A4 Tech A4 X-748K Gaming mouse 3200 dpi/USB – Excellent Mouse

I it use to play wow and is very good. Survives about one year of hardcore use. Worth it and easy to config.
I bought this mouse back in august 2009. Its now january 2012 and after years of flawless gaming ‘including some serious hardcore mmo and fps use’ th left mouse button has finally started to stick and not register all clicks the time has come to replace it at last. Ive had more expensive mice in the past that have not lasted half as long as this mouse or been as good in use. If it wasnt for the newly released anker® high precision programmable laser gaming mouse with 8000 dpi, 9 programmable button, weight tuning cartridge, omron micro switcheslooking so promising for not much more id have happily bought one again in an instant and certainly will do if the other mouse doesnt prove to be so good.
I recieved this earlier today, plugged it in and got straight to business, the included software is very powerful, all buttons being assignable to anything you like. Loaded up a game and the difference between the cheap mouse i had before and this is unbelievable. It also features software that all but elminates the recoil on guns, which is a very nice feature to have. I think the 3200 and 2400 dpi settings are far too twitchy, they send the thing shooting off across the screen too fast to see. I’ve changing the dpi setting as i go along, makes the mouse very useful for a variety of things. It handles everyday computer use nicely too.
Bought this mouse about 2 years ago and still going strong. Amazingly comfortable and has lasted well. Going from a cheap, unergonomic mouse was a bit of a shock but it’s so much nicer to use. I have it on my work pc and sees lots of use week in/week out. Has been used for limited gaming but for the price i don’t think it’s possible to complain.
Good:- perfect shape, really comfortable (bigger than most mice, but my smaller-handed girlfriend also finds it comfortable)- multiple dpi settings are great for switching between games and work- software is fantastic and easy to use- saving settings to the mouse itself is an amazing ideabad:- nothingnote:- when changing the mouse settings using oscar, you must remember to save the updated settings onto the mouse.
Great mouse, got nothing bad to say about it really except that the scroll wheel broke. It still functions as a clickable scroll wheel so its not too bad for gaming still.
- Can’t really fault it
- great mouse
- almost 100% good

I bought this initially to play games on my laptop , but after buying a ps3 i have not really used it on gaming for that long. It was however very responsive when i did and the quick change button on top allows you to go through 6 sensitivities so you can be aiming with a low sensitivity then in a few clicks you are back to medium or high for moving about. This is also excellent as a normal mouse, i have assigned the two side buttons to forwards and backwards in my internet browser which with the scroll-wheel means very little moving of the mouse is needed. This was my first step up from a basic cheap mouse, and i cannot stand going back to a less sensitive mouse, everything seems to take forever. There is a weight holder in the base , looks a bit like a revolvers bullet chamber with 6 weight in a circle and one in the middle. This means the weight can be varied by changing the amount of weights of buying extra weights to put in. Admittedly i have not used this feature and i have left all of the weights in as it came, so i cannot comment as to how effective this method is at controlling the weight but the option is therefinally the amount of dpi for the price is amazing value, i would definitely recommendpros:-very sensitive mouse-6 settings to change between, not stuck on super sensitive-great price-software included to map keys or sets of keys to buttons on the mouse-variable weight holder insidecons:-cant think of any ( i have had this mouse for roughly 18months and it has never let me down and still works fine ).
I bought this as a razer copperhead replacement and am very impressed. Pros- fully customisable in all aspects (weight system, on the fly sensitivity, lighting dynamics, macros etc)- excellent build quality (on par with razer)- lots and lots of well placed buttons- sleek look and not too over the top- very cheap for what it iscons- manual could be more straight forward (it’s not all bad but it is obviously a rushed translation)- may be too large for small girls/children- this is an optical mouse as opposed to a more advanced laser one but i can tell no difference between this and my previous copperheadfor the cash this product is probably the best interface upgrade you can get at the mo – don’t be put off by the fact that this is not from a mainstream manufacturerupdate: i am still using this mouse years after i bought it. It’s lasted the test of time and is still going strong.
