Microsoft Sidewinder X5 : Replaced a dear old mouse that sadly had seen better days

I was looking for a laser gaming mouse and found this particular model as it was among the cheapest i could find :)plus i had the microsoft wireless ones (notebook 6000) for my laptop too and it was pretty good for me. The x5 had the gaming looks (i paired it with the sidewinder x6 keyboard too), cool red led light at the bottom of it. The 3 dpi buttons are ok even though i settled with only one settings, however its useful if you’re the sniper types with low dpi (most gaming mouse have em too)it took me 3 days to get used with it as its quite large and i’m used with smaller mouses. The side buttons are customizable too but you have to installed the software to get it working. No issues so far except i always accidentally hit the side buttons with the keyboard. But overall i’m pretty happy with it. I know that there are better mouses out there but this one is worth for its price :)pro:1)cool red led2)adjustable dpi on the go3)scroll button are good4)nice ‘techy’ lookscons:1)not suitable for small hand2)accidental side buttons clicks (if you like to put your mouse at the side with keyboard).
I hesitated a long time to replace my mouse. After long considerations, i choose this one and i don’t regret it. It is a big mouse which suits me because i have pretty big hands, it feels very comfortable and it took me just a day to get used to it really. I’d recommand it to any gamer. The only critic i would make is the system of 3 buttons on top which allows you to switch between customized mouse speed. It’s not really that helpful since you can modify that through game menus usually.
I upgraded from a standard optical mouse that came with my pc 5 or 6 years ago. I wanted something that would work without a mousemat and had high resolutions. While i admit i’m not the most hardcore gamer, i think the x5 suits me well. While others have said it looks bland and cheap, i don’t think so. The side materials where your thumb, on the left, and two fingers on the right rest, is very nice to the touch. I say two fingers as the protruding lump makes this a very comfortable mouse to use, although. As with other reviewers, if you have small hands this probably isn’t a good buy. As this is often useless information, as it was to me. My hand from middle finger tip to roughly bottom of the palm is about 19cm, and the mouse feels comfortable, this will depend on how you like to hold your mouse of course.
A very high effective mouse, much more advanced than the average mouse. This mouse is ideal for gaming as its responsivness is the best i’ve seen. So responsive that you would never need to set it past even 800dpi (below average mouse speed). I highly recommend this mouse to all users and it also gets dispatched super quick. My previous sidewinder broke on me (my fault that is), but i was easily happy to purchase a brand new one.
The product feels a little lighter than i would have liked, but otherwise it’s very ergonomic, looks nice, good size etc. I ordered this two or three days ago on the standard delivery, and it came this morning.
