Corsair CH-9000114-UK K70 Cherry MX Performance Backlit Mechanical Gaming Keyboard – – I love it, but one small problem.

Second device i have acquired and it’s still a winner. Alas the only fly in the ointment is the software drivers – they don’t seem to like my work windows 7 installation which means i can’t get the programmable features to work – pita. It doesn’t detract from the keyboard tho – those cherry keys have an action that makes a day worth of typing just fly by.
Takes some getting used to if you’re using this keyboard after using a normal membrane keyboard – the keys activate slightly before they hit the bottom and the actual pressing of the key is a smooth motion downwards rather than the sudden jolt downward you’re used to on a normal keyboard. The cherry mx reds feel amazing to type on and make the most satisfying sound ever when typing. The case feels to be made of some durable plastic, although the keys are situated on top of an aluminium plate underneath which adds some weight to the keyboard. The media keys have been incredibly useful.
Absolutely amazing keyboard, i was split between this and the razer blackwidow, so after extensive research, i chose this. Would never doubt the keyboard (i also plug my mouse into the back to have confusion of wires plugged into my computer).
Great keyboard, love the feel and functionality, although the usb pas-through is only usb 2. 0, and doesn’t perform enough to transfer large amounts of data at a convenient rate. However it is suffice for plugging in my phone/ipad and charging/transferring files. The braided cable, while good quality, is consequently quite large because of the pass-through. The only other problem i have with this keyboard is that the backlit aspect only covers certain part s of the key caps, this is only for keys that have more than one symbol on them, such as the number keys that also contain ‘£$%^&*() ect. I’ve provided an image to help explain. *unfortunately mine arrived with a slight mark on palm rest, nothing worth going through the trouble of waiting for replacement though*.
Best keyboard i’ve had, the software that controls the lighting can be a bit complicated but once you get use to it you can do some really cool effects. The build quality is amazing the aluminium base plate gives a premium feel and makes it feel solid and the detachable wrist rest is quite comfortable.
I was looking for a keyboard that would work both for my gaming and for my office work that involves lots of typing. My research suggested the brown cherry switches would be the best for this, and so far this keyboard has not contradicted that. I’m still getting used to it for gaming as the keys are further apart than on a cheap rubber dome keyboard, but otherwise all good. The usb port lets me switch between my ergonomic work mouse and my gaming mouse without having to fiddle with cables at the back of the computer, and the windows lock prevents some fat fingering. I really don’t care about backlighting features.

This is by far one of the best keyboards I have used
-
The keyboard is just incredible, particularly with the blue switches which I much prefered over brown!

Absolute pleasure to type on

This is my first mechanical keyboard ive used (i’m using blue switches). Before using this keyboard i was just using a cheap lenovo, and this keyboard is absolutely amazing, it feels great to type on esoeacially due to the included wrist rest and also looks great, espeacially in the dark. The structure is very strong as well due to its aluminium chassis. Packaging was very good too, as well as delivery. My only complaint is that you cant get cherry mx blues in rgb leds, but other than that this is a great keyboard.
I really like this item , its amazing and i enjoy typing even more with this keyboard , ordered this on the 11 and got the item on the 14 , thats ridicolous as a amazon prime customer, i expect it to arrive quickly as i have a monthly subscription.
I purchased the k70 rgb gen 3 with cherry mx red, mine came with the old corsair logo if that makes any difference to people not like the old logo or vise versa, cherry mx red keys are great for all round typing and gaming whilst still being ‘clicky’ which is probably more to do with the actual key hitting the keyboard structure. The software which you need to download to configure the leds is complicated if you want to create new lighting sequences etc but i chose to go with one of the default sequences.
I have the corsair k70, and i love it. The cherry mx brown switches satisfyingly click with each press. The difference from old membrane keyboards is unimaginable. Gaming is also great on them. It’s fantastic as you don’t have to press the key all the way down to actuate the key. This allows for very fast gaming. The keys take about 2 hours to get used to. The reason that i didn’t give it 5 stars is because the led lighting on keys with multiple gaps, like the number keys and the enter key do not have even lighting. This is not a major complaint as it is barely noticeable in the dark, but it is still a problem.
I have used this keyboard for quite some time now and it arrived on time just as promised. The keyboard itself is exactly what it says and shows. It’s amazing, and i haven’t once thought about changing it and i definitely haven’t needed to replace it as the build quality i believe, is top quality. The cherry mx red switches are just as i expected them to be and using this mechanical keyboard for gaming has really helped me perform much better in game in my opinion due to the nature of the red switches compared to the other switches available. I would recommend having a try with some mechanical switches with different colours to get an idea of which switch you would prefer before buying but regardless, the corsair k70 is a solid keyboard and the rgb lighting just makes it even more beautiful especially at night in low light or no light conditions where the lights really stand out. One of corsair’s best products.

