Cooler Master Devastator III Combo Gaming Bundle : Pros and Cons of the Keyboard and mouse

I purchased this bundle yesterday and ordered it for next day delivery. I received the package about 40 minutes ago, a little later than i expected but there was no time specification so i can’t complain. Firstly, the packaging was really nice. The design and feel was overall great, no complaints there. I took the mouse and keyboard out and set it all up, the first thing i noticed was that when the leds are turned off on the keyboard, the numbers, letters and symbols are hard to see, but that’s not too big of a deal. Also the keyboard is a little loud, and not in a satisfying ‘mechanical keyboard’ way, it kinda sounds like an old, membrane keyboard. The mouse looks and feels great, the blue leds are a great touch to the overall design and it feels very smooth. The two side buttons unfortunately feel a little too stiff and cheap for my liking, but i’ll hardly be using them so that’s fine. Overall the only complaints i have is the loudness of the keyboard, i may have to switch it out for another in the future as i’ll be gaming a lot and the switches feel a little too big and sluggish. But then again i guess you can’t complain at £24.

The look (when lit) and feel of the keys are fantastic. There is one blindingly stupid feature though. The button for the blue back lighting is scroll lock. That means if you use microsoft excel, you’re regularly needing to turn it off. If it’s anything but bright, you can’t see the keys. I touch type most of the time but when you’re doing formulas and using keys you don’t normally, you’ll end up squinting with your nose on the keyboard to actually see what you’re doingsome people have used a soldering iron to fix this. (see youtube)why on earth wouldn’t cooler master use a little button on the side, giving us on/off with no consequences?.

Keyboard feeling is ok but its not the best ive provedsame for mouse, for a cheap combo 2×1 is not bad at allusing for gaming and it does its work 3,7/4. 3 from 5 it would be my rating. Product is more than satisfying but not the best that you can findi would buy them again indeed. Seen the options i would still buy this packthe only big cons is the ilumination for night is not good, making harder to type if u dont know the keyboard.

The keyboard is certainly good, even for the full price, but the mouse is okay at best. It’s shape is decent (for my hand/grip style). But the problem lies in it’s sensor. It has acceleration and angle snapping and only 3 dpi levels, they can’t be adjusted from x – z, there are only 3 of them (1000/1600/2000). And the leds stay lit even after computer is shut down. The keyboard however, is well built. Has nice lighting, and they turn off after computer shutdown. Keys are membrane (not mechanical), but feel decent to type on. Great product for the money. Mice has it’s sensor flaws, but is usable even in games like cs:go.

Amazing keyboard it is in the uk settings which is what i wanted and the mouse is great as well definitely a bright light and very clear writing on the keyboard it feels mechanical (i know its not) which makes it feel slightly more expensive than it is 🙂 all around a very good buy and i will buy again if it ever breaks in the future.

Considering the materials used and the price it’s a perfect product. I’m a starter to the gaming computer set up but this product has an amazing back blue backlight. One thing that did baffle me is how to turn the backlight on. You have to hit the scroll lock button. The mouse light stays on even when the computer is off.

Bought my fiancee one for his birthday as he really wanted a gaming keyboard, then my father in law tried and fell in love with it. 2 x gamers give this the thumbs up no bad points. Great value for money as well.

All round a nice budget gaming and keyboard set up. Cool blue light up feature on both. Personally i would prefer to be able to sit the keyboard at more of an angle. Even with the legs out it is almost flat. Which hurts my wrists a bit during pro-longer gaming. Also when the pc is shut down. The blue led lighting on the mouse stays on. You will have to unplug the mouse or turn of pc power supply if you want the light off.

Positive:keyboard and mouse finish and quality is very good. Volume keys and media keys on keyboard. Small palm rest for when typing. Negatives:space bar bit clingy when pressed. Mouse led stays on until mains closed. Reflective glossy finish looks stained after touching.

Needed to see the keybooad when using it in the dark, and this does the job, but you also have to put the lihgt on when during the day time too as can’t see the keys otherwise.

The keys feel very nice when pressed, the leds are fairly bright and are really good at night so you can see the keys. The mouse is great too there are different modes that change your dpi, the mouse also has leds. I would recommend this to everyone it is ideal for every case.

While i haven’t had a need for the mouse as i prefer wireless; it’s build quality is superb along with the keyboard’s itself. The backlight is very visible in both dark and direct sunlight. It’s weighty, but it’s worth it for the amazing support it provides. Media keys work great, the separate f-keys are nice and the feedback is excellent. Difficult to use without the backlight, as the writing on the keys are not very visible with it off, but if there was one complaint i had about the keyboard, it would be the spacebar. It squeaked and made a noise every time i hit another key with a bit of force. I found it was much better once i removed the two springs from underneath the spacebar. It removed the noise and the feedback is much better without them. But it is still the best keyboard i’ve ever owned.