This thing is a monster, almost 2 yrs and working perfectly :).
I’ve had this mouse about a month now and overall i’m very pleased. A point to note is that this mouse is designed for right-handed users only, lefties are out of luck i’m afraid. The mouse comes with a cd and some extra plastic feet which was a nice touch. Firstly, the mouse is pretty well built and comes in a matte, soft plastic finish. I’ve got average sized hands and the mouse fits nicely. It’s very comfortable to use. The adjustable weights are in a compartment at the bottom. There are 6 weights included and they do make a difference. Personally, i take all the weights out and mouse glides very nicely. You can use your whole hand or some people prefer using just their fingers.
And as for price, a bargain. Feels good to use, adjustable weight, and doesn’t feel cheap. Overall, i’d definatly recommend, and it’s definatly worth 5stars.

Poor performance in comparison with older model and the price.
A bit on the expensive side, considering it’s an a4 mouse, but it does not feel cheap to the touch, and works well. Eventually the mouse wheel starts moving randomly backwards/forwards. Also beware that the forwards/back buttons are apparently ‘reversed’ relative to other manufacturers, although i prefer a4’s layout.
Let’s get straight down into the review, and talk about the feel of the mouse itself. Coming from a cheap (very – £3) mouse to this one was a little shock to the system, simply because of the shape. I imagine that most gamers would have no qualms with this, but my thumb was too far up the side of the mouse originally to be comfortable. After getting used to it, it makes perfect sense that the side-grip is positioned where it is, and then the right side of the mouse is surfaced with the same matte slightly-grippy material as the back to provide just enough friction for your thumb and hand, respectively, to stay put. The main two buttons have a good physical response that is clean and crisp, and the scrollwheel push is on the same par, also producing a smooth, quiet scroll. The side and front buttons (three in total, two and one resp. ) are placed in reasonable positions and are programmable by software downloaded from the web site or from the included cd, and these are then uploaded to the mouse and can be ported from machine to machine. Currently whilst playing cod4, my front is weapon change, and my sides are reload and grenade. It’s handy to have common tasks like these very close by. The side buttons are also textured differently to allow distinction between them when you’re looking at the screen instead.
At first i didn’t like the size or weight (which is adjustable) of this mouse but once you get used to it it becomes part of your hand. High build quality, and very responsive at a good price, you cant really go wrong with this mouse.
I bought this for my gf as a replacement for her mouse as it was spazzing out whenever her mobile phone rang and the first thing i could say about it is that the general usage is outstanding, very nice mouse great feel and the software was very simple to install. There are 7 buttons on the mouse whihc you can assign macro’s which is a nice touch. The only downside to it was the size she has small hands so it will take some getting used to as her previous mouse was considerably smaller. For the average male who have fair sized hands it’s perfect. Also it’s very accurate and has great response. All in all i give this mouse a 4. 5/5 (and that’s only because of the size). Delivery was really fast too just took 1 day after being dispatched by the company.
As a gamer, we need responsive easy to use mice. Everyone knows that a mouse is important in gaming and this ones is perfect. I just bought a replacement to my original one of the exact same model which was wearing a little thin after 5-6 years of constant use. For the price this is the perfect for me. Its comfortable, has programmable buttons, and even a easy dpi changer. In addition to that its far less then mice of the same quality (steel series and razer i am looking at you) and just my favorite mouse. Dont waste the money on a more expensive one, get this.

Okay, i just got this mouse, so i will update this review if my opinion changes. I just unboxed it and started using and i freakin love it. Blows my older logitech mx518 straight out of the water. At the time that i bought the logitech it also cost £17ish (same price as the x-748k), but now the logitech is pricier and when i bashed the logitech and it started malfunctioning i got this one. However, my logitech is now back to normal (works as good as it did), but i’m still loving how awesome this second mouse. So much smoother and more responsive. If you want a great gaming mouse at ordinary prices, then look no further. (and it’s 3200 dpi rather than 1800dpi). One little grip — it come with a mini cd so it doesn’t fit into slot loading drives (like my xps laptop), but meh.
