Razer Ouroboros Elite Ambidextrous Wireless Gaming Mouse – Brilliant a must for any computer geek

Issues holding charge and would sometimes take a while to ‘wake up’ to use it.

Recently made this purchase and although i was slightly worried by all of the bad reviews this mouse had i was very set that it wouldn’t have any issues as i’ve been with razer for quite some time and they never fail me. To address some of the issues people have said they were having:some people said that they had weird lag and what not, i’m not getting any and it works great even without calibrating it to use your surface. Some say that it doesn’t have any curvature/is flat again i’m not seeing that as you can change the angle of the palm rest and extend it. Others say that it feels cheaply made and feels fragile, i actually have to agree slightly with the fragile part but that’s because of the extendable palm rest, ive put some pressure onto it and it holds very well but may move a little, the ‘cheap’ feel is actually the matte paint job they did. So far this mouse feels great and comes with great software.

This replaced my old mouse and took some getting used to but i’ve really warmed to it now, i think it’s great. The only issue is when i start up my computer the sensitivity is all over the place for the first minute or so. But then sorts itself out and doesn’t have anything wrong during use. The battery life and quality of the mouse without using a cable is brilliant.

Fantastic mouse, specially as i use it in my left hand, the plates stop your fingers dragging on the floor too.

Expensive but good value, i’m a left handed gamer and struggle to find any mouse that’s comfortable, but this is and with the detachable magnetic sides they make using it great, razer’s software is brilliant easy to use. This was so good i decided to buy the vespula mouse mat to go with it and razers software configures the mouse for that very pad too.

Love this mouse, it feels sturdy and great to use, it takes a bit of getting used to because of the shape but the adjustable palm rest really helps to make it fit my hand, the only issues i have is that there is a bit of play in the palm rest when it’s extended out, also the battery that came with my seems to be a dud as i have left it on charge overnight and the battery is still on 1 bar.

  • Great mouse, not getting any issues that other customers had.

  • Cool but expensive. Less than impressive battery but great customisation options.

  • The wait for a decent mouse is over.

This is an amazing mouse with so many features and abilities. Really like what it can do and it’s built really nice. Would strongly recommend this to anyone looking for a mouse as it does 10x more than your normal mouse. Does have a few issues though, read online.

Good feel to it, but the back palm rest feels a little wobbly unless you crank it as tight as it will go (so not really all that adjustable). Works well, but i’ve started to use it only while plugged in as the wireless was a little delayed at time (intermittent). Plugged in it works great but for some reason the battery needs charging whenever the computer is powered up, which means the battery indicator flashes for the first few hours whenever you turn it on (which doesn’t really make sense as it’s plugged in and it can be distracting if you’re watching a film and can see it charging). With just these things in mind i’d only give it maybe a 3, but the thumb rest on the side (and it’s opposite one for fingers not resting on the buttons) are really good features, and basically eradicate drag against the mat. Those along with the side buttons (easy but not too easy to trigger) push it up to a 4. There is also another button under each ‘thumb’ rest which can be locked to prevent accidental pressing, but that feature isn’t really needed as those buttons are tricky to press. It should be noted that those 2 buttons make the palm rest strain against itself when pressed (as you need to apply pressure on the opposite side to get the button to depress). Overall though, unless you’re left handed like me (and therefor require an ambidextrous mouse), there are better choices out there, probably for less money.

Definitely one of the best looking mice in existence, but is it the best overall?i used a logitech mx revolution for years, regarding it as the best mouse out there for my needs, but it finally died on me. I replaced it with a cheap wireless thing that did the job, but had many annoyances. I looked at a few mice to upgrade to, and in the end my faith in the razer brand had me settle on this. Here are some pros and cons that i have found so far. Pros:looks fantasticlots of adjustments to fit your hand betterlots of programable buttons, and a wide choice of things to program them to (media controls, volume, mic volume, keystrokes, macros, on the fly sensitivity changes. Anything i have ever wanted to do with my mouse and more)uses razer synapse 2. 0 so you can save your customised buttons. It will replay macros you have recorded for gamepads/keyboards too. Senstivity scale is ludicrous.

Perfect for gamers, will serve you quite some time – worth every penny. Razer do their job correctly.

