Emprex 5105GU Gaming Keyboard : that’s clearly not good. But then again it’s a 9 quid keyboard

What else would expect from such a cheap keyboard. It is good for the price i have to say, but to be honest its is not very comfortable on the fingers, especially if you are a gamer. The cap locks key and the ctrl key on the bottom left are smaller than a usual keyboard, the keys are really less spaced out which was a disappointment. I use this keyboard for most games i play e. Counterstrike, dota 2, tf2, bf4, minecraft. If you really wanted a keyboard that is comfortable then i suggest a known brand name and over £30. I will soon get a better keyboard.
I highly recommend this keyboard, especially for the price. I must admit when i was looking at buying this keyboard the price nearly put me off, i was looking to spend about £80 on a keyboard, so wasn’t really looking at buying a budget keyboardafter looking at a few i decided to give this one a try. Im really happy i gave it a chance. It installed extremely easy and the buttons feel great when you press them. The main reason i wanted a new keyboard was for the anti-ghosting effect which works great on this keyboard, i would recommend buying this first before buying an expensive gaming keyboard.
I’ve been really happy with the keyboard. I had a much more expensive, dedicated keyboard and it died. I bought this one as a replacement and was a bit skeptical because of the low price. The keys do ‘clack’ a little when rapidly hitting keys but i’ve not found a keyboard yet, a decent gaming one anyway, that doesn’t. When gaming and frantically hitting keys in combat arenas etc though, a bit of clacking is prolly the least of my worries and the least of the noises i’m emitting. No worries about batteries dying mid-fight either. It’s a wired keyboard but cable length is good. All in all very good value for money.
After 10 months of daily use 30% of the keys are illegible. The keyboard feels almost identical mechanically than any generic £10 usb keyboard, with the exception of a few aesthetic differences e. Black rather than white, and with slightly wider and rounder edges. Oh, and it has a logo at the bottom center, but if the palm of your right hand spends a lot of time in the vicinity then expect it to disappear also.
This was bought for my teenage son. . An avid gamer if ever there was one(most are these days) his verdict is it’s brilliant. . It registers all the multiple keystrokes you need for today’s intensive games that your standard pc keyboard simply won’t. . Oh and it is great for ‘normal’ pc use as well .At the price it’s a bargain .
This keyboard is great for the price. The keys feel nice to type with, at first they may feel quite firm, but i got used to it quick and its loads better than my previous keyboard. Also feels good when gaming. Ive used it on a lot of games already and it feels nice and comfortable when playing. The only problem i had with this keyboard was the right shift key gets stuck, may be a faulty keyboard, but i am not sending it back as i dont want to pay return postage. (im on a budget that is why i bought this keyboard in the first place). I nearly gave it 3 stars because of the sticking shift key, but i could get that sorted out if i wanted too. I would recommend this keyboard highly, because its so nice for the price, and also none other reviewers seemed to complain about sticking keys other than myself (unless i missed them reviews).

The only thing missing is some dedicated programmable keys. Does not feel cheap in anyway. For me its a good option for when you need a cheap replacement and your broke. As a gamer i wish it had more features but i cant expect that for the price i paid for it. The reality is your getting an excellent keyboard for the price. I paid £50 for a steelseries mechanical keyboard for my wife and after trying both i prefer this one.
I ordered this keyboard to go with my new gaming rig, and i’m honestly not disappointed at allfirstly i placed this order a few days before christmas and didn’t expect it to arrive until afterwards. The order was placed after 5pm and i woke up the the next morning and it had arrivedsecond the keyboard itself is nicely built, it has a glossy coating around the keys and the keys themselves are exactly what i wanted, not weak so that when you just brushed them you’d typed letters and not stiff enough so that you have to push down hard for it to register. The windows lock is very very handy and im very impressed. Also the wire for the usb is a nice length it will easily reach what every you need. If you’re looking to get a keyboard for games and don’t want to pay a lot then this is easily the keyboard for you. I would advise any and everyone i know to get this over products such as razer.
