Rii RK500 3 Color LED Backlit : Five Stars

Great keyboard for the price, and good customisability with macros, lighting, and response rate.

It’s great i can even see the key board when it goes dark, liked it so much bought two.

Took me a while to figure out how to do macros on it but still good manage to make full sentence with 3 keys with this bit of equipment ain’t much but a start. Very easy to change and plan the macros in advance.

The cd software is full chinese with no way of changing the languag. E so looked at the answers section here and downloaded the english version. Easy to set up and has a very good quality build to it. Very much like a proper gaming keyboard with common features. For the price, it’s worth it.

Great product, item as described, happy with purchase.

Very good quality for the pricewould reccomend to anyone making a budget gaming setup.

This keyboard is great for the price. The back-lit colours can be changed which is cool. Its big and easy to install. It came with a disk which i have no idea what to do with. I just plugged it in and it worked.

Had it for six months already and it works brilliantly.

Note that it does have a very small backspace key, which may annoy some people to begin with.

Mehh, it’s a good temporary keyboard i guess nothing really special about it, unless you want to impress a computer illiterate with led lights. Gave it a 4 stars because it’s durable and lasted long, and the cable is decent.

I have gamemax hurricane version of this keyboard and would agree the instructions are sparse. But it didn’t take me long to work out the macros, which is great for in game trash talk. What did stump me was as some have mentioned was the fact the windows key stopped working but lucky enough i found the reviews for the rii rk500 which is the same as my keyboard just a different brand name. Anyway the answer to the windows key not working once you’ve set up the macros is to press fn+prtscr to toggle them on or off, with macros off the windows key works as usual. If you do turn the macros off they can also be enabled by pressing a profile button. So bottom line is i’m really happy with this keyboard, the price i paid was appx £10 which for a multimedia macro keyboard is excellent. Although it doesn’t have mechanical switches for the keys it still feels pretty good but if you want one with mechanical switches expect to pay £80+.

I bought this keyboard as its programmable. I will be using it with the flight sim, x-plane 10. This will in conjunction with a thrustmaster joystick. Its possible to map any keyboard to the flight sim, but it make it much easier if the keys can be exchanged, and placed in a logical position on the keyboard. The macro function will be used as well. I read most of the reviews for this keyboard, and a lot were quite negative. They must have been a different model, as this one is the rii rk 500. It comes without a mouse, it’s wired, it has backlighting, and most important it’s a low cost gaming keyboard. It does not have mechanical keys ,they are the standard membrane type.

This keyboard came well packaged in a large, plain cardboard box labelled with the product code. The keyboard itself was placed inside of a thin plastic sleeve, with the 1. 8 metre braided cable tied nicely together with a plastic wire tie. As well as the keyboard, the box also contained a detailed user manual and a small disc, containing some information. Specifications: – dimensions: 50. 1cm – weight: 843g – input power: 4. 5v – interface connection: usb1.

Pro’s-simple clean packaging- comfortable for long periods of gaming- lighting looks beautiful- cable isn’t super short- programmable backlight adds a bit of funcon’s- would of liked a mechanical versionoverall 5/5great quality as i’ve come to expect from rii and i’d love to see them break into mechanical keyboards if this is how good they’ve got at standard gaming keyboards.

Great for price, but quite noisy and not the best build quality. For a tenner though, no complaints.

Great keyboard with option to change its back light colour.

Love this keyboard, i’m so glad i opted for wired instead of wireless, an the cable on this keyboard is a nice quality woven cable with a black and red weave. The software takes a bit of figuring out but once its done its easy to change the keyboard colours and program the shortcuts, i actually use it for photo editing rather than gaming but it’s great for that too as i program in photoshop shortcuts. The keyboard is nice and responsive and comfortable to use. I bough the redragon centrophorus 2000 dpi mmo high precision programmable laser gaming mouse, 4000 fps, 1000hz polling rate, 5 memory modes, weight tuning cartridges, omron micro switches along with this keyboard and they make a great combo and look fantastic lit up red.

It arrived in tact and without damage. Only issue being the set-up disk is in korean instead of english.

Great product and excelent customer service.

Product great, has a great feel to the keyboard. Had a small issue at first but the company fixed it imediatly. I would highly recomend this company.

Very nice keyboard to work with at it’s price point. Works absolutely fine on linux however the driver to reprogram the keyboard is windows only (but that is expected). The keyboard has a nice feel to it – being soft but not ‘wet lettuce’ soft. The keyboard has built-in memory so if you wish, you can reprogram every single key on the keyboard to do specific things using the windows driver – and this is retained in the memory on the keyboard itself meaning if you then plug it into another machine without the driver (like my linux box) all the macros and customisations are retained and work perfectly. Having three programmable profiles also means you can program three different layout and response patterns to quickly and easily switch between layouts for different applications or games. Overall, a very good keyboard for the price with even illumination and a good tactile feel for general use. While i’m not specifically a gamer i would stress that if you’re looking for a more ‘clicky’ feel this (and doesn’t pretend to be) a mechanical keyboard. The only issue i would add is that the supplied cdrom windows driver is in chinese – however the driver is available to download from rii directly and i had no issues working with this straight out of the box. In fact, i ended up buying a second for our other machine.

I was after a decent wired keyboard and i wanted something that was a bit ‘striking looking’ as after changing my pc desk, the keyboard and mouse would be on permanent display. I own quite a few rii devices and they are my ‘go to’ brand. This has the build quality you expect from them and as you can see from the picture, in real life, looks very cool. I won’t be using it as a gaming keyboard so unfortunately i can’t comment on that aspect but i have set a few ‘macro’ functions and it is very easy to do. Instructions are supplied and in plain english. The colours are programmable as well but i’m keeping the default blue.

Fast responsive & pretty good backlight. Still getting used to the programmable keys but all in all & great keyboard so far.

Easy to use as i do a lot of video work.
