Roccat Taito Mid-Size Control Endurance Gaming Mousepad – Long lasting but shows wear

Ordered this as part of an entirely new build i put together, and (apart from my gtx 670) this could well be the part of it that exceeded my expectations best. Firstly the size – it’s mentioned in the ‘dimensions’ box in the product details, but it doesn’t really get across just how big this is for a ‘mid size’ mat. As a handy approximation, place 2 a4 sheets of paper portrait-orientated side by side. That’s roughly the size of this mat, so make sure you’ve got enough room on your desk for itthe surface itself is ideal – i know everyone has their preferences, but for me, this mat was ideal – nice and smooth, had a good slickness to it without being *too* fast. The underside clings to my (highly polished) desk like nobody’s business, so top marks there. I noticed some people were less than impressed with the packaging – i can only speak for myself, but i had no issues – nicely packaged (rolled up) and unrolled neatly, within half an hour of sitting on a desk, you’d never have known it was ever rolled up. Overall, i can’t find fault with this – for anyone who does heavy-duty mouse work either as a gamer or as part of their job, i can’t see any reason why you’d need to spend more on bigger-name mats other than personal preference.

I was looking for something on the larger side as i like to have as much real estate as possible for my mouse. When i bought it larger mousepads were not as popular like now with these ‘larger than your desk’ ones, which would not have prefered or used anyway. To the point though the mousepad is great, big enough to feel comfortable and nice looking with no overly large logos or graphics. The only downside for me is the thickness it has, as i would have prefered something thinner. It is only a minor annoyance though, not very noticeable and its just personal preference so it might be likeable to some people.

I was expecting a normal size mouse mat but oh no way, this is an a3 size massive mat. Its so big i need to put part of my laptop on it. This isn’t a bad thing though, it gives you more room to move your mouse on its beautiful surface. My logitech m215 glides on it like a dream. I am also currently bidding on the roccat kova which will work even better ten my logitech mouse. It has a nice roccat logo and name in the bottom right corner, to show off you have this amazing mat. It has a rubber grip underneath and doesn’t slide around like those old plastic type material mouse mats. It also can be rolled up, like when its delivered its all rolled up in the nicely decorated roccat packaging, so it doesn’t bend and stay bent. 5/5 for this gaming surface.

I bought this for my wireless mouse. Even though i can use the mouse on ‘any’ surface, i found it is much smoother on this mat.

Excellent mouse mat, super smooth surface with great texture – feels smooth and crisp but not slippy at alli got the 5mm for a bit of extra cushion, which is great, especially for long hours at the desk. Also its small enough (the mini) to fit next to my keyboard on a pull out keyboard shelf/ area (you know those ikea kind of desks with a hidden pull out surface for keyboard etc). Currently being used for work (web development), photoshop / graphics and gaming, performs superbly across all tasks.

Getting this stopped roccat mouse moving too quickly/slowly (had been used a plastic faced mousemat which needed constant cleaning and provided little control).

  • Very good
  • Feels good under the mouse, just a shame about the large logo.
  • Great mousepad, just what i wanted.

I choose this 5 star rating because for me it ticked all the boxesi got the roccat mouse pad because i had the razer vespula which is terrible to say the least (it basically fell apart after i opened the box- no joke) but i continued to soldier it through with this tiny mouse pad until about a week a go when i thought i need something big. I was searching for ages until i went round a friends house who had this mouse pad and i fell in love. It is awesome my mouse glides from side to side everytime. However do check the dimensions of your desk before hand because this mousepad nearly reaches the end of my deskwill defiantly be buying more products from roccat in the future.

I’ve had the taito for 4 years and it finally needed replacing. This is a perfect new generation for it. The surface is much better, as well as the rubber grip. I’m also glad they stitched the edge as the old gen edge got ruined very quickly.

Been using the roccat taito for over 8 months now, and got it to use in conjunction with the roccat kone +. For a cloth mouse pad i’m surprised it has lasted this long. I move my computer around to lan parties etc and roll the taito up a lot. When i wash it i put on the floor of the shower when i take one, the corners and the bottom edge are slightly frayed but only noticeable at very close inspection (i’m sure a little smidgen of glue would hold it down). I did have the taito rolled up for over a month and forgot where it was put, after i eventually found it i put it on the desk to check how much it changed shape and not lay flat but to my amazement it still remained completely flat on the desk. Right to the gaming aspects. The taito doesn’t move at all while in game great grip (having a polished wood desk and i don’t know how that compares to glass for grip). Still tracks well with the mouse and the printed logo and text in the bottom right hasn’t actually faded at all. It’s also very comfy while using the mouse. However i have bought three roccat products in the past and had very good packaging however the packaging with this was very disappointing.

Good quality large mouse mat. My optical mouse glides over it with ease reducing the build of rsi pain in my arm after long hours of use. I often go to other peoples desks to use a mouse and i am horrified by the amount of pressure or muscle power people have to use to move a mouse around. Use this and it feels like you pushing a feather. Strongly recommend for anybody with pain in their wrist/arm through sitting at a desk for long hours with a mouse and for those who are building up a problem they don’t yet realise will hit them through bad mouse/moue mat ergonomics.