It is a good keyboard for the price but it doesn’t feel right and it is not nice to type on. The mouse of the other hand is great. I would recommend getting a red dragon or even drevo keyboard if you can push your price.

It’s good enough for what i need. The mouse however just didn’t feel right. I would advise that obviously, this is a matter of personal taste. But i saw my accuracy in game decrease immediately. This continued long after a typical settling in period on a new mouse. I have gifted the mouse to a friend who is just getting in to pc gaming and he really likes it.

Alright for the money, robustly built, lights are a nice add on, will proberbly upgrade to a mechanical keyboard in the near future as the keys are a little bit soft (thats just be being pick-key).

After having these products for around 6 months, a few things i’ve noticed. The glow on the keyboard doesn’t stay on, and turns off after every reboot. Changing the dpi on the mouse doesnt stay either, resets after every reboot. The scroll wheel on the mouse squeeks after being used for not very long at all. (i’ve coped with it for a long time now)they’re the only faults i personally have with the devices. If it wasn’t for the constant squeeking i hear, due to scrolling a lot, i would of given 4 stars.

I just received it, so i can’t guarantee durability, but judging from the weight and the way the keys/mouse buttons feel, it does seem like it will be durable. The lights are nice and bright, and you can also adjust the brightness. Edit: the only annoying thing is that the mouse does not store the last used colour. Every time i shut down the computer, the mouse goes back to the first colour (red). The keyboard does store the last used colour.

Cooler Master Devastator III Combo Gaming Bundle : But the mouse wheel squeaks loudly when scrolled after ~4 months use and also the back-light for the mouse is not able to be switched off and stays on even after pc is shutdown. And the keyboard back light works on the scroll lock key, this is fine most of the time except in excel when it makes the screen scroll sideways. All it needs is independent switches for the back lights and they will be perfect.

Keyboard is spot on in every aspect. The mouse though – scroll wheel is poor quality. I rely on the scroll wheel heavily for work and it doesn’t respond well. Using it in a browser to scroll for example, it doesn’t always work right (sharp jogs up/down etc. Whether this is just an issue with the one i received i don’t know but it’s a problem for me. Other than this, couldn’t be happier.

Keyboard is harder to see in low light from low angles but the mechanical-membrane is very good as it doesnt appear to be wearing, the mouse has a reliable click but there are some downsides as there are very few options for using the extra mouse buttons. With only 2 side ones and no scroll wheel tilt. It’s closer to a normal mouse than a gaming mouse. The keyboard is better on its own and the mouse could be done without. It’s scroll wheel has a tendency to squeal under constant use.

Since microsoft announced keyboard and mouse support for some xbox games (particularly fortnite) my 9 year old son wanted a keyboard and mouse for the xbox. These work perfectly and you can alternate the colours on the keyboard and mouse. We’ve only had these for a few weeks but they work well and my son loves them.

This bundle is great, no need to spend hours looking for the perfect keyboard or mouse. 3 points:- the blue light of the keyboard is sometimes difficult to ‘read’ the key, depending of your angle of usage- it is a semi mechanical keyboard, more soften than a full mec but harder than a soft one ;-)- the 5 boutons mouse are: 2 on left side of the mouse, left, middle and right clickbeside that, it is a good bundle and it worth it.

A step up from your normal keyboard good weight. I like how the keys are raised and more pronounced. . The lighting is spot on for me not to bright that its glaring at ya. . The mouse is awesome very smooth forget gaming this is the nuts for photo editing.

The leds are rich and very bright. Making the keys easy to see at night. I have spend more on worse keyboards.

Keyboard:nice keys to game / type on. Feels really responsive however the blue led lighting is hardly visible in daylight which makes typing pretty hard unless you know what key is which. During the night time is where this bad boy shines. The blue illumination doesn’t distract if you watch a film away from the desk, or even at the desk for that matter as you can turn it off. Mouse:this is where the stars got deducted. Don’t get me wrong this mouse is great, nice three point sensitivity modes which are ample for gamer’s unless your a major league player who wants 10000000dpi. But for me the scroll where is becoming a little still and squeaky after 2 months of constant use during video editing. Apart from this the mouse fits perfectly in the hand and is well worth the price you pay for the bundle.

