SteelSeries 6Gv2, Gaming Keyboard, Mechanical, Cherry MX Black, (PC / Mac ) – UK QWERTY Layout, fantastic item and fast delivery many thanks.

This is a great keyboard, good for a first mechanical one like it is mine. I found it’s increased my typing speeds greatly and it is a real comfort to use. Very good for use in gaming with good anti-ghosting features built in, with great control keys for media player usage at the top. One thing i would say is that when using these controls, make sure you use the function key in order to make them work. Since it is placed right next to the alt key, which means when you want to pause itunes but accidentally use alt, you close the window you’re working in. Other than that, brilliant piece of kit for the price.

This keyboard is the best one i have used for gaming. No flashy lights or gimmicks, just exactly what you need. Great response times, premium feel, nice and heavy so it doesn’t shift around. No nonsense, just functionality.

I have been looking for a great quality not to expensive mechanical gaming keyboard for a while now and i came across the the 6g v2 gaming keyboard when i was watching nip play a professional match. (nip are the best counter strike go team in the world. ) so i looked around for the keyboard and read some reviews and everywhere said it was a good keyboard. So i ordered it and just go it to day and it is amazing. Once you get a mechanical keyboard you will never switch back. The keyboard does not have flashy lights and macro keys but i don’t use them anyway, its just a simple keyboard of brilliant quality and that does its job as a pro gaming keyboard or casual gaming as good if not better than all the other mechanical keyboards in the market. It works perfectly with no lag and has been instantly been stepping up my game. Also it is a joy to type with and it has improved my typing speed massively. I conclude by saying that this keyboard is a great gaming/writing keyboard and i recommend it to everyone but if you are a mmo player then you should get a keyboard with macros.

I have this keyboard for 4 years and never had an issue. If it ever breaks i will buy the same in a heartbeat. (although i might prefer apex m500 since it’s illuminated.

The best keyboard i have ever used.

This keyboard has a great feel to it. Great for general use and pc gaming. Very heavy so it won’t slide around on your desk. Quite noisy as you might expect from a mechanical keyboard but it’s a nice sound in my opinion. It does have an unusual layout though, with a couple of the keys seemingly swapped around. If you want it to work properly then i’ve made a proper uk layout here for windows 7 and 8, 32 and 64 bit and also osx:http://netizensmith.

First of all, as someone already mentioned, the keyboard has somewhat unusual layout which makes it inconvenient to use for something other than games. Instead of win key on the left they have a useless ‘steelseries’ key. The shifts are short and they have additional buttons beside you’ll keep hitting. I was hoping to remap it but they don’t have any sort of drivers or software for this particular model. Also, because of the unusual positioning and form of the buttons you need to keep your left hand fingers half-crooked to press wasd and space simultaneously. My hand gets tired very fast, but maybe i’ll get used to it. Second, the unit i got has a thick scratch all over fs and is all covered in dust. Looks like it was on a display but amazon doesn’t own retail stores – weird.

Great keyboard, even better value

,

Best mechanical keyboard I’ve used

,

brilliant

This keyboard is sturdy, well made and has a very straight forward design, i can tell this keyboard will last me a very long time. – it has a simple design, so it will go well with any gaming rig. – cherry mx black switches, the sound isn’t too loud or too quiet and feels great to type on. – feels robust and reliable. – perfect size, you don’t need a lot of desk space for this. – no glossy material, so this keyboard isn’t a fingerprint magnet. I originally had the razer blackwidow, however the blue switches were too loud and after two years of using it i felt it was time for a change, i bought the noppoo choc mini with red switches which turned out to be too small, i then ditched mechanical keys and bought the corsair raptor k50 which had a lot of appealing features to it, but got boring after a week to the point where it was just like any other non mechanical keyboard. I finally decided to buy this and it has hit the spot, very pleased. (edit: after 1-2 months of daily use, the painted keys started to wear off (a,s,d keys) – not happy with that at all.

Best keyboard i have ever used. After trying multiple keyboards i knew this was the one for me. Even ordered a second for a friend. Well worth the money even at the highest price. The black mx switches are amazing for gaming and they sound wonderful when typing.

Great, the only thing is it could be written a bit clearer that these are cherry black switchers.

. 1000% better than non mechanical ones. . This is first class keyboardi had thought my typing was getting slower, but using this keyboard has made it clear that the problem was the crappy keyboards i was using. . This is the best price i had seen it at. So ignore the however many weeks it says in the description to allow for delivery. This is well worth the money. . It was well packaged, very well and courier was pleasant and polite.

Great christmas present for my son. Would definately recommend and use again. Cheaper than going to holland for one.

Thanks to marvelous tactile feedback, (cherry mx black switches) this keyboard suits me well in my activities which range from long gaming sessions, writing 20 page documents to data type-in, over 100 page documents text styling and more. It’s nice and basic which makes you feel like you don’t need anything more for work and fun. Solid build quality and weight give it a quality hardware feel. Overall i can recommend it as a well build mechanical keyboard – especially at this price point.

This keyboard is underrated, in my opinion. Not having the windows key on the left is a big help if you are playing games. And black switches are great to type on. I had seen this board used by the likes of idra from evil geniuses but also advertised for a long time. It feels very durable and not too heavy on the desk. I like how compact and simple it is, too. I accidentally bricked my last one after having it for 5 years and this is such good value and understated look (which is rare these days with the rgb craze) i decided to get it again.

