Nikon N1-CL1 40 – Close up lens

Good filter as no macro lens for the 1 system yet.

This is advertised in the usa on nikonusa, but is available no where in the usa. Lacking a macro lens for the nikon 1, this does the job on my new aw1.

For the price, it was a quick fix to take better macro photos; however, it still doesn’t get as close as i would like for work. A macro-specific lens will be my next buy.

As expected, the nikon close up lens did not distort in any way and was very sharp – shame that they don’t do stronger ones.

I was skeptical about buying this from start as i have tried third party macro filters which is really unsatisfactory due to distortions. After purchasing this which cost about s$100 sgd including shipping fees, it was all worth it. This was what i was looking for, i can use my 30-110 lens and this glass can easily focus very close to my subject with no distortion at all. It wasn’t easy to get focus at the start but it’s smooth as silk as soon as you estimate the focal length right. Around 30-40cm away should be good. Finally picture quality with my v1 was fantastic.

I have returned this product as it was not for me. I have given it 5 stars as there are no other options to say that nothing wrong with the product at all, it just was not suitable for me. The return and customer service was fab.

I bought this whilst making my mind up whether to buy an f-mount macro lens to use on a nikon-1 body via the ft1 adapter. With this lens screwed into the stock 10-30 lens, you get to focus a little bit closer to the subject – but not much. If you already have the 30-110, you’ll find this more useful.

Product = 5 star, does what it does well and quality high as everprice = 1 star – this simply does not need to cost this muchso its 3 stars.

A great addition to all the 40. This filter works extremly well, giving pleasing results.

If you need to get close this is good value saves splashing out on a macro lens.