The keyboard is great for the price and the build is excellent, but there is no gap between the scroll lock, print screen row of buttons and the row beneath it. Which means that you will continually hit the scroll lock everytime you try to press the home key.
Ok, i’ll start off by saying that i have over 20 years gaming experience and have played competitively on a few games. My mechanical keyboard recently died on me after some spillage of the beer, so i looked around for a cheap replacement until i have another £80 to shell out. Did a bit of searching and found this little gem. Now i’m a fps/3ps shooter player so the first thing i look for on any keyboard is ‘anti-ghosting’, this is a hardware design that allows multiple key presses to overlap each other. In shooters this is a pretty vital pre-requisite, as crouching, moving and reloading at the same time is something youll end up doing quite a lot. Now a keyboard without anti-ghosting can struggle with that, due to multiple simultaneous key presses and it can ignore one or more key presses. So rather than being able to crouch, move and reload, it would only let me crouch and move, meaning i would have to cease movement in order to reload. Scenario: youre behind a low wall taking fire and need to reload. The enemy throws a grenade which lands on your side of the wall. On a keyboard with anti-ghosting, you can stay in cover, move away from the grenade and re-load.
I’ve purchased many value products in the past, specifically from emprex. Again, emprex has delivered high-quality products at a very affordable price. I’ve had expensive keyboards before such as the roccat isku and the saitek cyborg v7, but i have to say, although it doesn’t have macros and other features as the isku & v7 have, it’s an amazing keyboard. Upon purchasing this product i was a little worried that the keyboard itself will have the dreadful ‘wobbly’ keys and feel very cheap, however i was completely wrong. This keyboard, is possibly one of the best keyboards i’ve owned to date, and i’m contemplating purchasing another to hook up to my other desktop pc as it just feels so good when typing. One of my friends who purchases more expensive accessories, came to test out the keyboard. In his own words, he said, ‘how much did you pay for this keyboard?. £50?’; he was shocked when i showed him how little i had paid. Bottom line:this is an amazing value keyboard and if you’re thinking of buying it, don’t waste any more time, just buy it, you won’t be disappointed.
Feels sturdy and the windows lock key is a pretty handy feature. One thing i’m not sure about though, is the price, it doesn’t really have anything different compared to a standard desktop keyboard so i can’t see why it would be around £15 whereas you could pick up a cheap one that does the same job. Also, the ‘gaming’ in the title, i can’t see how this is a ‘gaming’ keyboard. Besides that, i have used it to play games and it feels comfortable to use.
I’m very happy that i chose to purchase this keyboard. I was slightly worried that it would look tacky due to the shiny black plastic, however it does not and i actually now think this effect is very nice. The keys are black (though they appear grey in the image on this site, probably due to light shining on them when the picture was taken) and they have a very nice feel to them when typing. They click when pressed, but it’s not a harsh sound and they feel soft and cushioned which i find pleasant. The keyboard is a nice size and does not take up too much space on my desk. It has two rubber feet on the front to prevent much movement whilst typing and two plastic fold out legs on the back which allow you to raise the keyboard slightly. The usb cable is also a good length. The price is very fair, so i would definitely recommend this item to anyone who is looking for a keyboard that is cheap in price, but that looks and works well.
The device arrived very quickly and the product looks nice, i like the glossy feel of the keyboard. It’s nothing spectacular; it does the job just as any other keyboard should do but it’s perfect for the price. I never use the windows lock key but the volume control keys are a very handy feature if i want to turn up/down the volume while in-game. Would recommend this product to anyone who wants a budget keyboard that does the job. Note: the windows lock key does not light up in the same way it does in the photo, it’s just a weak, barely noticable blue light under the key which you can’t even see unless you’re hunched over the keyboard looking directly at it. I am not bothered by this in the slightest but if you seriously wanted that windows key to glow like it does in the picture, i’m afraid you’ll be disappointed.
