G.SKILL RIPJAWS MX780 RGB Laser Gaming Mouse – Great features but disappointing flaws mean this is no G9x replacement

Great keyboard, as an avid gamer i had to get a mechanical the red switches on this keyboard allow me to make rapid changed in game and the extra programable keys allow me to ability to key bind tasks that would either be a work of finger acrobatics or would be so time consuming mean certain death in games. That said this keyboard is also great for working in general, wrote 1 30,000 word dissertation plus a years worth of course works and assignments and the keys are still going strong. The solid metal constructions as well means cleaning is easy and straight forward and with the included key removal tools and replaceable keyboard hotkeys makes cleaning this keyboard easy and worry free. Over all this product was a good investment and can easily have a lot of fun and longevity from it.

Easy to get to brightness settings etc and easily configured. Good programmable gaming keys. The bad:insufficient wrist rest. Don’t like the way it clips on and as soon as you lift the keyboard it drops offafter 4 days worth of proper gaming, in the middle of a game the keyboard kept walking the character off by itself after i’d taken my finger off keys. Don’t know if this is a common issue with this keyboard or not?. Have tried troubleshooting info on keyboard and quite a few people had similar issues. Have done everything to check reinstalled drivers, still having issues after all money spent on it. When i spent all that money on it for a specific gaming keyboard, not impressed. If you’re not gaming its a brilliant keyboard, but when you’re in a match and it keeps chucking you everywhere not great.

Takes some getting used to, but is an absolutely amazing keyboard.

Ok this is not really a negative review but it does point out shortcomings in this keyboard. This is about the uk version with cherry brown keys. There are a few issues i have found with this keyboard apart from the less than intuitive software. First off, the tilde/hash key next to the large uk enter/return key does not light when in single or background key mode. It works only when in lighting effect mode. This might be a bug though as i cannot see it being hardware otherwise the light would not come on at all surely?. Secondly the keys are only illuminated at the top of the keys. Keys that have more than one character assigned to them such as the aforementioned tilde key only light up the tilde and not the hash for instance. Thirdly the software is lacking a shortcut creation option. So you cannot create a macro key to change power profiles using ‘powercfg -s ‘profile” like you can easily do in logitech’s macro creation software.

Well this keyboard is something i have kept an eye on along with some other mechanical gaming keyboards such as the k70 and k95 rgb along side the razer blackwidow and chroma. The reason i chose this over the others is simply because its was a combination of them all improving but not always besting them but it had every feature. The thing i will say is that all pictures you see on the internet of this keyboard does not do it justice to how it actually looks in real life. Once you see it in front of you it is far more spectacular than in any picture and in my opinion better looking than both the k70/k95 and the razer keyboards. This is mostly due to it having better rgb lighting than the k70/95 and then having better build quality than the razer keyboards. So its the mixture of both as i was talking about it is still arguable that the razer keyboards lighting are a bit brighter and sharper and the same with the build vs the k70/95 it very much preference. I found that its build while having the very solid and heavy build quality was far more attractive than any of the other keyboards and just looks more aesthetically pleasing and futuristic while sitting on your desk. This build however also comes with some very useful features and is not all just looks. It has both a clip for holding mouse slack which i must say as a cs:go player is very much wanted. Then it has the custom gaming keys which i don’t use but they clip onto the top of the keyboard so they are right there ready for when ever i might find the need for them.

I expected different finished for the borders but is ok, matherials are good quality.

  • Not the best for Gaming
  • Great keyboard, as an avid gamer i had to
  • A very good all rounder

Took a day or two to get it to understand me. We are getting along finehighly recommended.

The buttons feel great and the weight is perfect but unless you have small hands then this mouse will not be comfortable, the mouse is very narrow so the width feels very uncomfortable and you need a very long thumb if you plan on using both the thumb buttons. I have big hands and can’t reach the front thumb button.