Excellent product , just as good as my qck mat , love the 5mm mat cushions my heavy lift offs well. Perfect tracking , a little texture to the surface which is reassuring if you like that sort of thing , which i do. Tracks much better than my aging razer hard mouse mat. As overpriced mouse mats go this is the best of the cheapest. You’d honestly be paying for a name if you bought anything else. Both me and cs:go love this mat combined with my logitech mouse , i think i’ve found a sweet spot.

This mat, teamed with the rocatt kone xtd optical is a truly exceptional experience. Whereas with other mice the movement along the y axis, (up and down) is very sensitive and erratic, with this mat you don’t notice any of that. Mouse travels where you want, when you want and how far you want. Only had it a day, one thing i would say is that i think the edges may fray as they doesn’t seem to be any special attempt to stop is happening. However this is pure speculation, and to be honest at this price, and how it performs, would happily buy another if it did fray.

Used it nonstop/fulltime for 2-3 months along with a zowie fk2 gaming mouse and a zowie camade mouse bungee. The textile top haven’t started to disintegrate at the bottom edge like with some other ‘noname’ mousepads. I started playing overwatch (blizzard’s first person shooter) so ordered a few different mouse pads (different brands and sizes) including this one. The other brands include steelseries (which is also good but different) and some other ‘noname’ pads that don’t worth mentioning because of their immediately obvious quality issues. The main differences between my roccat taito and steelseries mausepads:- my taito pad is 3mm thick while the steelseries is about 2mm which makes the taito a little bit softer and i like that. Note that with a large mousepad the height of the mousepad doesn’t really matter (usually your whole hand and wrist is on top of the mosuepad and not on the edge like with smaller pads) but it can affect the softness of the pad. – the surface of the taito pad is more like smooth synthetic textile which makes it more slippery and feel less like rough textile and i personally prefer that over the steelseries surface which has provides more textile-like feeling and more resistance.

This product is very impressive. I have a very large desk area and smaller mousepads would either catch on my write or my mouse would slip off the edges. With with ‘pad i have no trouble at all. It’s a nice smooth surface and is very comfortable on the wrists. As this product has lasted me well over a year it’s starting to show signs of wear but as it get useds at least 5 hours a day that’s incredible. If you don’t pull at the edges or pick at it (i have a bad habit of picking away at things) then i expect this product would look as if it’s just come off the shelf. Why didn’t i give it 5 stars?. It’s amazing but this product really should have a seamed or braided edge to it. I’d have happily paid more for this and it would certainly have stopped any of the wear and tear that the edges are showing. If roccat were to ever update this product they should really add a seam to the edge.

I bought the king size [5mm as an upgrade for the old medium [3mm] i’d been using for a couple of years. Tried out some other mats before hand but they just don’t compare, i had to come back to the roccat taito. The medium [3mm] was fantastic, king size [5mm] is 50mm in each direction of more fantastic, but i should have went with 3mm depth. ]

Works like a charm with my roccat kone xtd, sticks to my glossy wooden desk very well, recommended. Note: the edges do fray a little at first, but after a week or so of use this stops and no damage to the actual mouse mat is caused, i think it’s just excess material from manufacturing.

I ordered the medium size pad and having not paid much attention to the dimensions in the description i was surprised about its size. My mouse is getting lost on the pad. If it was too big it would be easy enough to just cut it down with a pair of scissors but i haven’t felt the need. There is nothing wrong with the pad but the resistance / drag is slightly higher than on the solid plastic pad that i’ve used in the past. I guess it’s a matter of personal preference. If you’re looking for a decent mouse pad, you can’t go wrong with this for the price.

Increased control, total command

*disclaimer* the mouse is a perfect white colour as displayed, my image was shot under a slightly yellow light, please do not let this make you think the mouse is not white. *disclaimer*the mousemat comes in a variety of designs and sizes, suitable for anyone. I went with the 3mm ‘mini-size’ mousemat and i do not regret it one bit. I upgraded my keyboard, mouse and mousemat from a brilliant budget set by redragon and honestly didn’t expect the mousemat to be better than my previous one. However, it’s small form factor and nicely printed logo in the corner makes this mousemat look great. It isn’t just appealing to look at though, the mousemat works incredibly well with my kova mouse, also from roccat. With a variety of sizes and designs, i cannot see why this mousemat wouldn’t be perfect for anyone.

I needed a smaller sized mouse mat as my previous one was taking up a bit too much space and this was perfect. Nice style too, with a nice blue rim and my optical mouse responds well to it. Only downside is it comes rolled up (saves space) however takes a bit of time to level out, even when manually handling it.

The mousemat was everything i expected. Great usable surface and they mean it when it says non-slip. However, this product deserves 5 stars just for the packaging. I see other people have had issues with it and i don’t know if the design has been changed or they were just unlucky. When i opened the outer box my delivery came in, i saw one of the hated clear clamshell plastic packs. However, on the back there was a scored section and a finger hole. Stick a finger in, pull and voila, one open packet with no need for scissors, knives or bandages after being sliced on the packaging. I can only hope that more manufactures use this method to make opening plastic packaging easier.

