Razer Widow Ultimate Stealth 2014 Elite Mechanical USB Gaming Keyboard : Great keyboard, little loud but I guess that’s what
Having admitted i do want some gaming kit to feed my hobby and help keep up with the serious gamers, i bought this both for this purpose and also as a really good keyboard for work (hence the stealth, so clicking keys aren’t heard on calls). Compared to the top of the range you only get green, not multi-colour, and the 2014 doesn’t do the fancy lighting effects (ripples, etc). Flip side is it’s cheaper and the actual key switches are the same and just as robust. Have to say i’m delighted with it and it does feel like it will take years of use/abuse with no issues. The actual keys are silent as advertised, but are wonderful to use and far more predictable/accurate than my old keyboards (logitech & microsoft £30 offerings) such that even if you only hit the edge of the key it still responds perfectly. This translates into a great typing experience for work, and also a very accurate and real improvement in my fps performance – i can now hold my own in battlefrontoverall i think this is one of those things where the price is a shock initially, but like my weber bbq, will translate into a much smarter investment over it’s lifetime and a reduced cost per year. I am delighted with this and would recommend to others, both as a gaming keyboard but also if you want a really good keyboard for typing.
Reasonable price, really great keyboard, while i was worried about the noise this is the stealth edition and still makes a fair amount of noise but no where near as loud as the normal.
The keyboard is fantastic, my son is over the moon with it. Next delivery was also very good service.
Utterly superb keyboard with a lovely typing action, pleasantly quiet after the irritating noise of my old cherry mx blue keyboard. I can’t recommend this keyboard highly enough.
Love this keyboard, the stealth is worth getting.
After using this keyboard for over 6 months i thought it was about time i let people know how i got on with it. The one thing i didn’t want was very loud clicks, but wanted to enjoy the feedback mech keyboards give you, the blackwidow does that perfectly. Its not too loud, and gives enough feedback when you press the keys. The colours can’t be changed, so you are stuck with the green. I also, encountered a moment of madness where i split a glass of water all over the keyboard. This stopped a few keys working, however after leaving it for a day, with the keys off, next to the radiator, it started working again and has not faulted once. At the end of the day, this is just a keyboard, with a bit of a steep price tag for some people, however, its lovely to type on. If you have the money, and have looked at this product for a while, i’d urge you to go for it and give it a go. Just try not to spill water on it.
Bought this so i could see the keys. It is very solid and will stand up to years of abuse. Being mechanical it is quite clunky and quite a bit noisier than i was lead to believe. Setting up macros and multi key inputting is reasonably easy and the bundled software is ok. To be honest, the whole package leaves me feeling a bit let down but if you want a solid workhorse of a keyboard then this will do the job. What disappoints me is the lack of backlighting to the additional characters on some of the keys which are difficult to see in low light, which defeats the object of this keyboard really. Given the price i regret buying this, but that is not to say it is a bad keyboard.
Extremely happy with this keyboard, the green lights match my pc case and my green and black office decor. Very high-end keyboard but worth the money in my opinion.

A bit heavy but as it should be on your desk, you shouldn’t notice it.
I have been thinking of getting a blackwidow ultimate for a wile, was unsure witch to go for, as there are so many versions out now, i chose this one due to the lower price point, i was looking at the chroma but apart form the fancy lights there no difference, i am very happy with the keyboard so for :).
Great keyboard, little loud but i guess that’s what you can expect from mechanical keys. No wrist/hand rest which is a shame, had to buy on extra. The ‘free watch dogs’ is also false.
Looks superb, lights up green, very responsive. Note to razer: stealth is the ability to avoid radar detection, i know i could hear a b3 if i was within earshot but cmon. Air traffic control could probably pick up this keyboard as my girlfriend trying to sleep throws it from the window.
Like the noisy one but quite. Still makes a bit of a noise but certainly not high pitched like the standard keyboard.
For mechanical, i dare say it’s quiet, but giving it a name like ‘stealth’ is laughable. Great keyboard, but not what it says on the box. Usb is on the right side too, which being a right handed mouse operator like most people ,i think the cable can get in the way with how i have my keyboard positioned. Would have preferred it on the back with the audio jacks. Also, the macro keys are pointless imo. They needed to do a version without them. I use ctrl-c / ctrl-v a lot and i’m always catching them.
Son says it’s good so must be good ,he’s fussy.
Action of the keys doesn’t feel great, expected better for the price.