*click clack click clack*great keyboard, blue switches are a joy to type with and the media keys are very useful. Shame there isn’t a blue keyed rgb version at time of purchase.
Top quality product for all aspects of use.
So i have been using this for about a week now and i have got to say i love it, the only thing that i am not 100% happy with is the software, very steep learning curve and it will take me a bit to get used to it and make some cool effects of my own.
Without doubt the best keyboard i have ever owned, the colour range is extensive, so many colour options and templates to choose from. The keys are solid and have a nice tactile feel to them. The aluminum finish is pure quality, it feels lovely and looks great, a very premium feel to the keyboard. The software i found surprising easy to use, it has a nice braided cable that feels strong and looks nice. 3 colour brightness levels, that are bright enough for most users. I can’t say any more other then a superb keyboard that looks and feels great, if your a gamer and want the best then i can recommend the k70 rgb brown switch.
Researched this a lot before buying. Bought with mx cherry red keys, which are great. Very solid aluminium body – also great. Roller for volume and usb pass through a bonus. Only downside is additional textured number gaming keys do not have secondary function on them. Not using them, but a, using the wasd gaming keys which are great. Ignore negative reviews about mx cherry red keys. They’re great for both gaming and typing if you can type.
First mechanical keyboard and i love it. The colour schemes are awesome and i’m never going back to a membrane keyboard.
100% Cherry MX Red mechanical key switches for high performance

After a friends recommendation, i decided to buy this keyboard to replace my previous one which was just your standard office keyboard. I’m just gonna say it flat out; i’m loving this keyboard so far. The build quality is top notch, very durable. It looks like it’ll be exceedingly easy to clean out; like if some crumbs or whatever were to fall in between the keys, you can just tilt the keyboard to one side and it’ll come right out. The red led’s give it a good bit of visual appeal too, but if you don’t want the led’s on you can turn them right off easily with the push of a button on the top of the board. I’m also fond of the wrist rest it comes with too, adds a fair amount of extra comfort while gaming. Oh yeah, the key’s feel and sound great to press. If you’re like me and want a good keyboard upgrade, buy the k70.
I love it,its the best looking keyboard i’ve ever seen and the rgb is a brilliant idea for gaming and for a lot of different applications. The keyboard its self is made of aliminium for strength and the keys are raised so that all you need to do is blow the dust away though it’s a steep price i think it’s actually worth it and can see it lasting me years.
This is by far one of the best keyboards i have used. The keyboard that i am using comes with the cherry mx blue switches and in my opinion these are the best by far. It offers a satisfying click with a loud sound. The back-light has some adjust-ability which allows you to customise the keyboards brightness and what keys light up. There is also a windows lock button that i absolutely love because it allows the user to not be afraid of pressing the windows button when in use. I love the accessories that the keyboard comes with the keyboard comes with some textured key caps that are meant for gaming. There is also an included palm rest that is made with a nice soft touch plastic and is definitely not a gimmick unlike most keyboards corsair actually made the arm rest for ergonomic reasons whilst other companies put the rest there for the fun of it. Overall my experience with the corsair k70 has been really good there is everything that you need for example there is a usb pass through that is amazing for daily use. Please if you are wanting to buy a keyboard that offers it all please turn to corsair i promise they will not let you down.
It is a very nice keyboard, well-made and very clear tactile feedback. For what it does i would have to say it is a little over priced though. However, the k70 gen 3 (non-rgb) can’t be controlled from a computer. There is no software that comes with this keyboard and the cue (corsair utility engine) doesn’t work with this keyboard – it says no device detected. This means you can’t bind any of the keys to macros, etc. You can change the brightness of the keys with one button and which keys are lit up with another one (press the button, then press the keys you want to be lit up, then press the button again to save it). There are only 2 lighting modes available however – either all of the keys are lit or just the ones you have selected, which means you can’t save different sets of keys to light for different games, for example.
This keyboard is absolutely beautiful. I previously owned a razer blackwidow 2012 with blue switches, which i thought was a prety good keyboard (got mine second hand for £45), but the k70 is in a completely different leaguei won’t go into how awesome this keyboard is as many of the other reviews already do this. (if you are concerned about the spacebar, i personally think it’s fine, what i would expect to be honest). What i will discuss is the mx switches. Originally i ordered the keyboard with mx brown switches (not rbg version as couldn’t justify the price for lights, which was the right choice for me), which were ok, but coming from blue switches it just felt a bit flat. They kind of felt like driving an audi (nothing against audi), they are solid, reliable, smart and good all rounders (if you are one of those gaming vs typing). However, exchanging the keyboard for the blue switch version (which was a truly painless process, 1 day exchange), is a bit like trading in an audi a4 and exchanging it for a ferrari 448. This tingly feeling that i am getting whilst typing this review is just, incrediblepersonally, i am absolutely delighted i switched the browns for the blues, and tbh, the noise is really not that differerent (it’s actually quiter than my blackwidow) but if you are unsure, i would suggest trying both out and decide yourself. Turns out the keyboard is also a great level. I thought the keyboard was wonky when setting it up on my desk but to my suprise it was my table suface.
Very solid, i’m using it for a year for gaming and still looks and works as year ago.
Deep red key-by-key customisable backlighting