I have bought this mouse twice because i enjoy using it so much. It feels very comfortable and performs very well. I would recommend this mouse to anyone.
Simply put, it’s a very good mouse:- first of all: it’s very comfortable: the ribbed rubber pad under your thumb makes it a pleasure to hold this mouse. – buttons have very distinctive clicks, easy to click- side buttons are placed somewhat too high, so you will have to move thumb from normal ‘relaxed on the table’ position to hit them, but with practice i started to keep thumb below them and ‘roll’ it to these buttons without loosing mouse grip. Try it – and clicking these buttons will become quick and easy. – ‘third’ button in the middle is easy to reach and click (with my large palm)- never used the dpi button: used (provided) utility to set it to disable dpi switching and no blinking, so it doesn’t distract. – heavier than an average mouse with all the nuts in. Over three years:- place under little finger is polished and non-slipping surface is wiped out (who cares?)- ribbed rubber pad under thumb is now polished (who cares?)- gliding feet (stickers at the bottom of the mouse which make it glide, and spares of which you will get in the box) are still in place and i’m not planning to replace them. (i use mouse on a mouse pad all the time: heavy, thick rubbery base with cloth top surface)- the only downside is that recently the right button when pressed at the very far left edge, started to slightly ‘stick’ to the central bit of a mouse (where the wheel is), what makes it harder to press than to release, making overall performance lower, clicks less distinguishable, and harder controllable. So, meanwhile i just click any other place of that (large) right button with no problems.
This is simply the best mouse for the moneythe oscar programming software is easy and intuitive and didn’t require any manual reading. I have prorammed the little button next to the main left button to do a 3 fire ‘burst’ shot and my accuracy and speed of firing is now just inhuman in shooting games. The photo sensor handles my desk surface without any issues and the build is solid and nice to the touch. One minor niggle is that i could not get into the weights chamber to play around with the weight, but am not bothered.
I was after a gaming mouse, but as a casual gamer, couldnt bring myself to blow £40-50 on a mouse. I decided to risk goign with this mouse, which i found at another retailers for under £20, and so far i am very impressed with it given the pricefirst off the mouse seems pretty well build, no creaks or movement in the body. Fits in the hand nicely and all buttons respond very possitivley (bar the middle mouse button which is somewhat squidgy). Rubber thumb grip works well and is very comfortable. The optical engine seems to track very well from the limited gaming i have done with it, right the way up to 3200dpi (although this does make the mouse excessively sensitive). The adjustable weight feature is nice to have; in the base of the mouse sit 7 weights, which can be removed to make the mouse lighter. The most impressive feature about this mouse is the software that comes with it. Having read very little about the oscar software, i must admit i was very impressed. All of the buttons can be assigned different tasks; you can even create and assign a variety of macros.Furthermore, once you assign the relevant buttons, you can download the configuration directly to the mouse, so if you ever need to take the mouse somewhere without your pc (lan party etc.
I have had this mouse for just 2 days now and it performs great. I have played games from counter-strike to world of warcraft and it performs absolutely fine. This mouse probably performs better than my cousins mouse who has a steelseries world of warcraft mouse, although it doesn’t have loads of buttons it makes up for that with the 3200dpi switch is good if your switching games from fps to mmo. I would recommend keeping all the weights in as it doesn’t really make a difference. The highest setting of 3200 dpi os probably a bit much so i would stick to the red colour when playing fps’ and the yellow when playing mmo’s. As far as i am concerned this mouse is a good size and weight with a rubber grip on the sides for extra comfort in the mouse if you are oging to be playing for a while. The button next to the left click will help for fps’ if you are using a pistol and you want to shoot quickly as it has a three round burst and will kill an enemy on counter-strike will those bullets. For world of warcraft using the two side buttons was helpful as i could use them as macros for my most used spells, so making it easier to get to them is fine when in pvp or dungeons/raids. I am currently using this with the steelseries wotlk mouse pad and it works just fine as it is a gaming mousepad, i would highly recommend the mouse pad with this mouse as it has a large surface are and you wont need to take the mouse of the pad once when playing. I would highly recommend this as it is only cheap and most mouses of this quality are normally £50 or more.