Ignore the bad reviews, if you’re a lefty this is a must buy. At £100+ is does sound like alot, but i’ve gone through around 20 mice in the last 5 years alone each at £25 each or there abouts all small, fragile things. The ouroboros is everything but. It’s big, fills your hand nicely, light, solid yet has a nice slight give to it. The laser tracks on anything, the arm of my sofa, my leg or the table. (but not on glass ;)dpi can be changed on the mouse so you can instantly change pointer speed, there’s 4 extra buttons (2 per side) and the mousewheel has nobbly bits to add grip for your fingers. Palm rest can be adjusted up/down and back/forward making the mouse more comfortable to use. The side wings are magnetic so they snap off/on allowing for quick placement, the mouse snaps to the magnetised holder when being rested for the night to charge and a really nice braided mouse cable if you don’t want to go wireless. Excellent packaging, great manuals explaining all you need to know. Complaints: i always have some.

It’s the 2nd that i buy and still be the best mouse for lefthanded (if you want the full package like usb wireless rechargable batteries and good performance).

Amazing mouse, definitely would recommend.

To start, it’s a razer product so it has excellent packaging. Not essential but it is a very nice touch. When it comes to the mouse i have no complaints whatsoever. I was worried about buying it because people were saying the build quality wasn’t great. It’s a solid mouse, has a nice weight and the lights on the sides and scroll wheel look great. I got this to replace my rat 9 mouse because i found myself changing the battery twice a day, even with little use. I have had this for two weeks now and have not had to worry about battery life. I charge it up when i leave my pc (eating, watching a film) and that is enough to keep it going. Charging is so easy too with the dock, no awkward battery changes on this mouse. The price is a bit steep for just a mouse, but i spend a lot of time using it so i feel it is worth it,.

I’ve been using razer products for a while. I’ve had 2 razer naga’s prior to this purchase and have been 100% satisfied with the products. I’ve since stopped playing mmo’s so buying another naga seemed pointless even though i loved the products in the past. I purchased this after reading several reviews on several sights and via youtube too. I purchased this mouse and have been absolutely delighted with the performance both when connected via wireless or wired. The easy dpi switching with the two buttons below the scroll wheel are great for fast paced gaming action but the real beauty in terms of the dpi changing potential comes in the pre set ‘clutches’ on both sides of the mouse (which can be locked/unlocked if you don’t want or need to use them on the bottom of the mouse, also you can change the clutch dpi in the razer software you’ll be prompted to install if you have not got it already). As a right handed player, i find it a little difficult to use the right side of the mouse’ clutch but when using them, you can lower your dpi drastically while the clutch(es) are held in. The benefit of this really shines while sniping or looking to hit a slowly moving target. The manageability is fantastic. I’ve not even gotten to how the mouse feels in your hand yet but again, i’m more than pleased.

This mouse is undoubtedly a fantastic mouse and i have used it fore around a year and a half. The customizing of all the buttons is great, and the two buttons in the centre of the mouse are set to sensitivity already which is great. The charging mechanism in this mouse is simple and easy, and it is easy to exchange between wireless and wired. I am having some problems with it at the moment, as when i try to use the mouse as a wireless mouse, it simply flashes green at me until i plug it back in again.Overall, a solid great mouse.

I’m a professional software engineer and took a punt on this mouse because i was so hacked off with other mice i had previously purchased. I use a mouse for hours on end and need one which works. I use razer black widow elite mechanical keyboards which are superb so that is why i decided to try their most expensive mouse. This mouse is absolutely superb. It has a usb cable which then plugs in to small base station/charger/wireless transmitter. I guess the wireless is proprietary which is probably best because it just works. No messing around pairing up etc, it just works. Plugged it into my pc running windows server and it just works. Other than that, these are the features i like:1. You can alter the sensitivity on the fly – i.

Ergonomically designed to fit all hand sizes and grip styles

Its a christmas present that was requested, and arrived in very good time as ordered early, since installation of all the new bits and bobs into his pc only see him shortly for food and drink as he remains holed up in his darkened bedroom over the holidays 🙂 he says its great so cant grumble with a 14 year old’s view of this high tech mouse.

Very good looking razer product, high quality materials used. Easy and intuitive software synapse 2. 0 which works with other razer peripherals. Fantastic for gamers but also simple music photo and film editor works. No problems at all except the price. For that price you can get two really good mouses even better configurable. I bought it because i like razer gadgets, but latest asus mouse looks great too, and its cheaper. Rat mouses are nice choice either if someone likes the design. So one star less because of the price.