I purchased this keyboard due to my previous one needing replaced. There isn’t much i can say other than the keyboard is different than it appears in the picture. I wouldn’t say this is a bad thing. The return key takes up 2 rows whereas in the picture it takes up only 1. The keyboard is completely black with the border having a glossy finish. The shift key on the left hand side is as small as the ctrl key, in the picture it is alot bigger. Iv’e had no issues with the keyboard and would recommend it to anyone looking for a cheap replacement or upgrade.
It’s incredibly good for the price, far, far better than i was expecting. The keys feel good and it certainly seems to live up to the 11key ghosting claims. I’ve used this to play an fps game and i’ve had no issues. The key spacings are very similar to my logitech multimedia keyboard. The body feels sturdy and the plastic is actually quite nice. It’s all black (the image makes it look like it’s got grey keys). I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting a decent gaming keyboard on a budget. It has no other features you normally get from a gaming keyboard (g-keys or other programmable buttons, no built in speaker or usb ports, etc. However, for the price it does the job of being a keyboard you can use for gaming extremely well.
This little gaming keyboard while it doesn’t hold a full feature list of settings will be more than enough for an avid gamer starting pc. It comes with 11 anti-ghosting keys with a windows lock key (perfect for the ones that accidentally get shut out of their games) like me (big hands
and with 104 key all together is more than enough to mac/bind your keyboard to a personal preference. The keyboard works on windows vista/7/8 version 32/64 bit as the product doesn’t state that in the description.
Emprex 5105GU Gaming Keyboard : Still working like the day i bought it. Very good quality, no issues to report.
Great keyboard, been using for about 4 years consistently and travelled with it multiple times with no drop in quality. Keys feel good, no wobble, decent travel distance etc. Spacebar presses nicely from either edge. I use for both work typing and gaming and it’s held up well for both ( competitive csgo, lots of other games, 70ish wpm typing speed ). The windows lock key button is a nice touch, but it doesn’t stay on between reboots so you have to toggle it every reboot if you want it on. Volume up and down keys on the keyboard are great for adjusting in game. Bought it ages ago, haven’t thought about it since because it’s so effective. Would recommend for anyone who can’t bring themselves to spend serious money on a mechanical keyboard.
I like this keyboard and it is still working a few months after purchase. However, the character print has worn off a number of the keys and this is disappointing as it is not that old.
Having used it for a few weeks now i can say its definitely better than my old stock keyboard. Keys are nice and firm, no sticking issues, good for gaming. Only problem i’ve had is that the ‘i’, ‘q’ and ‘p’ keys sometimes need a second extra-hard jab before it works. Apart from that, feels alright to type on and no major problems.
Its a bit light-weight, the plastics look cheap and shiny, and one leg keeps folding up when i move it; but the feel is great, and after getting used to the extra key spacing over my old board, i am typing at speed and navigating around my online games with aplomb.
Nice keyboard, smooth but firm key response, not too clacky only issue i have is that the prtscn, scroll lock and pause keys are directly above the insert, home and page up buttons which can lead to some missed button presses.
I was not sure what to expect from this keyboard, but it is a very solid basic keyboard with nice feel to the key press. For gaming it has a button to lock the windows key which is very useful. Apart from that there are no special features apart from the volume buttons. Overall a great product at a fantastic price.
Great gaming keyboard i use it for playing games like bf4 and it works a treat had no problems with it and it worked first time on windows 7 just plugged it in and windows found the drivers and was up and running in 30 secs.
Fantastic keyboard for the money, great feel from the keys. Much better than soft touch keyboards.
