MOOBOM DB-A8 Mechanical Feel Gaming Keyboard – Faulty on Delivery

When the product arrived some of the keys weren’t working. These included the fn, n, full-stop key and the windows key. I found that the keyboard itself was alright. The keys were fairly quiet and the feel of the keys definitely felt ‘mechanical like’. If the keyboard actually worked for me then i would have probably rated the keyboard at least a 4 instead.

Misleading it is nit mechanical at all, or mechanical feel but its still a nice keyboard.

It doesnt exactly sound like mechanical but that is okay cause its not mechanical but 1 thing that annoyed me a little bit is that the keyboard doesn’t stick to the table very much , you can easily move it around if it is on your desk , and the lightning isn’t so strong as i expected , its kinda weak at day.

At first look it might not be all that but after you use it for a while it feels really good. I play alot of csgo and i can safely say that this is amazing for the price.

Great keyboard for programmer.

Arrived on time and brilliant looking keyboard, led lights are slightly dull but it doesn’t take away from the appearance. Only negative is that it comes set up in american input language so you will have to change the setting.

A little disappointed that the keyboard layout is not for a uk user, a few keys are in the wrong place, but nothing i can not overcome. I do like using the keyboard as it feels more substantial than a lot of other cheaper alternatives.

As an apple user, it is really hard to find keyboards that function well with macos, but this keyboard does just that, you can hold fn and press any of the function keys to use the mac’s top line functions, and the @ symbol is apart of the number 2, so fits with mac. Colours are cool and easily programmable and sound and feel is on par with all gaming mice in my opinion.

Came well packaged and my 16 year old avid gamer loves it. Very sturdy and looks great.

This is the second ‘mechanical like’ keyboard i have bought recently and i have got to say that typing is very comfortable and for £15 it’s a quality product. Only issue’s are that it is a us keyboard layout, and the led’s highlight sections of the keyboard rather than individual keys, as well as the led’s being pretty weak when set to the brightest setting.

Good however feels cheap and not well made, worth the money.

They send me barely working one. I need to fiddle usb stick in order to get it working and even then, it randomly disconnects. Seems like the wire near usb is broken. Can’t believe they haven’t tested it before sending itedit: after seller contacted me, they send me working one for free, it took quite while to arrive but still, i respect that seller contacted and sent new working one. Keyboard itself, to keep it short, is pretty good. Not excellent but great for the price.

Feels very good, however a key arrived stuck, numpad -. Still works but is stuck and tough. Uses the us layout rather than the uk layout. I like the use of the f keys. Still a very good keyboard though, especially for the price. Here are the specifications for the MOOBOM DB-A8 Mechanical Feel Gaming Keyboard:

Feels good to type on itthe 3 colour glow come really handy at night time working or gaming.

It is a good keyboard for the price. The backlight has 3 colours, red, blue, and purple, which look pretty good, but aren’t the brightest or most even lighting that i have seen, but it is a cheap keyboard. The construction feels pretty solid, and i have no complaints, other than the wire feeling cheap and a little flimsy. The keystrokes are linear and quite nice feeling, much better than a normal membrane keyboard, but not as good as a full mechanical keyboard. For the price, it is awesome.

You can’t really go wrong for the price. It looks nice with 3 different colours and a nice breathing transition setting which can cycle between all 3 colours. The keys themselves are quite tall, taller than most normal keyboards as it try’s to lend itself to be a mechanical looking keyboard, so sometimes i found myself hitting keys by mistake due to their height, but i got used this after a while. The keypress is quite responsive, it does not take much to do a full keypress and the whole key does not need to be pressed all the way down. The noise levels of this keyboard are quite loud and there is no escaping it either, it is as if you are using a typewriter (especially the space key). The glow colours are nice and light fully around the key like a nice drop shadow. However not enough light shines through the keys themselves in dark conditions, you can still see what the keys are but it is nowhere as bright as the shadow area behind the key. All in all for a cheap budget keyboard this gives you the look and feel with some compromises, but based on the price i will give this a 4/5. It would have been a 5/5 if the noise was slightly lower (some keys worse than others) and the keys did not have a sightly loose feel.