I have only had this keyboard a few hours so i will update over the next few days of use. First impressions:having previously used the corsair k30 this is quite a step-up. I bought the browns in hopes that they would be balanced for both gaming and typing and to my surprise they are better than i initially thought. I’ll admit it takes some getting used to but they are really responsive and i love the tactile feedback – making glad i chose the browns over the reds or blues. The build quality is insanely good as well and the rigidity (as referred to on the box) is just flawless. To put it simply their is a very very slim chance the keyboard will move while in use. The wrist rest is also a lot better than i expected and after using it for only a few hours i can’t imagine not using it at this point. Finally on to my last major point the led’s. Bright and that is a good thing but regardless (and this is my only gripe because i am basically nit picking) but some of the keys 1 through 0 in particular aren’t lit fully.
Great board for gaming, i don’t want to go into the pro’s as mechanical keyboards have a reputation for being good anyway, so ill go over why i chose 3 stars, its the utility engine, it took me days to get it up and running, the program updates then tells you to do one more from there site, but every time i did it my board would crash, couldn’t set profiles, had to restart pc so i left in in the end, the profiles are easy to set up once you et used to it, but if you want animation like the rainbow preset you wont have a good time, 10 mins into it all the colors freeze, to reset it you need to reset the pc (in my case anyway) i love this keyboard to pieces but the driver software needs a huge improvement.
This keyboard is a dream to type on, as a programmer the cherry mx blue keys are the most satisfying and accurate i’ve ever used. Definitely couldn’t go back to ever using a membrane keyboard after this. The lights can be set quite bright if needed and customised so the keys are quite easy to read regardless of how dark the room is, and the overall build quality is top notch and feels very solid. Everything arrived perfectly intact and even a week early to boot, very happy with his purchase.
Best mechanical keyboard i’ve ever had, and i still have it. It’s not too loud, its durable and customizable with easy to replace keys for your preference. The coloured keys only come in red and you can easily turn them off. The extra buttons for skipping music and volume control are great but not essential. You can also dim your keyboard, change which keys have colour and disable the windows key. One drawback is that you cant disable certain key bindings like other keyboard i have tried.
Whent with browns over reds (never used either) as i like the bump that i thought would be similar to razer greens. Not as bright as razer and key illumination is not even. Shift functions on 1-0 are bright while the numbers 1-0 them self are quite dim. Also i have a black and white set up so wanted some white illumination, big disappointment here, disgusting white, very dirty and you can see red green and blue rainbow reflecting of the keys. So never use white on this keyboard, horrible.
Gen 3 ch-900018-uk keyboard with updated and far more classy corsair ‘sails’ logo not the unloved crossed swords. Mx cherry red’s are a delight to use from both gaming and typing, lighting is generally good but better light dispersal in some of the key caps would be nice (this maybe achievable with custom key caps). The software is convoluted and bulky to navigate through, but custom lighting options are easily downloaded from the community and installed. Once you play around with the software it’s easy and reasonably quick to set customs keystrokes, macros, folder shortcuts and lighting options. Being able to macro custom all the keys is a big plus and provides good modulation within games. Overall a great quality product which ultimately you pay for in the price, however i can see this lasting a considerable amount of time, with a 2 year warranty it’s a no brainer.
This is a solid keyboard with almost limitless key colours to play about with. I would not choose to write a book or take this keyboard to work as it is just too noisy and would drive everyone crazy i would recommend for gaming though and don’t regret the purchase.
