Razer Naga Chroma Professional Grade Ergonomic MMO Gaming Mouse – Decent mouse – some pros and cons

I bought this because my razor diamondback died. I play a lot of world of warcraft in fact i have one full year total play time. That is to say in 10 years of wow i have spent one full year in front of my pc playing. I think this mouse and a lot of razor products are too expensive. This mouse has mechanical buttons which is good. However the 2 buttons behind the scroll wheel are totally useless and pointless. The first 3 buttons on the left hand side with the 2 buttons either side of the scroll wheel are the ones you will use 99% of the time. Sometimes i use buttons 4-6 but not often. I don’t know if anyone will use all of the side buttons because of the need to reposition. Maybe it would be possible if you used your keyboard for all your movement.

I have had razer naga 2014 for over two years so i think it is time for a review. Well first of all, the scroll click button stopped working after a year (i don’t even use it that much) and cable went a bit dodgy. I have then purchased the logitech mouse with side buttons. Couldn’t get used to its plasticky cheap feel and returned itso i am still using the naga despite one of its buttons not working; i have remapped the broken scroll click button to one of the two top buttons using the razer synapse software, which fixed the issue beautifully, i was not using those top buttons prior that anyway. I use the side buttons when playing wow and can’t imagine playing without those extra buttons anymore. Another down side is that the side buttons are hard to clean. I don’t see myself ever using a different brand of mouses, i am too used to it now and don’t see a reason to switch. I just wish the razer products lasted a bit longer. Sadly it is not just from my experience, a lot of my friends use razer products and have issues with their longetivity as well. Thank you for reading and if you find my review helpful, please let me know by clicking ‘yes’ below.

This mouse is a huge upgrade to the previous razer naga 2012 edition with its new ergonomic design and familiar feel. Thank’s to its design this mouse also feels far more sturdy and hasn’t let me down in over a year’s worth of gaming. I personally combine this mouse with razer’s deathstalker keyboard; not only do they go together perfectly in terms of aesthetics but i like the option to programme both with razer synapse to make everyday gaming far more enjoyable. I would seriously suggest switching to razer if you haven’t already.

The perfect it treat for the left handthree things:1) general feedback: design is perfect, palm is perfectly sits on it; buttons are fairly easy to reach and the whole use feels natural to your hand2) it`s a gaming mouse and it delivers. Used it for league of legends with tailored key bindings and macros and wow; really increases your performance. 3) it`s more than a gaming mouse: as not being a teenager i`ve got other stuffs to do on my laptop and bought this mouse also for the high amount of programmable buttons on the side. Makes my life in windows and in programs very much easier. All key combos can be programmed on the side (ctrl+f4 to switch between chrome tabs; ctrl+c; ctrl+v, enter, backspace button to go back on pages and the list goes on). Makes it so comfortable that i don`t have to reach out for my keyboard to push these keyboard combos. Highly recommended not just for gaming but for browsing, cad design or for anyone who uses a lot of keyboard buttons. :)only small issue i have is with the software (synapse) if you unplug it when the laptop is switched on and re-plug it the software forgets the key bindings (solution: need to sign out and in again in windows).

This arrived quickly and well packaged. I currently use the left-handed razer deathadder gaming mouse and have been very happy with it, but always feel i could do with a few more buttons. So as a left-handed gamer, i was excited to see another specifically left-handed gaming mouse enter the sparse market, and with it’s extra programmable buttons i couldn’t wait to try it. Unfortunately it turns out i have small hands – tho measured against my other female friends, they seem average for females, but compared to my partner’s hands, they are rather small. I could not properly nor comfortably grib the naga and have access to the buttons, it was always a choice of using the mouse or stopping and using the buttons which isn’t any good at all and did not allow for streamline gaming. Whilst trying to use it, i did find it very easy to set up the mouse and it’s buttons and i imagine for someone with ‘normal’ size hands, this would be a perfect left-handed gaming mouse. If it had been smaller, would definately have kept it but unfortunately due to it’s size, i had to return it.

I upgraded from a deathadder chroma which i used for 18 months (it still works fine btw and has been repurposed), i bought this mouse because i’m starting to play more mmo’s like wow, stwor and guild wars 2, this mouse makes those games easier to play. At first the mouse is a bit strange to get used to, other people on here have said that the buttons on the side are too easy to hit, which i don’t agree with, they require a tactile movement of the thumb to activate the buttons. The mouse feels great in the hand, i have fairly average hands and to me anyways, it feels better than the deathadder because of the ring finger rest on the side of the mouse. This mouse is so good in fact that shortly after i received it on christmas day, i decided to buy another one for my laptop so i can continue to play games like wow and stwor on the go without having to change my keybindings all the time. All in all it’s a good mouse and judging by the quality of the deathadder that i previously used, it should last a long time with continued use.

