Zalman ZM-M300 Optical Gaming Mouse – Good mouse – scrollwheel plays up after a year

I looked into this product purely because my case was a zalman and it was well made. From the images shown it looked abit small so i was abit unsure at first even with comparing the measurement to my own and i also was unsure about the location of those two buttons on the left mouse (considering i game alot and during most games you dont really have much time to stop to make sure your not accidentally press those instead). When it arrived i was kind of surprised, it was actually larger than my old mouse and felt nicer in my hand too. As for the two extra buttons, they are completely out of the way (so much so that if i do want to press them i have to look at the mouse to make sure im pressing the right one lol) all in all, a great mouse and im glad i got it :).
Cheap , good and perfect size well. This mouse is good for laptop users and those who have theyr stationary pc on the table i realy like the auto shoot function ,because somethimes i need that double tap for shooter games -_- and it goes like pew – pew and not like ratatatatata :dthe dpi switch and auto shoot could be switched places , because alot of time i hit the dpi switch and just be like – whaaat the hell realy liked the led lights on the side to see the sensitivity. Now i know how it works and really like it as all the zalman products.
This mouse served me for up to 4 months and proved to be a good mouse for fps games and rpg. However when i moved this onto faster paced fps such as call of duty it was not up to expectations as it was uncomfortable for long use. This made me want to get a new mouse which was more comfortable so i bought an aula mouse as they are very comfortable. This is a great mouse for the price but if you have extra dosh go for an aula.
I bought this mouse with low expectations considering the price, however i have been pleasantly surprised with this product. It is slightly small, but still provides a very comfortable hold, the dpi settings are all very good and come in very handy. My only complaints are that although it is of very good quality, you can tell it is slightly cheaply made but not so much as you would think, you barely notice. Also one of the two side buttons isn’t as far out is the other, if that makes sense, but again, it’s not a problem really. Even now that i have more than enough money to buy a more expensive gaming mouse, i am sticking to this one. Overall i find it to be an amazing mouse and highly recommend it to anyone who feels curious about it.
Only just arrived and i have to say it is a very good mouse. It feels accurate with a good weight. The dpi and auto click functions work well, to the point youtube videos were expanding not pausing because of the auto click function. So as an instant feel/review i have to say a great mouse for very little outlay.
To start its a very small mouse in the hand i would recommend something bigger unless you like small mice or ave very small hand otherwise its okay for this price you wont get a very good gaming mouse i bought it to start off with and it was ok it has a decent sensor but the build quality is a bit shoddy the left and right clicks are quite nice also quite tactile the other buttons feel cheap but if your on a budget and need a mouse quick for cheap or just a casual gamer who doesn’t play much online this is pretty good other wise look at something with a good sensor from oner of the bigger brands if you want anything to be competitive with but overall this is an ok mouse for the price.

A Great Mouse but

This is a fairly solid little mouse, and somewhat compact. I am used to a larger gaming styled mouse, while this mouse not tiny it is simply moderate in size, the type of mouse you be comfortable with if you use your fingers to move the mouse. The buttons feel firm, and well placed. This means the extra buttons need a concious effort to made if you want to click them and that’s nice, since you do not want to be clicking button accidentally and then have to figure out what just happened. It also has a bit of weight to it which is always nice to have with a mouse. For what it is and the price i think it is close to spot on.
This works perfect and it feels so comfortable to use and it come so quickly people should definitely buy hope this helps.
If this mouse was more expensive i wouldn’t recommend it if it was above £15 but for about £6 you get a decent mouse which has very smooth input and a dpi switch and auto-fire. But what i liked is that there are two programmable mouse buttons useful in games like crysis and skyrim. Great value mouse and requires no setup.
4 stars as some of the buttons are easily caught flicking modes. Bit small so fine for mid sized hands, comfortable design.
Didn’t like this mouse at all. My main problem is that most of the time it double clicked, unless i hit the button very hard. In fact that was probably the only problem, other than that i would say the lead is a little to short for my liking. Edit: it appears that i’m an idiot. When the ‘auto fire’ button on the side has been selected, it causes the mouse to double click when not gaming.