100% anti-ghosting with 104 key roll-over on USB for accurate game play
I bought this keyboard about 2 weeks ago now and i have given myself some time to get used to it, as it is my first mechanical keyboard. It does take a little bit of time to get used the layout of any new keyboard you buy, the fact that it is a mechanical keyboard didn’t really affect my learning curve i don’t think. I have amazon prime, so this keyboard came next day which was fantastic. I bought the brown keys as i use it for a mix of gaming and work. I also have a family in the house and i use the keyboard quite late at night, so the noise was an important factor for me. The keyboard itself comes very well packaged and it would be hard for it to get damaged in transit. The build quality of the keyboard itself is great, its got a hard metal base and is quite heavy, it has rubber feet so it doesn’t move around the desk at all. The cables are very thick and definitely long enough (for me anyway). A wrist rest comes with the keyboard and it is completely up to you if you use it or not, some people prefer this and others dont. It clips easily onto the keyboard so no problems there.
I love the feel of the mx brown key switches. You can keep your fingers on the keys lightly, and they won’t activate the keys. You get a distinct feel when the key is registered by the computer, which is nice both when typing and gaming. Red blacklight is pleasant, i keep it at the minimum level.
I wanted the version with the red switches, but i ended up ordering the blues by mistake and i absolutely love it. I use a lot of force when i’m typing, so the lower activation point of the reds could have been an issue. The feel of aluminium is great and the leds are a nice touch. I can’t get the software to recognise the keyboard on windows 10, but that doesn’t prevent the keyboard from working, so i won’t remove a star for that.
Prefect keyboard for both gaming and writing (uni student)i bought this keyboard to replace my old razer deathstalker, and i have got to say; once you get a mechanical keyboard, it is hard to go back to a membrane keyboard. The spaces between the keys is perfect and the keys have good traveli had a problem deciding between blue or brown switches, and whilst brown switches are quiet and give tactical feedback, blue switches have the *click* sound that most people associate with mechanical keyboardswould highly recommend this keyboard for people looking for a good typing/gaming experience.
This is simply the best keyboard i’ve ever used. I came from a logitech g510 which lasted me a good while, but i was due for an upgrade. The keyboard itself feels very strong and sturdy, i don’t imagine this to break or deter for a couple of years if you take good care of it. Its base is made from brushed aluminium, which feels and looks amazing. I would do a bit of research before deciding on which key type you might like, you can even order a key sampler online. I went with browns for the best of both worlds between blue and red, they are brilliant for gaming and feel great for typing. The lighting is gorgeous and offers plenty of customisation tweaks that you can play with, though it will take some time to become proficient at the software i imagine. Even if you don’t want to do this yourself, there are downloadable profiles you can access to easily change and customise your lighting, which other users have made.
This is by far the best keyboard i ever used, the price is a bit high but it is completely worth it and you will never look back. Build quality is excellent, it’s heavy and sturdy, it doesn’t slide around your desk, and the cherry mx blue switches just feel and sound great.
Aircraft-grade anodised brushed aluminium for rigidity
Loud like hell, but this keyboard is just impressive, i am inlove with it. You control your movements with so much accuracy and timing that you make crazy the enemy. You will really feel a difference in csgo or fps games.
Best keyboard i’ve ever owned by far, took me a little while to get used to the keys being so sensitive but now i find them faultless. I went for cherry mx brown and i’m happy i did as i think the reds might be too sensitive for my liking. Satisfying noise when the keys click tooonce downside to the keyboard is the price, although the build quality does seem excellent and i don’t think i’ll be needing to replace my keyboard within the next 5 years.