I’ve been using nagas for the past 5-6 years as my main gaming mouse and i can not recommend them enough, they have been durable and for mmos they are a must to bind all of the abilities with ease. I have tried various alternatives over the years out of curiosity but keep coming back to the naga. My only quibble with the 2014 and why i docked a star is i find the tilt of the mouse wheel activates too easily causing the wrong command to be sent, this is more apart out of games such as when opening new tabs in chrome. I don’t feel the mechanical keys have made any difference, so with the tilt wheel as is, while i would recommend it, it may be better to try the previous model which you should also be able to get cheaper.

Great shape especially if you use your middle finger to press the right click button. The shape is very comfortable too use, just tried it for a day of gaming and it has not made me uncomfortable or tired of using it. The scroll wheel works well. The wire is good, as in not too stiff and not too weak in other words just right to not get in the way and not to break. My only complaint is that some of the side buttons sound like they have thin plastic or something sticky underneith them, i wear headphones though so i don’t hear it. Functionally the buttons work perfectly however the sound that some of the buttons make is a bit weird. Tried the corsair scimitar but it was very uncomfortable for the way i use the mouse (middle finger right clicking) whereas this mouse is designed for my way of using a mouse.

I bought this because i have in the last 12 months started playing more games and found that my standard pc mouse was not giving the gaming sensation i felt i wanted. I am a right hander who chooses to use my mouse in my left hand. Up until now i’ve only used ambidextrous mouse units so they can be in either hand. But this time, having realised that some games i can’t play with the mouse in the right hand ‘cos it just feels wrong, i decided to splash out on a left handed gaming mouse. That led to the problem of finding one. After looking long and hard at this and the few others available i bought the naga – and i love it. I admit there are still a few occasions when i mis-click on one of the side buttons, but it is happening less often. And the mouse itself is a perfect size for my hand. I love the weight of the mouse and the click feeling is excellent. Basically i love this mouse.

This mouse is absolutely unbelievablethere is more buttons that you can shake a stick at. I was dubious about spending such a large amount of money for ‘just a fancy mouse’, and my intended use was to help me when playing world of warcraft. The extra mouse can be used in other applications such as lightroom and photoshop. It is very intuitive and easy to use. The optional software has to be downloaded from the razer website. The software allows customisation of the mouse, including some basic control of the lights. Best of all, your settings are stored in the cloud, if you use the mouse on another pc, just install the application and log in and your settings are downloaded instantly. The mouse feels good in the hand, not too big nor too small and is an idea weight. The cord is braided, and very lengthy. The mouse oozes of build quality with attention given to the tiniest of details.

A definite improvement on the previous version. Although it’s lighter overall than the 2013(?) version it still manages to feel a bit more like a premium mouse. There are textured rubber surfaces on the right side of the mouse, what looks like ‘air intakes’ on the front and, instead of the old ‘swap between 3 grips’ design they’ve just stuck with a more ergonomic shape that seems to work for me anywaythe biggest improvement comes in the form of the raised, mechanical buttons on the thumb pad. The new version of these keys are sensitive and responsive, as well as being far easier to distinguish by just touch. If you’re used to the low profile, harder to click (and easy to ignore) thumb keys on the old version then this may take a bit of getting used to. I’m sure razer’s synapse software is probably quite good at this point but, unless you need to turn off the lighting or have multiple sensitivity profiles i think it’s pointless – it works fine without it installed.

While i have always been a fan of the razer naga, i cannot whole wholeheartedly recommend it. While it has a smooth clicking action, and the side buttons are highly useful, the build quality leaves too much to be desired. I have been through three of these products in as many years. The mouse wheel broke on the first and the right-hand clicker snapped on the latter two (and the products were not dropped (perhaps click too hard?)). The latest mouse lasted only 5 months. A nice mouse, but it is as fragile as it is poorly constructed. However, i have given this product three stars as it was nice while it lasted. This product is in no way shape or form worth anywhere near the price they are charging for it. Fooled for a third time, but no more.