I received the product 7 days after ordering it which was good considering i am not a prime member. The unboxing experience was good with the exception that amazon put the ”factory box” in a absolutely giant delivery box. Anyways, the keyboard itself is very good, it has really bright leds, it’s not very quiet but it is not annoying loud at the same time. The mouse felt very sturdy but after 1 month of using it, it began squeeking. After a while i had to void my warranty just to repair the squeeking, so -1 star because of that. If you think of buying this combo, you will have to void your warranty just to repair the really really annoying squeek.

Having purchased this in august 2015, and generally being quite pleased with it, i unfortunately have to report fraying of the cable for the keyboard where it meats the keyboard, and the backlights flickering (which is getting quite bad now after starting several months ago). It’s been moved repeatedly and so some fraying is expected, but not quite as bad as this for a corsair product.

Nice upgrade from the devastator ii line. No selector on the mouse for the dpi. Must have some adaptive sensor to adjust it. Keyboard and mouse has 7 different colors. Nice price tag for a budget build.

A fantastic keyboard and mouse. The keys are completely solid when pressed and you can tell right away it was designed for repetitive key bashing in mind. The back-lit keyboard for me is the best feature. Each individual key is clearly illuminated and looks really cool in the dark. Comes in especially handy when you’re watching movies and playing games with the lights off and you need quick access to specific hotkeys. The mouse is really good as well. The contours mold perfectly with the hand and fingers for optimal interfacing and clicking. Handy buttons are placed on the mouse for navigating and a convenient button allows you to change the mouse sensitivity on a dime. Overall i’m really pleased with this bundle and i would recommend it to anyone looking for a really decent gaming mouse and keyboard combo.

The bundle for these items are nice and the keyboard is great, although there is a problem with the mouse that after moderate use the scroll wheel starts to have some issues, the main issue is that on occasions when you scroll down it decides to go up and when you scroll up it decides to go down instead, for gaming this can be really annoying for games like cs:go because in cs:go, most people scroll to switch weapons, and if the mouse decides to scroll upwards instead, you are unable to switch to the right weapon. Otherwise the keyboard works fine and i have had no issues with it, and its nice to type with. The only silly issue that i found with mine is that the forward shortcut and the backwards shortcut button are both facing the same way, i don’t know how cooler master messed this up i guess its 1 in 1000 that had this problem but its no big deal and i managed to live with it just fine. The mouse lasted about 4 months and the the scrolling problem was so persistent that i had to get a new mouse, shutout to the steelseries rival 100, great mouse for the price and i have never been happier, it’s got led’s inside that can change to any colour you want and you can make it fade in to different colors too.

I got this keyboard and mouse bundle yesterday (shipped with great one day delivery). My use with it so far is absolutely amazing. I previously had a wireless mouse and keyboard that came with my computer (not meant for gaming xd). But already i have improved in cs:go thanks to this bundle. Mouse:the dpi button on the mouse means i can switch on the fly so i can get the best aiming ability in any situation. And on top of that there are two buttons on the side of the mouse that are very handy to set key binds to whilst gaming. The mouse has a very nice padded feel and is even perfect for normal office use due to the ergonomicity of it. Keyboard:the keyboard is a whole new experience. I assumed i was just buying a standard membrane keyboard but the keys on this feel almost mechanical. The lights are very good and have a nice drop through effect along with the light switch (in this case the scroll lock key) being very convenient.

I like that you can easily change the dpi on the mouse, and the keys on the keyboard have nice travel and the click is so satisfying but. The fact that you need to have the backlight turned on to see the symbol on the key is a bit annoying because you have to turn the keyboard on each time you turn your computer on – in my case this is everyday. I also do not like the fact that the key to turn the backlight on/off is the scroll lock key, having a dedicated key to turn it on/off maybe even dim it would just be perfect. But at this price it is a quality product from a known and trusted brand.

Very tactile for being a mechanical-feel membrane keyboard. Some issues are that if you enable led on keyboard, it will enable scroll lock, instead of windows keys, there are using their cooler master logo as a windows logo. You need to be directly over the keyboard in light conditions to make the leds look most effective. – media keys are a huge benefit- full size keyboard. – 3 mouse dpi modes which is a must for a gamer or anyone really. – long wires for the biggest of setups.

The keyboard and mouse are high quality plastic. It is made really well, delivery was quick and the led’s are bright and amazing. I would say this keyboard and mouse are better than most gaming keyboard and mouses. The keys are quite but still have a tapping sound which is quite relaxing at night.

The lighting is good, the keys feel nice and responsive – good for gaming. The mouse on the other hand is horrific, it broke within weeks of using it – scroll wheel stopped working (my 2 friends also have this problem) and the rubber thumb piece on it is very uncomfortable and hard to clean.
