. The quality justifies the price.

  • Best white gaming mouse there is!!!

  • Amazing wired mouse for left and right handed gamers alike

  • Great all round mouse, not without software issues and over use faults

I had a razer deathadder for six years, and would not have changed it for anything, until i tried the taipan and simply had to get one. An extremely comfortable mouse to use, your hand sits perfectly on this mouse. The side buttons placed on each side let right handed and left handed people use it without any difference. Sleek and modern design, overall, an extremely sexy mouse :d.

I chose this mouse because i’m not a fan of the feel of the deathadder. It didn’t fit my hand well when i used it for a time, i decided to look into a lot of mice and chose this. As an fps mouse it works extremely well, it has a bit of weight to it and is perfect for all grip types (i use finger. ) it also works well as an rts mouse due to the four side buttons. While i haven’t used it much as an mmo mouse i can say that it would work but if you’re predominantly an mmo gamer go for the naga as it has more buttons. There is one problem that i have although it’s not as bad as it was since i’m now used to it. They side buttons are extremely sensitive and if you have large fingers then you may find yourself accidentally pressing them a lot.

Bought this to be used with my imac. Works perfectly with synapse. No problems after a weeks use. Nice range of mouse adjustments. Would like another button on the side as this would boost in game ease of play.

Everything about this mouse is a yes. It’s sooo worth it such an amazing mouse havant had a problem with it yet.

Great quality mouse with the ability to customise nearly everything within the software.

Could not get used to the mac mouse so purchased this after using a razor copperhead for the past 7 or so years as a gaming mouse but it was discontinued. Great mouse however the back buttons do not work on os x and as i only use apple computers now not so good.

To be honest its a bit loud at night but with headset is awesome, well designed smooth overal worth the price.

I won’t repeat everything everyone else has said: it is a good quality good looking mouse – exactly as you would expect from razer, on windows 10 with synapse installed it was simple plug and play. However, this mouse is much more narrow than i am used to due to it having been designed to both left and right handed people. Because of this it’s not very comfortable in my opinion. It’s too narrow to rest my palm on properly when using, so i have to adopt a more claw-like grip which i am not used to. I am a, right handed guy with average guy sized hands. Just feel this should be more obvious and apparent before people purchase.

An amazing wired mouse for left and right handed gamers alike. It has a light under the mouse wheel as well as on the logo, but those can both be switched on or off each, at all, via razer synapse (a program that must be installed for any razer product, in order to manage it). Dpi can be set, easily letting me match it to my previous mouse – so i didn’t get any wrist problems. Razer boxes are always sleek and packaged well, got it working in 5 minutes. My hand rests really nicely on the plastic finish – i am 5’9 – and if dirt accumulates on top it can be cleaned off by rubbing it with your hand since the surface is simply plastic. A perfect mouse for a gamer at a nice price too.

I’ve been using a cheapish gaming mouse for 5 years until i updated my mac and it no longer supported it. I am one of those who thought ‘wow why pay so much for a mouse?’. So i was searching for a decent white gaming mouse annd there aren’t much choices, razer only had this one and along with a few others however the taipan, imo was the sleekest, best looking and minimalistic white mouse. I done some research and since i also use the magic mouse for general browsing i thought the taipan fitted perfectly as its ambidextrous which is the same with the magic mouse. I use the gaming mouse for gaming, rpg and mmo and editing photoshoots. It was easy to set up on the mac, plug and play however the buttons came unassigned and requires the razer synapse 2. In there you can change the dpi, assign macros, set different profiles, calibrate your mouse to work with your mousemat, customise the logo light and scroll light. I use to always accidentally click the back side button on the old mouse and thought it was great i can disable this with the razer app if this happened too often however i’ve been using it to browse for several days and i’ve not pressed the back button once. My hands are quite small (a girl) so i feel like it sits on it perfectly, it’s not too high like my previous mouse and not as low as the magic mouse, this can be a pro or a con, depending on what you prefer.

Improved ambidextrous ergonomics

This is an absolute marvel of engineering, it looks absolutely stunning and feels amazing. Amazon dispatched it quickly. Very good detection even at very high dpi.

This mouse is not cheap, but i like the whiteness of it, nice scroll wheel and perfect dpi for me.

Great, a bit small for my hands but perfect for my needs using for a laptop once a week or so.

If it wasn’t for synapse and the fact that this is my third taipan i’ve had due to the middle mouse button failing on me, i’d rate this a 5*. The middle mouse button died due to using it a lot (when i say middle mouse button, i mean the clicking functionality). Synapse is such an awful program, especially when you swap the left and right mouse buttons (if you’re left handed like myself) you have to switch between both of the mouse buttons. Program switching is also painful, when it doesn’t automatically switch back to the windows profile when playing games. If this mouse had on board memory and you’d be able to modify profiles and store them, it’d be a lot better.