I’ve had mine for about 18 months and i absolutely love it. There has been some debate this past few years that razer products have went downhill in terms of quality control which is why i thought to leave it a while before reviewing it. Happy to say that i’ve had no issues with mine at all. The mouse is comfortable in my hand and has a nice weight to it. The button layout is perfect and very customisable thanks to the razer synapse software. This allows you to change the function of every button as well as set up your lighting and colour effects if you’re into that sort of thing. I don’t notice any difference in response times between wired and wireless modes even when in fast-paced online multiplayer. The dpi can be set anywhere between 100 and 8200 so you’ll definitely be able to find a value that suits your needs. I should mention that the customisation sofware, razer synapse, has come under some criticism on online forums for being a bit of a resource hog. I can’t say i’ve noticed any issues with it but i mention it as it may affect those will less powerful systems so just a heads up. Owned the original orichi and needed an upgrade. This is the only small form (mobile) mouse which has both wired and wireless functionality. Being a small form factor it can only be used by claw style or fingertip style mouse users. Some people may also not like the clicky scroll wheel. Has great response and the razer synapse software is a good companion to the hardware. – the rubber grips on the sides feels a little cheap and feels like it will wear bald in time. – the low energy bluetooth mode means there is quite a noticeable wake up lag time (even though it’s only a few seconds). – the wired connection is really tight and has no locking mechanism.

Had tracking issues since day one with the mouse but i think that was due to the razer synapse software for the mouse but then several months later i was having different kinds of tracking issues like the mouse moving on it’s own or it quickly flicking up or to the side of the screen, anyway i got my money back for the mouse and brought a replacement with the refund to give the mouse another shot as i really like the button whee layout and use and for months have gotten use to them but i suggest if your looking for a new mouse then either go with the logitech g502 rgb or maybe steelseries and corsair mouse’s as they are more ergonomic for your hand and pc gaming in general.

For the past 9 year i have only had razer nagas. I went from the molten to the epic, to the classic and now back the epic. The molten had to be renewed because my cats broke the cable, my first epic, my cats broke the cable as well, but razer renewed it free of charge. I had it for 5 years before the sidebuttons stopped working due to overuse. I use this mouse day in day out. Because it broke and i needed urgently a new one and because they didn’t sell the epic version in the shop close to where i live i bought the classic. But my kid kept pulling it in the ground. So i now switched back to the epic. But this one is so much better than the previous one.

I’ve used a few razer naga over the years as my main mouse before recently switching to a logitech g305. The thumb buttons are very useful when playing mmo and moba games for additional and easily accessable bindings. However sometimes they are a little too accessable and can be misclicked. Generally the build quality is decent however there is a known issue with the scroll wheel having a very limited lifespan compared to the rest of the components. I actually had this happen on my previous naga and the scrollwheel randomly jumps and triggers on it’s own and made the thing unusable. I did replace it with another naga though so didn’t disuade me from buying again. The mouse has a slightly larger form factor than the g305 that i am now using. It has quite a high hump on the top and the side grip on the right of the mouse makes the mouse a lot wider than most other mice. It is quite comfortable to use with a claw grip however the height of the hump sometimes gets in the way for me. It’s not the heaviest mouse but it is certainly not light compared to other options.

I love this mouse i really do. The only problem i have with it is when the computer boots it takes _so long_ to load my button settings. Cache my settings locally razer. By all means load my settings from the cloud or whatever but cache them locally so that i can use the mouse straight away on boot. Please?this might not be a problem for you but let me just point out by default the mouse is in left-handed mode. By that i mean the left and right mouse buttons are flipped by default. You can swap them round but due to the aforementioned delay when the computer boots it does mean your mouse buttons are the wrong way round for a hot minute while it loads its settings. Oh something i got stuck with too – if you seem to be unable to unset the left mouse button it’s because you have to bind left mouse to something else first, the configurator will not let you have no left mouse button. Assign the lmb to another button _then_ you can set the physical button to something else.

Been using the old razer naga for more than 4 years and was thinking for an upgrade to a naga epic chromathe good:1. Razer synapse supported for macros and chroma lighting2. Tactile side buttons and completely customisabl, you can feel every button you press3. Magnet on the docking charger makes charging the mouse easier4. Has a good weight on itthe bad:1. The cursor occassionally jumps which makes it frustrating sometimes, but after using it for a month or two the jumping stops2. When the mouse is on when its is docked on the charger the cursor tends to move to bottom left of your screen. Can easily be overcome by turning your mouse off before docking. Its a wireless mouse not a bluetooth mouse which means that you need to have the charging dock connected to your computer at all times as it also function as the wireles receiver for the mouse.