But it does have that old school / old movie style noise when you type. Still getting used to the programmable keys on the left – i keep trying to use one of them as shift, i may even program it as such. I also keep activating caps lock to easily, so i may move it. Bought this to match my razer orb weaver – plus i have been after a backlit keyboard for a while. In short – a very solid piece of kit, quite heavy too. It will take some getting used to. Plus i don’t see it getting broken / worn very easily – seems a very strong piece of kit.
I really like the keyboard, took me a while to get used to everything being moved over one because of the macro keys on the left side of the keyboard so keep this in mind when buying it.
Feels great for the price, however it may not please people looking for maximum performance. For that i would recommend a corsair k70, i have tried one compared to the blackwidow and it feels better to type with and would overall be slightly better for extreme gamers. To conclude i would definitely recommend this keyboard as it feels great and is very aesthetically pleasing.
I’ve been using this keyboard for over half a year now and i’m very pleased with my purchase. I wanted a practical mechanical keyboard that felt great to type on as well as being good for playing games (mainly witcher 3 as opposed to any hardcore mmos) and at the same time be stylist and interesting. I personally love the weight of this keyboard, it doesn’t slip around my desk and is virtually budge proof. The keys are comfortable to type on and the stealth aspect means the keys are slightly quieter than normal mechanical keys however it still makes a satisfying typing noise. The green leds are very, very bright. There are a degree of brightness options for the backlight and i have mine set a few degrees above completely off and that’s plenty bright for me, even in a darkened room. The programmable keys are a great feature. I also love the 1x usb hub on the side of the keyboard (which is where i choose to plug in my mouse) and the headphone and microphone jacks, allowing me to not have to fiddle around at the back of the pc when i want to plug or unplug these peripherals. The cables on this keyboard are great quality and very sturdy. I highly recommend this beautiful keyboard.
They keyboard is great, but although it states this is stealth, it is still a noisy keyboard, just quieter than the normal model. For me, i can’t use it, as it upsets others in the room who are watching tv. If this is not an issue for you, then you are onto a winner.
Great keyboard, had for 8 months. The stealth aspect is a little misleading imo, i wouldn’t say it makes the keyboard any quieter just changes the key press’s from a clickier sound to a duller sound. Didnt think the lack of rgb backlighting would bother me as an equivalent keyboard with rgb lighting at the time was about £30 more, but kind of wish i had spent the extra as i’m sick of the colour green. Apart from these 2 minor points the keyboard is perfect.
My husband used to have a black widow. After being able to hear it 2 rooms over and different floors i finally got so fed up i made him buy the stealth. Still a bit loud but can actulaly get to sleep now or listen to music without hearing that incecent insect tapping. Though now hes left his old one n the spare room i might nick it as its still brilliant quality he he he.
Got to be honest and say i don’t notice a big difference between this and a normal keyboard when gaming (apart from the back-lit keys), my frag count certainly didn’t go up, also didn’t go down :-)love the look though.
After using the blackwidow ultimate (2012) since its launch it was time to upgrade to the stealth keys. The click sound difference is amazing, it is 85% quieter and the new mat finish is superb. Plug & play using razer synapsa must have to all those interested in taking your gaming further.Or just wanting to play at night without waking everyone upsuperb razer you have done it again. Now just make the blackwidow chroma stealth in a uk layout and i’ll be getting that to match the rest of my chroma kit.

Simply put-it’s an amazing keyboard. Maybe it doesn’t have the most macro buttons or a display or anything too flashy. Responsiveness is amazing, switches work perfectly everytime, the tactile feedback is quite nice. Once you get some practice with it you’ll write significantly faster. It works amazingly under stress and antighosting performs very well to make sure it doesn’t skip a button press. Can definitely take punishment. Customization options in razer synapse are a massive bonus too-you can remap every key.
A little pricey but so glad that i got it.
Highly recommended; requires 2 usb for power and has hardwired audio and mic leads.
I have now had this for about a week, and my judgement, at this point, is that it is easily the best keyboard i have used. Everything about it, including its weight, the texture of the keys and the noise of the key presses screams quality. I haven’t yet gotten used to the idea that it isn’t necessary to depress the key all the way for the press to register, but when i do i expect that my typing speed will increase, however it will be difficult to use the keyboards at work after that. It took a day or so to get used to the macro keys on the left- at first i kept pressing the ‘m4’ key instead of ‘shift’. The only reason i haven’t given this 5 stars is that some of the keys (specifically the larger ones like the spacebar and enter key) make an audible ‘ping’ing sound, a sort of metallic echo. I’m not sure if that’s normal or not, but it’s a bit irritating.
It is sleek and very easy to use, the keys have a nice feel to them and don’t get in the way of each other. The back lighting is perfect for low light typing or gaming and makes use easier in the day too (for me). The green lighting can be turned off and the brightness can be adjusted, it is a bit on the pricey side but if you want a solid keyboard for every day use and gaming, then i would recommend this one.
Great product, great company.
It is 100% better than membrane and produces lots of features that a normal keyboard doesn’t have. However i am not not happy with the silent switches. They feel okay but they don’t have much feedback. I highly recommend the clicky keys. If you are a keyboard thumper like me then you will have a pretty big increase in noise level. It’s a great product just don’t make the same mistake i did.

Very decent keyboard no regrets, feels of quality and also looks the part.
Arrived quickly, well packaged and is just what the gamer ordered. I’m told it improves the gaming experience no end and is totally cool with the green back lighting.
Great keyboard, came within 2 days.