Amazing look, but software really sucks, it hasn’t problem until i switch from wired to wireless mode, then the cursor starts to move and track randomly and unproperly, to solve this issue, but not completely, i need to close synapse, wait 10 seconds, reopen synapse, and then switch the mouse off and on again; sometimes even those things don’t solve that issue. I really hope on a good software update. I can’t accept this kind of issue on a mouse of his kind and price.

Its fantastic razor great co and its many many technologies worth the buy from amazon.

I love the design and all the features like the magnetic side panels and the 1ms response time, they’re sooo good. Little dissapointed by the way that when changing dpi the mouse pauses for a second, really ruins the purpose of using variable dpi for gaming. Setting program specific buttons is a little more complicated than i expected. Also sometimes the x and y dpi go all funky, the y sensitivity will change to really sensitive and the x sensitivity will change to really low. So to sum up, little bit disappointed. However the kickass design and it’s reputation still make it a happy purchase for me.

After reading other peoples reviews i was worried about exactly what my mouse was going to be like but it comes in an awesome case and looks amazing, the interchangeable parts are awesome and it’s an incredible mouse, i don’t understand why everyone seems to be hating on it but trust me it is very worth the money.

Gaming-grade wireless technology with dock

Bought the ouroboros xmas time can’t fault the dpi and hand support features, it’s presentation box it came in was spectacular, it did cause a fault with the synchronisation docking platform and made contact to razer via live chat and performed various software changes but still didn’t work and with the help of amazon done an exchange within 24hrs no problems.

Just the right amount of buttons and the software’s great too – syncs up over multiple platforms and computers.

Very good mouse, i particularly like it for extended use at work. Very comfortable for large hands and its ambidextrous design allows for excellent customization which is great for a lefty. One thing to note, i have my laptop docked and when i undock the laptop the battery on the mouse will continue to discharge. I’ve considered connecting the mouse to the laptop via a powered usb hub. Also when the laptop is recdocked the mouse may not detect the laptop, i find disconnecting and reconnecting the power cable resolves this. With those two issues aside i’d readily recommend the mouse.

At first, i did not like this mouse due to the fact that it had a number of issues with it’s drivers / firmware. The mouse would freeze up for a second when pressing the dpi button for example (even during a game). Well, the issues have now been resolved due to firmware and driver updates and know i think this is mouse is great. I’m still not sure it is worth the price being charged for it though.

Not the best for my taste, i found it too light compared with my old mmo7 and the force required to press the bottom button on each side is way too much. I did find the maximum sensitivity absolutely nuts though.

Bought as a gift arrived quicker than expected. Brilliant a must for any computer geek.

It’s good, had to buy new rechargeable batteries for the wireless as the charge on the one that comes with it was poor (loses a star for that). Other than that great wireless mouse i couldn’t use a wired mouse for competitive fps again. Starting to get a bit worn after 4 years of hard use, but that’s to be expected with any mouse.

8200 dpi and 4G dual sensor system

I will put it bluntly to you. For the price it’s a serious bit of kit for a normal buttoned mouse, but the control is to die for. Being a lefty, i have always struggled with mice choice’s even had a right handed death adder, but i was still left feeling that you need to hold a mouse properly and control it while playing. With software the ability to detect even your mouse surface, being able to charge or play wired. It’s a mouse that i think has every single bit of razor’s rnd put their effort into. It’s comfortable it’s adjustable and has a high build quality. Buy one but done feel bad about the cost’s as my old razor is still working infact my daughter pinched it to play games with. As well you have also controls to move the resolution up or down for high or low movement’s and control, you have optical and lazer diode’s too. Just look at the spec’s and read about it, even watch a few you tube, videos i was a bit sceptical until i used it.

Modified the right side for my left handed use by grinding/filing down the small magnetic side piece.

I’ve had this mouse for 2(3?) years now. It’s not broken down on me at any point. I do use the wired over wireless as it’s use primarily for gaming so any lag you’d get with wireless for the sake of not having a wire isn’t worth it to me. I appreciate the amount of buttons on this mouse, all in easy range of fingers and use all of them in almost every games config.

As a left hand user this is a good mouse to use and without cables.

Wired or wireless its up to you how you use it great al round gaming mouse etc.