Reviews from purchasers :

  • Very good for sound editing software
  • Serves its Purpose | Could be Better
  • Great mouse too big for my female hands

The razer naga chroma is a gaming mouse aimed at mmo, and moba players. With a 12 button thumb grid on the left side of the mouse, and a very comfortable, ergonomic shape. Pros…- no sensor rattle- ergonomic design with 12 button thumb grid on left side- small-medium hands (palm/claw), large hands (claw)- weighs roughly 105g without the cable- rgb lighting- braided cable (isn’t too thick or stiff)- programmable buttons- 2 dpi buttons- dpi / polling / lod options- surface calibrationcons…- laser sensor (pln-2034 pte), has acceleration issues, and a little latency- limited to palm/claw grip, not much range of motion- software requires signupgenerally speaking, a high accuracy sensor isn’t vital for mmo/moba play, but i can’t help but think that an optical sensor should have been implemented into the naga chroma, that way it could be used for competitive fps play too. Nevertheless, the thumb grid is the main selling point of this mouse, and that works as intended. If you would like to see a more in-depth video review, search youtube for “joshtechbytes razer naga chroma review”. I have included some pictures from multiple angles, as well as with some other mice for comparison.

**i purposefully waited a couple of months before writing this review so i could share my results over a long period**i bought this mouse as i use audio editing software every day for work (at least 8 hours). -comfortfirstly i wanted a mouse that would be comfortable to use over long periods. What i have found so far is it is a huge improvement over the apple mighty mouse i was using for years previously. My hand sits nicely on the top of the mouse and i don’t find myself stretching much at all. I like how you can finely tweak the dpi (sensitivity) of the mouse to ensure minimal hand movement. There is a nice weight to the mouse which also seems to help give smooth tracking. It doesn’t seem as heavy as the razer naga with 12 buttons which i tried also. -functionalityi bought a mouse with extra buttons as i wanted to be able to program useful shortcuts and macros that i use all the time in order to speed up my workflow. I chose this mouse because i think that 7 buttons is about the limit for me to be able to use quickly and still be able to remember what is assigned where. The 12 button mouse seemed far too squared together and i would often hit the wrong button.

It’s a decent mouse, well thought out with some clear positives. I have tried some of the competition and have decided to keep this one. The positives:1) this is a very comfortable mouse. I would compare it in shape/size to my logitech g502, which is also very comfortable but doesn’t have as many easily accessible buttons. I tried the logitech g600 but found that mouse too wide for my hand/grip. 2) the button arrangement is better than the grid-style in my opinion. Yes you have less buttons (7 vs 12 on the side), but some of the buttons in those grid arrangements are hard to reach and i found myself misclicking a lot using the grid. 3) the razer software is pretty easy to use – i had no issues customising the function of each buttonthe negatives:1) the mouse doesn’t glide quite as smoothly as some of the competition. I’m comparing this to the logitech g502 and g600, which both feel much smoother. This feels and sounds a little bit scratchy in comparison to the others.

The mouse build and ergonomics are great, the side buttons are down right amazing, especially in mmos. Unfortunately, the tracking experience on wired and wireless mode wasn’t up to par with the razer deathadder chroma. I was previously using the deathadder and was upgrading to the naga for mmo use, but i cant switch from absolutely perfect tracking to what i experienced with the naga epic. I am a huge fan of razer and their products, but i am definitely not blind to issues. If tracking isn’t the most important thing to you, then this mouse should be perfect for you, but as far as i’m concerned, the deathadder is far superior for gaming.

The mouse itself is a fairly good mouse. Looks nice, and more importantly, works quite well in games (although it will no doubt take me a while to get used to it). What removes one star from it is the software. Razer seems to have this reputation of not having very good software, and synapse seems to fall under this ‘not very good’ moniker. Tried to install it, gets stuck. Find the program under start (despite having not installed properly), log in with a newly created razer account, tries to update, get’s stuck at 64%. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling with antivirus on and off. Apparently this is a fairly common problem, some people where able to fix it doing the above, some weren’t.