Wow, my first mechanical keyboard and i love it. The keys feel really nice press on, the build quality is amazing as i can expect from steel series. The keyboard answers how sturdy it is by no flex and how heavy it is. The only con i have are the fading key lettersthat is why i’m giving it 4/5 stars, but i would seriously recommend this keyboard.

This is the first time i’ve used a mechanical keyboard but i decided to send it back, i don’t think cherry black switches are for me. It’s a great price for what is obviously a very high quality product but at the same time why the hell does it have such a non-standard layout?i work all day in an office a normal uk layout keyboard. I just can’t come home in the evening, try to play a few games or type an email, only to have to get used to a whole new layout. In my opinion we have standard layouts for a reason. That being said it is also very loud and is a lot more effort to use than standard keyboard.

I specifically wanted a mechanical keyboard, lots of expensive options out there but this one was really competitively priced. All in all i really like it, the build quality is fantastic and it weighs a ton and won’t move on your desk. The typing doesn’t have that ‘super clicky’ feel that some of us will really like. The push is a little more soft and requires some practice to get used to. I also liked the keyboard layout with the steelseries button replacing the left windows key, and the large enter key.

Very good, sturdy keyboard, it was in the uk layout which was a pleasant surprise, i was expecting the american style. Nice feel on the mechanical keys, works very well for gaming and typing. It lacks a lot of the ‘pricey’ extras of a lot of gaming keyboards, no macro keys or anything like that, but personally i would never use such things. Its nice and heavy and would double up as a weapon if the time ever called. The ‘windows’ key has been replaced with a ‘steel series’ key on the left side, but you still have the windows key on the right side. This could be irritating i suppose, but as its a rarely used key and you still have access to it on the right, it isn’t the end of the world. The only real problem is an oddly shaped enter and shift key on the right which takes a while to get used to. I really have no idea why they aren’t the typical shapes/sizes, but whatever, after a week or two of typing you won’t even notice this. I’d definitely recommend it.

Fast delivery and the produce is great value for money. The keyboard its self is probably the best gaming keyboard i’ve ever had and it also the cheapest.

It’s extremely good, durable and if you don’t have one, you should.

It took me a long time to figure out which keyboard i liked the most, i’ve owned many other keyboards in the passed, the keys feel a little heavier than my previous keyboards but they’re always very quiet. The keyboard is very strong, this thing weighs a fair bit, it’s certainly not going anywhere on your desk, it also has very grippy rubbers on the bottom. The keys come off nicely for cleaning and the key cap characters still haven’t worn much after seven months. The keyboard is only very slightly elevated which takes a lot of the strain off of your wrists. A very sturdy, long lasting, quality product.

Amazing keyboard used by professional gamers worldwide. However do not be fooled by the pictures on here, this is the english keyboard as stated in the name and uses the uk layout with the small left shift key. Would have loved to see amazon selling the us layout version too but none the less, great keyboard.

Does make some sound due to being mechanical (duh), but is very comfortable otherwise. Never had any problems with it.

Really solid pro keyboard, i use mine for csgo and it’s improved my game no-end. I’ve also put some o-ring key dampeners on them to reduce travel and that’s also really helped.

This is my first steelseries product. If you love old style keyboards you will not be disappointed, they feel of the buttons are perfect. I’m a big sc2 and dota2 fan and this is just brilliant, i like the old style mechanical noises and now i will not consider ever swapping to another keyboard. Although if you want a quite keyboard i would not recommend this and it is quite heavy.

Very good quality key board at a great price comes very well packed my son loves it very good product.

Perfect for world of warcraft. A guy whos moaning about windows key. Windows key is the worst thing in the life of a gamer. Thanks steelseries for removing it.

Firstly, amazon, this isn’t a game, it’s a piece of hardware. It’s not possible to answer a question of ‘how much fun is this game’ when it’s not a game. Anyway, the keyboard is lovely. Solidly built, a lovely, clicky action that i enjoy in a keyboard. Unfortunately, while i enjoy games on occasion i don’t play them much and my main use for the keyboard is for programming. It’s my career and anything that gets in the way of me making money is a severe inconvenience. So, why have they remapped the keyboard so extensively?. For me the || key is used in the c# language, so why is it demoted to an alt-gr key?. Particularly when alt-gr is grabbed by other visual studio add-ons to bring up their application. It’s hassle i don’t need – i actually had to uninstall one of my add-ons to continue to program – ok, it’s not one i used much, but it’s still inconvenient.

I was deliberating over a 3 or 4 star rating, here are my reasons whysummarygreat price for a mechanical keyboard, showing signs of wear after 1 week – concern of durability, keyboard layout may be frustrating to some, permanently angled position may not be comfortable for everyonewhy a 3 star rating?it may be a minor point to most people but after just a week of ownership the keys have already become discoloured. This to me suggests the lifespan of the keys is going to be limited if they cannot withstand a week of use without showing signs of wear. I have owned several different standard and gaming keyboards and never experienced this issue previously. I usually end up throwing them away because the paint has come away from the asdw keys after a long period of time. My other personal frustration is that the left windows key is replaced by a steelseries key used to access media functions. I quite often used the windows key for shortcuts such as opening an explorer window or bringing up the run command. I personally think this keyboard would’ve benefitted from additional multimedia buttons. Why a 4 star rating?the keyboard feels good quality, yes it takes a bit of getting used to the additional pressure needed with a mechanical keyboard but that isn’t unique to this particular model. It feels more responsive than a traditional keyboard and is quite weighty, giving a feeling of sturdinessthe main reason for this rating would be value for money, it’s at a great price point. However if it needs replacing quickly this then becomes false economy.