It is a very good and well made price at what i would say is a good price. – comfortable with nice adjustable side grips and palm height- nice customisation settings- quality build- good performanceit is definitely worth the money to buy this mouse. I’ve been using it for a few months now and i have had no issues at all.

Do reviews for my clansite ‘the nitwitts on enjin. A real quality gaming mat i almost missed. Very surprised and this has become a favourite.

Love this keyboard, it’s just pure quality. This is my first mechanical keyboard and the feel, sound and precision of the keys has been a revelation. Lots of extra functions too. The only minor detraction is that the lighting for the keys is variable, particularly on the number keys.

I’m not really the target market for this keyboard as i’m 63 and not game focussed (other than an addiction to civilisation) but i bought this keyboard as a replacement for a very old mechanical device. I wanted a good all round performance so went for the brown switches. I love the feel of this keyboard, the key travel is about right for me, the wrist support is good and it is as solid as a rock. The media controls are excellent, the volume roller is responsive and this was a key selling point for me. I wasn’t too bothered about the lighting effects when i ordered the keyboard but find i use the white backlighting most of the time and some of the effects can be quite elegant to the point where i sometimes use them when listening to music. On my desk the keyboard doesn’t look nearly as industrial as the photos, the top bar isn’t visible from a normal typing position. Overall i’m very happy with this device.

Disappointed with the mouse after having such high hopes of finally finding a logitech g9x replacement. Online reviews seemed good, so took the plunge. The mouse does a lot right: adjustable, ambidextrous side parts, additional optional weights, a real premium feel to the click of each button (including the side buttons), smooth gliding, great tracking. Unfortunately for me, the two main gripes i have with the mouse are deal breakers; the first issue is with the scroll wheel. Although it has a reassuring click to know when you’ve scrolled, it doesn’t allow side clicking (ala g9x) and because the placement of my hand (to be comfortable) meant i was quite far back down the mouse, the smooth surface on the wheel itself meant i have to think way more about the scroll process than i should. In 30 minutes of planetside 2 i failed to scroll to next weapon multiple times because the wheel provided little grip to actual start scrolling – something that my g9x has never failed to do in the 3 years of ownership. The second issue is with the placement of the rearmost side buttons; they are simply not far enough back on either side to be used comfortably, even as far back as my hand actually was. These two issues kill any hope that the mouse could be a winner for me. If you can see one up close and out of the box and your hand fits the design – snap it up, you won’t be disappointed.

This is my first gaming keyboard and is one of the best i tested personally. The colours are distinctive and the software takes about 10-20 minutes to learn but when you get the hang of it, you can create amazing things. Also the build quality is fantastic as it doesn’t bend at al.

Excellent build quality and features. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a top quality mechanical keyboard.

I’ve had my km780 rgb for 6 weeks. It was a little noisy (brown cherry switches) so i fitted silicon o rings under each key which helped a lot. They were only £2 but i had to wait a while for them. It is reassuringly solid, it doesnt flex even slightly. I use it on a sofa so it gets moved a lot. The bars round the edge are great for picking it up, exactly what i wanted even though i didnt know it. Its superb to type on, you can be sure you have pressed a key. The extra red keys with sloped surfaces for gaming keys are very good. They allow you to quickly locate the movement keys without looking at the keyboard. I thought they would be awful but they are now installed permanently.

Easy to set up, no issues with windows 10, very pleased.

Ambidextrous design, interchangeable side grips, height-adjustable palm rest, on-board profile storage, adjustable weights, Avago laser sensor, Omron micro-switch, 8 fully programmable buttons and customizable 3-zone RGB backlighting.

The setting of the dpi seems to keep resetting to lowest not sure if that was a faulty unit or i pushed the button by mistake but the switch for the dip setting is not that comfortable to use.

Absolutely love this keyboard. I’ve had no problems with the keyboard itself, it types well, the keys are smooth and the extra gaming keys are a nice touch. However the wrist rest had the soft touch paint on it that wore off very quickly, ebuysave however replaced it free of charge and they were very accommodating, i can’t recommend this seller enough.