A great and portable mouse that can be used wirelessly with bluetooth or with the included cable. However when comparing it to mice of similar prices, it comes out below and on top in its different modes. Wireless: 6/10when used wirelessly this mouse is limited to a 125hz polling rate, which when added to the innate latency with bluetooth leads a very palpable input lag. Not acceptable when gaming, or even for productivity. This is less of an issue with web browsing however. The battery life is great and the rgb lighting works seamlessly. 5/10when you plug this mouse in however, everything changes. The polling rate is now allowed to open up to 1000hz and the latency is gone. The sensor is great, as per most of razer’s lineup.

I’ve used several different gaming mice; the original razer naga and the classic logitech mx518 being the main ones. I chose the razer naga hex this time for its slightly oversized side buttons compared to the original naga – the six buttons on the hex are enough for me (wow) and it is more important for me to be able to accurately hit the correct button in the heat of the moment – which was sometimes difficult with the original naga as the buttons are small and many. The naga hex is a smaller than average mouse with a rest for the ring finger. Average sized adult male hands probably won’t fit their palm onto the mouse; it is more the style of mouse that you claw with your fingers (which is what i have to do). I quickly got used to the hexagonal side button arrangement and they respond with a satisfying microclick just like the main mouse buttons on the top. The scroll wheel is light but not free spinning – i’ve had mice in the past where you could flick the scroll wheel and it would keep spinning – this one doesn’t. Sensitivity wise it is great – no issues for me but then i play mmos not fps. All in all a good little mouse.

It works well as a mouse, however the mouse seems to be built with the problem that the scroll wheel starts to fail after a few weeks/months. If it wasn’t for that, the mouse would be perfect. Because of this issue, it makes it a pain to use, especially in fps games as because of the broken mouse wheel, it occasionally registers the slightest touch as a mouse wheel scroll and changes the in-game weapon. So, if you are thinking of buying this mouse, it is very hit and miss as you can get a mouse where its mouse wheel will begin to fail very early on, or you can get one where the mouse wheel will begin to fail much later.

Once you start using a razer naga mouse you will find it very difficult to go back to using anything else. Obviously this device is designed with mmo gamers in mind, however this mouse performs admirably well with other game types too. It will take you time to acclimatise to using the side buttons and you must commit to it, since once you get the hang of it your gameplay will be improved. Having all of your keybinds under your thumb really does make your gameplay faster, more precise and saves you reaching halfway across your keyboard to reach a key. It will take you a few weeks of general use to really say to yourself that you’ve mastered the naga. Having owned the 2012 version of the same mouse i can say that the first thing you notice is that it’s a bigger mouse, but not uncomfortably so. The new mechanical number keys feel strange at first, but again with time become second nature; especially so if you are already used to using a naga. The build quality feels so much better than the previous model with the mechanical keys adding to the premium feel of this mouse. I also like the tiltable scroll wheel (something i feel the previous generation should have had), since it is useful to acquiring your next and previous targets in games. Razer have not always been known for their reliability and i myself have been bitten bitten by this.

I purchased this mouse to aid my gaming habits, and make games which require a lot of key binds more comfortable to play (i’m looking at you, dota 2). I have been using it since purchase for over a year now. Upon my first use, coming from a cheap £10 asda mouse background, i immediately notice the jump in build quality. This mouse is not heavy, but heavier than your normal cheap quality plastic mouse; this gives the mouse a lovely feel of structural integrity to it. The left and right mouse click buttons required significantly less pressure to activate than my previous mice; at first i found this rather difficult to deal with, and found myself continuously clicking accidentally, over time however i grew accustomed to this change and came to genuinely appreciate it. The mouse is extremely ergonomic, and i can’t say i’ve had any issues with hand pains using it for very extensive periods of time. After eventually growing accustomed to the new mouse, i settled that the addition of the multiple buttons were extraordinarily useful. The side keys are a great addition which allow me to use multiple items/abilities in games simultaneously; although it remains difficult to use all 12 keys for me due to the way i hold the mouse making the back row of keys difficult to reach. The ability to sideclick the mouse wheel is brilliant, allowing you to bind it to items, abilities or keys which need immediate activation. I personally do not find any use for the on the fly dpi change buttons, however i can imagine that some individuals would find them exceedingly useful in games such as call of duty.

One of the greatest mice i have ever used, it took a bit to get used to the layout and even now i press some of the buttons on the side. I use it mainly for warcraft as there are so many skill options and you can easily bind keys, macros and custom stuff to any of the mouse buttons. The lights are quite funky too, you can change the pulse, colour and brightness and this is all in the free software available to download. Very good product, extremely high quality.
