Corsair Katar Optical FPS/MOBA Gaming Mouse : One of the better mouses I’ve used

I like it, small, light and it works, gaming on the cheap.

Love the size, very ergonomical for small hands. Could use a thumb button or two.

First one died after 3 intense years, bought a cheap replacement and after 2 days got another one of these. Perfect balance of shape, weight and ‘feel’.

Bought this with intentions to upgrade shortly after. Don’t see myself ever upgrading. This feels perfect in the hand, great grip and very accurate for a great price.

This mouse feels like pure luxury in your hand. Its on the smaller side but still fits very nicely in my large hands. The soft touch feel really adds quality to the product making it a pleasure to use for longer periods. I especially like the one click sensitivity button located between the left and right mouse clickers. I was going to go for a a £10 mouse from amazon but i’m glad i spent a bit more and got a trusted brand and great product.

Nice mouse as starter can add up rgb control.

Nice grippy mouse and dpi selections are perfect. Recommend downloading the corsair software for the customisation options.

The mouse button works and the other one works to reduce the field of movement when in conjunction with the mouse wheel.

Plug and play on linux (ubuntu 14.

This mouse is almost perfect simple and easy to use no annoying side buttons. The mouse is light and very small. I wish it was lot bigger that fits perfectly on larger hands for even more comfort. However you can get use to it being small still be comfortable with it.

This corsair mouse is ok but i have used better, one issue is i often find when my hand is just resting on the mouse – the left button will click very easily, which sometimes when gaming is not ideal.

The light is a nice touch and matches the corsair k70 rgb keyboard.

I will admit, it it small, so if you have large hands, it might not be completely ideal, but for me, i don’t have a problem, it’s something i can live with. The button that let’s you quickly switch dpi is really great, you can either have it slow, or really fast (obviously). But the point is this is a great budget gaming mouse, and if your like me and hate a mouse with many buttons, this is great (which is why i bought it) the logo on the back with the red light is not really bright, so it’s fine. (in case you can’t tell, i really like this mouse) :)quick update: once you get the corsair utility engine installed, you can really customise the dpi and also adjust how bright the led is on the back. You can have the light off, darker or bright red, and even set it to pulse, which does what it says.

I spent about 5 hours looking through countless mice on amazon. This is that hidden gem find for a mouse. I’m a big moba player and i often struggle with those mmorpg mice etc. Which have all those clunky buttons on the side that just get in the way of my gaming. The pimpled rubber material on the side of the mouse is great for grip. Not something i’m used to as i’m always using your standard chunky mouse that comes with the pc. The smoothness of the mouse on the mat is great and the sensitivity is phenomenally fast, takes some getting used to but it’s beneficial for those moba/fps players looking for quick movements, reacting and fast clicking.

Excellent mouse, 5star product.

Ideal for a person with small hands.

Nice compact mouse but there is quite obviously better seeing as this has no programmable buttons and being a pc gamer and a graphics designer, you begin to realise how important programmable buttons are. Its a small mouse so if yoir hands are big like mine maybe go for something bigger; apart from that its a good mouse with a nice light with quick reaction times.

Corsair Katar Optical FPS/MOBA Gaming Mouse (8000 DPI Optical Sensor, Ambidextrous, 4 Programmable Buttons, Red LED Multi-Colour Backlighting, Xbox Compatible) – Black : It is very good in many respects, however as i like to rest my hand on the mouse, i found the buttons to be too sensitive and the weight of my hand can trigger the right click, as such, i returned it.

I bought this as a replacement to my old mouse and it is much nicer overall, nicer clicks and scroll wheel, nice software and generally its a huge upgrade to my old mousei do recommend for lefies too which is nice.

Great mouse, the light effects are cool and flashy, but it would be neat if there were more presets and colours. The sensor is responsive and you can adjust the dpi to your preference, super convenient for gaming. Having a button to instantly lower the dpi is advantageous in video games as it allows you to be more accurate when playing an fps game. The software looks somewhat dated but it runs in the background and the design of the software isn’t the big seller here. I primarily bought it because it had textured rubber padding which adds extra grip. You might want this if you play fps or own a plastic mouse. My accuracy has drastically improved because of it. I fear that i’ll never want a mouse without gripin conclusion, it’s a great mouse with textured grip. Improve your accuracy, experience and game.

For a left hander this is one of the better mouses i’ve used and feels good in the hand. However as someone else mentioned it is a bit juddery when it comes to the mouse movement, not the most precise mouse, also the middle button in my mouse broke one day just outside of warranty, so i’m no longer using it. As far as comfort for the hand, i found it the perfect size for hand and nicer to hold than most other mice i’ve been using, i had to send back about 5 as finding a good mouse to use long term especially for a left hander is a task. It’s good value for money also, i’ve bought £80 – £100 mice and they are all geared towards right handers and just can’t get used to them at all. Most of them offer nothing extra.

This mouse is fantastic in style and it’s ergonomic. It is great for left handed users. Installation software is pretty detailed. Overall best mouse i ever had and for a very good price.

Excellent mouse, bought for £24. 99 so pretty much a bargain for an 8000dpi optical mouse. I bought this as a secondary mouse basically just to play quake live with as this mouse is only 85g weight. My other mouse is a corsair scimitar which i have to say is a little more comfortable for my uses in day to day but for fps games the katar is the far better choice being much lighter and it just feels more responsive. I dont think you can get a better mouse at this price. I suppose the steelseries rival 100 is a good choice but i am not a fan of the dpi settings not having much customisation. The logitech g302 is decent too but comes in at £10 more, not worth it over this imho. This mouse does not have fancy rgb lights like some of corsair’s more premium mice but the sails logo does glows red. Also it is much brighter than the rgb lights on my scimitar. You also have a few professional games profiles to try out in the mouse although i have not felt the need to try any myself the option is there.

I have used this mouse for a few months now. If you just want a mouse without all the fancy buttons it’s a solid mouse to buy.

All round amazing mouse, good build quality and fashionable light. The mouse is reactive and highly responsive which is important mainly in gaming, however if your looking for a pure gaming mouse you may want to find another one with macros (since this doesn’t have any).

It is comfy, the perfect size for my hand, has a nice rubberised grip either side and is also super responsive, even below the highest dpi setting which is 8000. Using the scroll wheel feels nice and softly clicks as it is turned. I play a lot of pc games and this is perfect for gaming as well as regular use. There is also a program you can download to tinker with various settings. You can turn the led logo off via the program if you want to. You can also change how the logo light behaves and how bright it is.

Very good and comfortable shape.