Old generic optical mouse packed up, so was looking for a new one – i play games but also do a fair amount of work on the computer, so i didn’t want to spend a huge amount of money on a top range gaming mouse. It’s really an excellent mouse for both gaming and everyday use. All the buttons have a good ‘clicking’ feel. The 2 main buttons are soft-touch coated, the mouse wheel is lightly ridged, and the additional middle button and the back one of the 2 side buttons are bevelled. Took me a little while to get used to having the extra side buttons, but they’re quite handy for normal use – they default to browser forward and back but you can program them for other functions if you want. Movement-wise, it’s great – you can customise the sensitivity by pressing the led button on the top, though i usually have it at the 3rd lowest setting. It’s comfortable to hold, i think it’s fairly suitable to all mouse grip types – it’s fairly large but fine for me as a ‘fingertip’ mouse user as it slopes off nicely at the back. Anyway, would recommend both to gamers and people who want a high-end everyday mouse too – certainly feels a lot better than a lot of the more expensive microsoft and logitech mice i tried at the shops.
Straight to the point:1) the mouse is good, quite good infact. 2) 3 usual buttons + 2 side buttons (usual back and forward in browser) + an extra button + a illuminated sensitivity button + 7 little weights. 3) the scroller is nice n quite, unlike some other mouses. 4) 3 extra buttons can simulate any keyboard keys in games when customised. 5) nice dark discreet design. ———————————————————few minor bad points:1) i like things to be fresh, however my mouse had small scratch marks at the top, which meant somebody has tampered with it (quite annoyed by this). 2) 2 side buttons dont seems to work if provided software isn’t running, however the software is really good and doesn’t noticably use up processor time. 3) for some reason when viewing a pdf file in adobe acrobat, the scroll jumps a few pages when provided software is running, just close it down temporarily and you should be fine. ———————————————————overall: still a very amazing mouse, i’m enjoying it a lot, happy with its low price.
Perfect gaming mice in price/quality. New version is a same line in quality/price. Easy to menage speed/weight/dpi to your own pref.
I have fairly large hands and finding a mouse that i don’t have to curl my hand over is difficult. I use this at work where i am at a computer all day and this has drastically improved my comfort. Very responsive, a good cycle of different speeds. The click-keys have a rough surface and side-grips are in just the right place. Additional software isn’t really required, but could be helpful for some gamers.
Had this since 5 dec 2009 as tells me on the top of the products page and its still working perfectly. Being able to choose the weight of your mouse is good, i’ve just got used to the full weight as it gives a more solid feeling. I’ve used it between 2100 and 2400dpi and stuck with 2100dpi as any higher is a bit too sensitive. Three rounds burst button is pretty cool in fps games. This mouse under goes about atleast 4-6 hours of good usage per day and after 3 years its still functioning perfectly. Sure the buttons may have become a tiny bit loose but it doesn’t stick and thats fairly remarkable in my opinion. For the price its a bargain considering how long it will last you.
Very good quality for this price.
I’ve had this mouse about a month now and overall i’m very pleased. A point to note is that this mouse is designed for right-handed users only, lefties are out of luck i’m afraid.
the mouse allows you to fight 8 times faster than an ordinary low speed USB mouse
After more than 3 and a half years of using this mouse, some days for just 30mins, some days for 10hours plus – it has been faultless and keeps providing comfort and accuracy.
Used it 4 years and its now 2nd purchase.
Still using this right now, it’s not let me down yet.
This mouse offers resolution and capabilities for a considerably low price when compared with other products that offer similar specs. If you are using an ordinary 600/800 dpi mouse, buying this one will be like swapping a polo with a porche ;).
the customizable “DPI Button” with color indicator instantly shifts multiple sensitivity levels between 100 –