This thing feels like a mechanical keyboard but glows like it has superpowers. Can’t see the downside, to be honest.

Good keyboard for the price. Its quite small and not very sturdy, and the keys in some places are abnormal (eg. Enter button is smaller), which can take time getting used to. Would recommend as a compact and relatively cheap gaming keyboard, not so much for someone who types a lot.

W, a, s, and d keys wore away within the first day or two, a few others are starting to fade too, which is fine if you know the layout of a keyboard, but may be a problem for others. Other than that it’s solid for the price, lighting is nice and subtle, and the keys aren’t too loud either. It’s very easy to clean too as it has a small space between the keyboard and the keys, allowing you to blow out any dust or dirt that’s got stuck without removing any keys whatsoever. To sum it up, it’s not the best keyboard, you get what you pay for, and i feel this will last me a decent length of time for the money i’ve paid.

Reviews from purchasers :

  • Can’t complain at price Great if on a budget!

  • Used for months, never failed.

  • US keyboard sold in the UK

It also looks really impressive in dim light with its choice of colours. The only downside is that it is designed for the us and so a few of the keys aren’t bound to what you can see. You can either change to the us version and get used to the layout. Or hope you can touch type from memory. At the moment this keyboard is mainly for gaming so it excels at that.

First keyboard i’ve owned since coming from a laptop. Its very nice to type on, the leds’s are cool etc. Going to take time getting used to. Downside is it’s slippy, it says ‘anti slip’ but i have a normal gaming desk which has a finished wooden top and it still slips when you apply a little amount of force on a key. Even the keyboard stance adjust things dont help it. Overall a nice keyboard and very good for the price :)recommended.

This is a great gaming keyboard , it great alternative to the more expensive mechanical keyboards , i finished all of doom on it , love playing doom and having my key board light up red for a spooky feel.

The keys will scrub off really quick. If you dont game daily it may last longer.

Great buy if your just getting into gaming on the pc as it provides that great mechinal feel and gaming experience at a cheap price this is definitely a must have if your just starting out.

For the price you cannot go wrong with this. Also has a nice clicky sound.

I purchased this keyboard around the 3rd of february 2017, now over a year later the keyboard still works in tip top condition. Its a brilliant keyboard for the price, but the only thing i can say that’s bad about it is the wear on the keyboard. What i mean is eventually the keys will turn white after multiple uses. Iv’e seen the changes just after a couple of months after purchase, but i still think this is a great keyboard and 100% think people should buy it.

I currently use a different keyboard, but this one lasted me well, still works. While they keys can sometimes feel less than tactile, the light helps to see in low light environments with a few different settings. For the cost, i’d say it’s definirly worth it, though saying it has a “mechanical feel” is a little bit exaggerated. The keys feel like a more satisfying membrane than most run of the mill keyboards, but it’s still definitely membrane.

It’s definitely a cheap keyboard, but i suppose it gets the job done and the multiple light options are nice. Be warned though, it is not the standard british keyboard layout as i was expecting when i made my order.

Sometimes buttons dont respond but thats only once every so often, the print on the keys is rubbing off, caps lock power light now stays on all the time, its an okay keyboard. Also note its an american layout.

For a mechanical ‘feel’ keyboard this is good quality and you won’t regret your purchase. Nice range of colour options and shortcuts. Full size keyboard however doesn’t take up a ton of space. This should be expected but if you want top quality you must go for a real mechanical keyboard. Whilst the feel of this keyboard is good it obviously don’t compare to a more expensive professional mechanical keyboard.

Exellent product for its price. While it certainly feels a little similar to a mechanic keyboard, the only real downside (for the keyboard itself) is it doesn’t perform as one. But considering the price, i wouldnt expect many people would believe it feels/functions the exact same as high end gaming keyboards. One big con (reason i deduct a star) is the keyboards wire is incredibly short and extremely low quality, but that really isnt a biggie all things considered.

Would get 5 stars but its a us layout ……. As long as you remember where some of the keys are at (@) ……. Great feel when typing though.
