TAMRON AF 70-300mm F/4-5 : Fantastic!

Not really at 300mm the shots are a little blurry (better at 200mm) even when using a tripod. But in macro mode this lens shines. Allows you to stand back and zoom in really close to your subject. I’ve added some examples below. Ever tried to get that shot of the bee on a flower and every time you go close it moves?. Well with this lens you can. Just stand back push the little slider into macro mode and zoom in upto 1:2 magnification.

For a budget lens this is great value for the money. The auto focus is a bit slow, but it is something that you can deal with. The images are crisp and clear though. It is easy to use and to date i have not had any issues with the lens.

This 70 – 300mm lens takes fantastic photos, even in low light. I have a nikon d3200 camera which takes great pictures so this lens is a greatasset. For the price this is a great buy, you will not be disappointed. The macro that comes built into the lens is a bonus. For 90 quid you can’t go far wrong. Thomson – douglas lanarkshire.

I purchased this for my nikon d3100 for a safari holiday, i am extremely pleased with it, it worked perfectly and took some amazing pictures.

Have this fitted on my canon 1300d. Sure, it can take a little while at times to focus (light, wind, obstructions), but the benefits are there when it does. Sharp images both with the macro on and distant.

This lens is either on my camera, or in the bag with the camera. At 70mm, it’s useable for street and narrowish landscape. The 300mm is a handy length for amateur telephoto; at it’s widest, it’s an f4, so good in lowish light without cranking the iso up; even at 300mm it still opens out to f5. The trick up it’s sleeve is the macro, however. A not too shabby 1:2, and it will zoom all the way in from quite some distance, which is useful if you’re not wanting to disturb wildlife. Drawbacks: there’s no vibration reduction, so shake can be an issue. Bonus: tamron do a 5 year warranty on some lenses. If this one became unusable, would i buy another?.

I adore this lens, have had it nearly 4 weeks and have really tested it out as you can see in the attached images, i find the image quality to be better than any of my other lenses (including nikon) and would personally say that if your thinking about buying this lens, stop thinking about it and add it to your basket it will be one of the best choices you make :)i attached the images to show you it’s various abilities. It’s heavy but not too bad and i i work in manual focus as auto focus can be a bit slow and loud for my liking but then i have always preferred manual focus :).

I was worried that having such a range in zoom would make the lense quality inferior but i was wrong. Great quality throughout the entire range and the autofocus performed very well with my d750. Because the macro is available from the upper ends of the telephoto you’re able to take great macro shots without having to get too close to the subject matter. I’ve also found it particularly good for portraits at between 100-150mm, losing depth of field really nicely. Very happy with it and would comfortably recommend,.

Very happy with this zoom which i’m using with my canon 80d. The focusing is decently quick for action/ sports. Only downside is the chromatic aberration which lightroom fixes for me, and the zoom dial is quite stiff. Overall, well worth it if you don’t want to break the bank. Or if you decide to spend more in the future, this would be a decent back up lens. Will you get better results if you spend another 500eur?. But this is perfectly fine for the vast majority.