I usually prefer plastic/hard mouse pads as they tend to glide a bit more and some textiles can be very resistant to movement. I wouldn’t say i’m a high sensitivity user. I probably use about below average sensitivity for aim an for being a ‘mini’ this certainly has even more space than i need. I use it with my sharkoon fireglider and it tracks perfectly. The teflon feet work great on it and i get a perfect mixture of consistent glide and control which is what you want for precise aiming. While the logo looks nice and all it has a different texture but my mouse doesn’t cross the are so it’s no bother. I’ve only had it for a few days now but so far no issues with curling up edges and it’ staying nice and flat. I think some of the other brands that offer mousepads that are pretty much identical cost 2x 3x more are a waste of money. I speak of experience since i’ve had steel series, qpads etc and this works just as well. The only thing i can’t speak on is longevity.

Purchased this and the 5mm taito at the same time (still waiting for that one to lay flat)nice sized mat, idea for my needs. Feels good under my mouse (logitech g502) and appears to offer both speed and control. I spent last night (26/03/2018) going through all my gaming mouse mats (11 in total including logitech g240, logitech g440, corsair mm200, corsair mm600, razor sphex, roccat sense + various others) playing bf1 (only fps game i play) and have to say that this mat held up against them all (it’s actually still on the desk and the mat i chose to use). Not so sure about the logo in the bottom right hand section of the mat though as it appears to have been stuck on by heat transfer, which means that for all intent and purpose, that section of the mat is pretty much useless as not only is it quite rough, the mouse doesn’t track so well. Shame about that little niggle, but in fairness, the other mats all appear to have the same effect – did it need to be so big thoughi have a steelseries dex on the way, so only time will tell whether or not that ousts this mat as the mat of choice, but so far so good.

Info- speedy glide with a slight resistance, good for high sensitive gamers that like snap precision. – rubber back, will not move on most surfaces. Pros- cheap for the size and quality. – it’s ******* massive- perfect glide with all mice i tested with it. – the glide is just how i like it, ultra fast but very slight resistance. Cons- almost, almost, nearly. Too big :d- the text on the bottom right of the mat is not weaved into it, its printed embossed ink.

Rubberised backing

I’m a big fan of roccat products, having used the kave headset in the past, and am currently using the isku keyboard and kova+ mouse along with this mouse mat. It’s thin, so the mouse glides across it effortlessly. The surface is really smooth and durable too. The bottom surface is rubbery and stays in place most of the time. I’ve been in intense situations in games where it has moved and when i get a free moment i’ve needed to re-adjust the position of the mat. But that’s no problemif you’re used to standard issue mouse mats that come with pcs or graphics cards, then you’re in for a shock as this will be much bigger than you may have thought. But in my experience, the more room to move your mouse on the betterit does the job it’s meant to do, so therefore would recommend.

Bought to replace my alumic which had become shiny on the side i used most which caused the mouse to stop all of a sudden. This is by far the best mouse mat i have owned and will definitely purchase again.

Bought his via amazon warehouse and whilst 5mm may not sound a lot. It’s actually quite chunky in terms of thickness. However it’s perfect for me at work as itacts as a small wrist rest and my mx master tracks true and effortlessly on it.

I changed from a razer sphex hard mouse mat 33mmx23mm to this 5mm roccat 40mmx32mm, the upgrade in size was exactly what i wanted mainly for fps where i often felt i was running out of space on the pad. The 5mm thickness is fine though i think i would prefer the 3mm next time. The mouse pad doesn’t slide around on my faux wooden desk and i have travelled with it twice already; it can be rolled up and unrolled without any degradation in quality. The mouse moves smoothly across the pad with no tracking issues and is extremely quiet – my old razer hard mouse pad would literally sound like i was scratching the table every time i moved my mouse.

This is quite large so i cut it down and got another useable mat out of it to for my travel laptop. The material is nice, reminds me of wetsuit material, soft with a rubber backing. Very flexible, so i let it hang over the edge of my rough wooden desk as a smoother guide for the mouse cable as my cable is braided and catches.

I purchased this mouse mat on a recommendation from someone i know. The mid-size 5mm is huge compared to what i am used to, which is perfect for a gamer like myself. I still have not yet managed to use over half of this mouse mat but it still feels great having such a large area to use with a good quality mat. The design of the logo looks good and i prefer having that than having just a blank black mat. The thickness of this is great, making it feel like it will last for a long time. The base of it is nicely textured to stop it from slipping and the top is shiny for an ease of moving the mouse smoothly and effortlessly. This is quite a pricey mouse mat, being my first ‘proper’ mouse mat i am very impressed. I would recommend this to a friend, however if you have a smaller desk, the mid-sized one may be too big and i really only use one sixth of it, so it’s not really needed. It looks great on my desk though and it is nice to be able to have the space to use your mouse.