I really really like this keyboard. The keys feel good under my fingers and are responsive. It’s well laid out too – though it’s a pretty standard configuration. I make lots of use of the volume up and volume down buttons. It would have been handy to have a mute button too. I’ll be honest, i don’t use the windows lock key, though i can see why that would be useful for some gamers. The biggest flaw with this keyboard is that the letter started coming off the keys after just a few months. I’ve had this keyboard for about a year now and the lettering is gone almost completely from about 5 of the keys. However, for the price, this keyboard is a total bargain and i’d happily buy another one.
A nice cheap keyboard, but don’t believe the anti ghosting claims. The box shows that you can use all the arrow keys and wasd, space bar, left control and shift, this isn’t true, microsofts ghost detection software shows when you press all arrows and numbers, the s key stops working.
This is a very nice keyboard and has a very responsive feel to the key press. I bought this for gaming and i think it does a better job than the standard dell keyboard and is my first gaming keyboard.
One of the best keyboards ive ever used, none of my other keyboards had a windows key lock so on my old keyboards i always minimized game to desktop by accident, but this keyboard has a windows key lock button so no more minimizing my games by accident, amazing especially for the price has a good feeling to it and is comfortable even after hours of gaming, features anti ghosting so you can press 11 keys at the same time and every button will register unlike standard keyboards where you can only press about 2-3 keys and sometimes one key doesn’t register, would defiantly recommend this keyboard to all gamers.
I’ve had this since 2014, and its still kicking and hasn’t let me downdefinitely recommend to anyone on a budget.
I’m very happy with this keyboard, the keys are nice, soft, feel smooth and have a nice cushioned affect. The board has a nice finish with some nice smooth shiney black plastic so it looks like more expensive board (not that its important but just saying). It has a nice windows lock button that stops you pressing the windows key by accident and jumping to desktop and interrupting your gaming overall i would say this is a great board and would reckonmend it for anyone who wants a decent keyboard for not a lot of money. Only thing that was different from the pic is my keys are black and not silver.
Overall this keyboard is better than i was expecting but i decided to buy after seeing many other good reviews. The only problem i have with this keyboard is that the keys seem slightly thinner than my previous keyboard so i’m making a few more spelling mistakes when typing. However, it’s a gaming keyboard for gaming and it’s fine for that.
This keyboard looks and feels great, has some neat little features too. Great buy for just £10windows key lock is helpful, i’ve accidentally pressed the windows key while gaming quite a few times before, no longer a problem. The anti-ghosting seems pretty good. On my ancient keyboard i wasn’t even able to press a few necessary 3 key combinations when gaming (e. Obviously no longer a problem. I know most keyboards are able to do this, but this keyboard can apparently press up to 11 keys at once, which i’m sure i’ll find handy sometimes. Keys are pretty solid, they feel great, i was happy to see this had full-size keys. Many keyboards these days have those half-size flat keys which in my opinion are horrible to type on. Looks, feels and works brilliantly. I’m glad i found it and at this price tag, i must recommend to anyone looking for a new keyboard, whether it be for gaming or general use, this will suit most users needs. Ordered on a monday, dispatched the next day and arrived on wednesday, 7 days earlier than it was estimated to come.
Although i’ve not had any mechanical issues with this keyboard, it was disappointing that the button labels started to peal within a few months of owning it, that’s clearly not good. But then again it’s a 9 quid keyboard, soo the fact that you can press more than 2 or 3 keys at a time is a pretty neat little feature for an budget keyboard like this. I’m still using it because other cherry keyboard was worse.
Great keyboard, has lived up to expectations and more. My partner uses it as a gaming keyboard and finds it more than adequate.
Only had this for a short while but i can say its definitely better than my old stock keyboard. Keys are nice and firm, no sticking issues, good for gaming. The only problem i’ve had is that the ‘i’, ‘q’ and ‘p’ keys sometimes need a second extra-hard jab before they register. An update on this – 1 week with this keyboard and the ‘i’ key almost always misses and is absolutely driving me crackers now. I didn’t realise how much it would upset me when i wrote the original review.