I use this for gaming, for its price it’s fabulous. I’ve also used higher end gaming mice so i know this difference, combine this with a steelseries mouse pad and you’ve got yourself a gaming input bargin.
It works wonderfullyi would say that its well made, great grip on the scroll wheel and well placed buttons, but wont take being used by a violent buffoon gamer, but for normal people its great.
Pros: quite nice looking mouse for the price. Feels nice in the hand and glides over everything with smooth pads. Cons: side buttons cannot be configured. Dpi led is very bright and needs to be smaller. Hard to tell what the dpi means at a glance. Autofire could possibly be moved/turned into a switch mechanism instead of a button.
I do not play many games so my rating does not take that into consideration. This is a good mouse for everyday use, although the first week or so you may find yourself clicking the front switches on the left hand side – they are: auto fire (which actually causes a double click) and in front of that is the dpi switch (makes your mouse pointer move quicker on the screen) the two thumb buttons are much better placed and less likely to be accidentally knocked (well, not by my fat fingers anyway) the mouse has a nice feel to it and a decent weight which provides decent feedback as you move it.
Bought this mouse back in may 2013 and still using it right now as i write this review. It is labeled as a ‘gaming mouse’. Though it does work jsut fine for gaming. The back and forward button are placed decently and are comfortable and work greatonly issues i have with it are the ‘auto fire’ and dpi butotn that ar eplaced on the left edge of the left mouse button. The front one ‘dpi’ is easy to accidently hit and you then have to scroll through clicking till you get your setting right again (the lights aren’t entirely clear as to the current setting)the ‘auto fire’ i find even easier to accidently hit and if you don’t realise you have hit it, it can be very confusing until you figure out that you have. It’s also not an ‘auto fire’ at all. It’s just an auto ‘double click’ that is compeltely useless in all games i have played with it so far (over 100 games). If you need a cheap mouse for gaming (or anything else) then the quality is great and last a long time.
As many others have said, the double-click feature is too easy to click on and go into double-click mode. I’m going to glue it so you can’t press the ‘auto-fire’ button by mistake.

I have a degree in industrial design though, so what i can tell you is why this is not a great mouse. The issue here is ergonomics. Specifically, button placement. Ideally, what you want is a situation where when the mouse is engaged into the palm of your hand, the side buttons sit comfortably under your thumb. For my hands this is simply not the case, with the further arrow button beyond practical reach for use. If you are a guy with larger hands this is a great and cheap mouse, but if you are a guy with smaller hands/woman with average hands this one may not be the best buy.
I bought this mouse in january 2013, and i was very pleased with it. I use it on it’s second dpi setting which is sensitive enough, the highest setting offers a lot of sensitivity. The programmable buttons work perfectly, i have custom settings in each game, and use them in web browsers for back and forward. The only problem i have had is that after 12 months of use, the scroll wheel has started to mess up, when i scroll down, sometimes it’ll scroll up at the same time and the screen just wobbles over and over, i’ve had to resort to using the click and hold scrolling. However, for the price, this is well worth 12 months of use, and i would highly recommend.
I was hesitant about trying this because it was a cheap price , but was pleasantly surprise and pretty happy with the product. I do wish i could disable the rapid fire button though.
Pros:feels nice in the hand even when it’s meant for right and left handed people. Four dpi modes, low, medium, high, very high. For left and right handed people. Side buttons do require some force unlike some others which is good if you grip rather hard. It pretty much glides when moved which i like. Cons:led dpi indicater is too bright when on all modes but low.
Great cheap and effective gaming mouse. Smooth mouse control (had to adjust my mouse settings on the pc due to my old one being really slow and had turned up the pointer speed). Only downside is the auto fire and dpi switch buttons, the labelling for them is quite small and an accidental click on the auto fire and not realising can make things. However once you know which button is which and you see the light change it’s not an issue. Highly recommend this and the zalman zm-k400g usb gaming keyboard for any gamer building/upgrading a new rig on a budget.
Its okay but after about 10-20 mins of using it the mouse suddenly decides that after any movement it goes through it must send another signal to the computer and make the mouse on the screen move a random amount of distance up. After leaving the mosue alone for a random amount of time (ie no regular amount of time leaving it alone) it goes back to normal. Then it repeats the whole if used.
DPI Adjustable from 625 to 2500

Bought to replace my exidting mouse of exact same model. It’s a great lightweight mouse etc. , however because it broke on me after 8 months (sensor failed to turn on) it will only get 3 stars.
In reality it is just too lightweight for a gaming mouse (unless your less than 1yo.
The best budget mouse i have used by far. I sometimes use this over my corsair m65.
Its a mouse and it works what more can you ask for when used on a laptop.
I loved this mouse but it has a very annoying feature the rapid fire button is next to the left click so if your gaming and click it not knowing it messes you up.
I find the cable a little stiff so when it hits something it can create some resistance in the mouse but overall its a good mouse. If you accidentally hit the autofire button that can be a pain though.
Great mouse for the price, would recommend.
7 Multi-buttons with Auto fire function for gaming
I really linke this mouse because it is cheap and there is no software required to program the buttons, you can just simply bind the keys in the game that you that so there is no faffing around changing setting every time you want to play a different game.
