Nikon 20050 AF-S DX NIKKOR 55-200 mm VR II Lens – Very pleased so far
Was delivered quickly and was packaged well. The product was exactly as advertised in perfect condition. I’m a novice and have used the lense for pictures on walks on the cliffs and sport (including video). All images come out very good quality. I wouldn’t hesitate to use the seller again.
This is a good lens for a crop sensor dslr camera. It has the vr built in and the reach is good. Don’t be expecting miracles. It is by no means a super sharp lens but for this price it will do the job for any amateur/family photographer.
Amazing lens, i have 2 young boys and found that i quickly ran out of zoom when trying to get pictures of them at the park or woods. This extra zoom means i can get more natural shots without having to call them back all the time.
I’d say it is only a cheap amateur-ish lens which is good since i am only a beginner, this lens is good for long-ish distance shots and doesn’t break the bank too harshly. I say it’s a cheap lens but not in the sense of quality, it has a weight to it but not too heavy. The build quality is great it feels very durable. The only downside i could think to it is that the focusing is quite slow compared to other lenses i’ve tried and the manual focus ring is at the end of the lens so when fully zoomed in it is a bit annoying trying to reach for the focus ring since it’s not in the same place all the time.
Seems a very good price for this excellent piece of equip.

Best zoom lens you can get for a nikon dslr. I got mine from the warehouse deals and i had nothing to complain about.
Excellent value for money, a good first long zoom for dx. A bit soft at 200mm, but nice colour saturation and surprisingly lovely bokeh. It’s not about wide apertures, focal length can do it too.
Brought this second lens for my husband for christmas. He was very impressed he has taken some brilliant pictures over the christmas holidays. The pictures are super clear the lens is light. Very happy with the product.
This is a decent lens for the price. I’m an amateur photographer at the outside but the kit 18/55mm stock lens didn’t cut it so i looked at this and am pleasantly surprised at the results. Its lightweight compared to my 18/105 lens and the quality of the shot isn’t too shabby at all.
Have tried this lens and i must say that for this price it is very very good. It is well made and feels solid, one review said it felt light and had a plastic feel to it, well the one i received feels solid and does not have a plastic feel at all. Pictures i have taken have come out very well indeed. Vr works well as does auto focus. You can’t go wrong with this lens especially at this price.
Purchased this 55-200mm vr ii lens kit to go with my nikon d3300, the 18-55 lens kit already came with the camera, the 18-55 kit is brilliant for portraits and family photos. I needed a lens that did the extra zoom, after reading reviews and lookin at my budget the 55-200mm kit is brilliant for what i need, i would love to have the nikon 55-300 kit but that is well over my budget, the lens itself when attached to the camera does not stick out much further than the standard kit that came with the camera, maybe an extra 20mm so its great for putting in a camera case. So the important part, autofocus is powered by a silent wave motor, and auto focus speeds are pretty quick for a lens of this budget level. The centre sharpness of the pictures is fantastic at most focal lengths, at maximum aperture and 55mm, sharpness is excellent across the frame, changing the aperture to f/8 gives you great performance, zooming to 105mm results in a reduction of performance at maximum aperture. Here sharpness is very good in the centre, changed the aperture again to f/8, performance at this focal length is much improved. Here sharpness is outstanding in the centre, for best results at 200mm i went to f/11, the sharpness and quality of the image at this length is fantastic, of course it helps having the vibration reduction switched on, close-up performance is also pretty decent for a non-macro lens, all in all this is a very good lens for the price, if your a novice like me, then you will love it. The picture taken of the moon is zoomed right up to 200mm, no tripod involved just my hand, the shot was taken in auto mode and with the vr switched on, i have then cropped the picture on my pc, the pic shows how much detail you can get from this fantastic lens.
I genuinely prefer this to my nikon 55-300 lens. That hunts for focus, and is soft at the 300 end. Obviously anyone buying a 200 or 300mm lens is primarily interested in how it performs zoomed in, rather than at the 55mm end. I found the focus on this to be pretty snappy – no problem getting shots of birds in the air. I wish the manual focus ring was bigger and better placed, but the af is good enough not to need it. This is an excellent lens if you are on the move (e. It collapses down to a very reasonable size. The f-mount is plastic, but this isn’t an especially heavy long lens, so unless you anticipate heavy duty use this doesn’t seem a problem.
Present for daughter, which she has been wanting for some time. Does a fantastic job and used to great effect at the last fairford air show. Here are the specifications for the Nikon 20050 AF-S DX NIKKOR 55-200 mm VR II Lens:

For a beginner it is great to have this lens, it is quite cheap but it works smoothly. The autofocus system is good, not the fastest obviously but good, and the image quality is greatof course, i’m talking as a beginner with an entry-level dslr.
I cannot believe we ordered this on sat 3rd june and it arrived sunday 4th june. This is a birthday present for my husband and he is delighted with it. The sizes of the zoom will now prevent him from keep having to swap his other 2 lenses. Very good product and a very good price – well recommended.
Great lens for an amazing price. No uk warranty but does come with a worldwide warranty. Excellently packaged arrived quickly. Covers majority of focal lengths you need to start off with. Will be using at silverstone at the f1 grand prix, will update with shots.
I got a great bargain with this lens and am very pleased with it. The lens was dispatched promptly and the product arrived in very good packaging.
I’m new to dlsr cameras and this is my first lens purchase. I mainly use for video at indoors sporting events. I tried this on my camera straight from the box and found you can constantly hear the noise from the autofocus when replaying the film. You could edit this of course if you wanted to add your own sound. I think i will zoom and manually focus to the boxing ring and film away. Its a handy size, not to bulky and the zoom is ok for what i need. It is good for pictures, the vibration reduction works great even at full range. Not good for fast action shots when inside, i am looking at getting a 35mm 1. 8 wide angle lens for some ringside pictures.
Bought it on sale and couldn’t believe the bargain. Does what it says on the box and is all i wanted in addition to a 35mm one and some filters.
Reviews from purchasers :

Great for novices like me.

Better than Nikon’s 300mm DX offering

Mostly good

A very light weight lens with image stabiliser and is very nice to use. You can hand hold it at full zoom and still get a sharp photo. I think it’s a brilliant addition to my kit and is a bargain price.
Zoom ring working way harder then my 18-55 kit lens but at least dosnt move by itself as sigma 70-300 dose. Vr is great , able to handheld shoot at 200 mm on on 1/30 sek (for test ) no problems. Btw ordered on friday via free delivery got it on sunday at no cost to northern ireland.
Very lightweight lens considering focal length of 55-200mm, equivalent to 300mm on my cropped sensor camera body. And it collapses down to the same length as my 18-55mm kit lens which it complements really well. Downside is low light performance but this is mostly not an issue for me as i mainly do landscape photography.
I’m new to the dslr, but i think this lens is a good complimentary with the 18-55 mm kit i’ve got.
Very impressed with this lens, about 20mm longer than the original lens so fits my case very well, picture quality is very good.
I like the lens as its got vr as well. Long term though i would have loved to have a 18-200 than 55-200 as then you avoid the need to keep changing the lens.
The lens is new and good, but the lower price ones are imported from korea. In terms of warranty, there may be problems in uk, but then, again, for the price, if the lens fails, it’s not worth repairing, in most cases repair quote will be higher than lens price.
Extremely compact, and very sharp. Very nice handling for a cheapish plastic lens. I only had one problem, and that was that vr (vr ii on this one) actually introduced vibration at certain shutter speeds, where turning off vr gave a better image. At something like 1/200s at 200mm, the vr often made the image worse than without vr (handheld, not on tripod, obviously). I don’t know if my sample was bad, or it’s anything to do with the body (d3200). Returned it for this reason.
I was looking for a second lens, and this is just right. Good value for money, sharp images. Works perfectly for the nikon d3400.
Very satisfied with this lens, which compliments perfectly the lens that comes with the nikon d3300.
Ordered this for my nikon d5200. Only tried out a few times but very impressed by the quality of image with the zoom. Brought to use with my nikon camera for a bird of prey photo day in november and can’t wait to use it properly for this.
Just remember it only becomes active at the point of 55. For me lightness was important, and this is a super lightweight lens to carry around.
Excellent lens for moderate distance. It struggles on macro photos. Other than that no complaints.
But box was open so no guarantee.
After much deliberation i decided to purchase this lens to use on my d3300. It compliments my camera well and is a welcome addition to my 18-55mm lens that came with my camera. Crystal clear photos every time and the zoom quality is great with no distortion at 200mm. So glad i brought this and i highly recommend to anyone looking to take photos of more than just close up images.
My second lens purchase, excellent bit of kit, easy to use. I didn’t realise the actual lens was 52mm diameter until delivery so required new filters etc but thats down to my ignorance.
I already have the 55-300 mm as it is a bit cumbersome. This lens is a great i just wish i had bought this 1st and not the 300 mm. This is a very nice compact lens that will serve most peoples needs.
So i purchased the nikkor 50-200mm, with the intention of testing it out and returning it within 14 days, as i really had my mind set on getting the nikkor 70-300mm lens. I haven’t taken off since i got itthe image quality is very good, it takes very sharp pictures. I just need to remember to mount the camera on my tripod if i intend to snap at full zoom. Not the best with low lighting, but that was expected.
Bought this as a present and i’ve been told that it is perfect. From my point of view it was fantastic as i had done some research on the product and found that this was the best value.
Seems to be ok, but somewhat puzzled by a lot of chinese documents. Also what appears to be instructions for users in canada, not europe or great britain. Doesn’t appear to be a genuine import to the u.
